dain.JPGClaudia Dain, after writing novels in almost every setting imaginable, is taking a long sojourn in the Regency, where she expects to live happily ever after. She’s won some awards but is frankly too lazy to look them up. She’s also a two time Rita finalist, which she remembers vividly because of the shock. Claudia is currently living the high life through her Regency characters and thinks having a butler is all it’s cracked up to be.

suzie-2004.gifSuzanne Enoch writes humorous Regency historical romances and equally humorous contemporary caper romances. In her free time, she loves to go to the movies and has a collection of Star Wars figures she’s been working on since 1977 (including a life-sized Yoda), together with a more recently-acquired collection of Lord of the Rings and X-Men figures. She’s a native of Southern California, and currently lives in the O.C. with a huge number of guppies and other fish and five finches — and the aforementioned statues, figures, and prop replicas.

After working full time since college, Suzanne was finally able to leave her day job and devote herself to Hugh Jackman and writing full time in 2002. She occasionally cheats on Hugh with both Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe. With three books scheduled in 2007, she’s now starting work on a new Historical romance, and is continuing with the Samantha Jellicoe/Richard Addison contemporary romance series.

She has won numerous awards, inclduing Border’s Bestselling Romantic Comedy, National Reader’s Choice Award, and the RITA Award for the Best Single Title Contemporary of the Year. hawkins.jpgUSA Today and New York Times best-selling author Karen Hawkins has won numerous awards for her humorous Regency set historical romances. A one-time college prof at a small college, she was working on her PhD in political science when she sold her first book. She immediately did what all good college students in the middle of stats class would do, she quit school and burned her books on the front lawn while dancing around and drinking vodka straight from a plastic gallon jug.

Ok, maybe there was no vodka. We made that part up. But you get the picture.

Karen writes a lot usually at her favorite booth at Panera and, contrary to popular rumor, she does wear clothes. At least, she does at Panera. What she does at home is her business and A Secret.

For more information on Karen and her sexy, laugh-out-loud, award-winning, best-selling books (or to contact her to find out what she wears when writing at home) check out her website here!

jeffries.jpgAt the tender age of twelve, Sabrina Jeffries decided she wanted to be a romance writer. It took her eighteen more years and a boring stint in graduate school to sell her first book, but now her sexy and humorous Regency-set historicals routinely land on the USA Today and New York Times lists. They’ve also won several awards, from the Booksellers’ Best to the Maggie Award for Excellence.

Sabrina lives in North Carolina with her husband and son, where she writes full-time. If you’d like to get in touch with Sabrina, or want to find out more about her many books, visit her website!

nicolejordan-blog-headshot.jpg

Until recently, Nicole Jordan’s best-selling historical romances have brimmed with simmering emotion and sizzling passion. Now she’s going lighter with her delightful new series — THE COURTSHIP WARS — which focuses on the delicious sparks that fly when Regency lovers play the matrimonial mating game.

Nicole lives in the Rocky Mountains of Utah with her own real-life hero (her husband) and her beloved kids (her horses). In her former life, she eaned a civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech and spent eight years as a manufacturing manager making disposable diapers and toilet tissue . . . not exactly the best preparation for writing romances!

One of her novels had the dubious honor of being humorously spotlighted by Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show.” On a more serious note, her books have appeared on numerous best-seller lists, including the New York Times and USA Today, and earned such honors as RITA finalist, RWA’S Favorite Book of the Year, the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Historical Romance, and the Dorothy Parker Award of Excellence, presented by a group of over one hundred romance reviewers.

london.jpgJulia London writes a lot — mostly emails. However, she is best known for her historical Regencies and contemporary romantic comedies, and has recently begun to dabble in the paranormal field — the writing of it. Not personally.

She has won the RT Reviewers Choice Award, been named one of Borders Best, and is a three time, always-the-bridesmaid-never-the-bride finalist for the RITA Award. When Julia is not lettting a couple of old Labradors in and out — or conversely, out and in — she is at work in Austin, Texas on a variety of books that you can bet your last dollar were due last month.

To help Julia avoid hitting her deadlines, please email her often after visiting her website.

rose.jpgKaren Rose writes gritty romantic suspense with chilling villains and high body counts. She was awarded the coveted RITA for Best Romantic Suspense for her third book, I’M WATCHING YOU and her second book, HAVE YOU SEEN HER was a finalist that same year. Her 2005 release, NOTHING TO FEAR was a finalist for the RITA and the RT reviewers’ Choice Award and a nominee in the prestigious SIBA Book Award for Fiction — one of the only two non-hardcover books to be nominated that year!

A former engineer and high school chemistry teacher, Karen lives in sunny Florida with her husband of twenty years, their children, and the family cat, Bella, who had a starring role in Karen’s fifth book, YOU CAN’T HIDE. Karen’s a sci-fi fan and loves to watch Stagate (go, Daniel!) and Babylon-5 with her husband. She’s very proud of the fact that at 40(ish), she’s embarked on a new journey — studying martial arts. And she’s just earned her yellow belt!

Karen’s sixth novel COUNT TO TEN hit stores 2/7/07 and she’s presently working on her eighth book — more details to come, but look for a character every woman will love to finally get his own Happily Ever After!

Keep an eye on the exciting life of Karen Rose (or to contact her with questions about Babylon-5 or marital arts . . . uh, make that MARTIAL arts), visit Karen’s website!
