Robert Downey Jr. is SMOKING HOT as Sherlock Holmes!!! I didn’t even like him before, but, wow, he got me nearly droolin’.

  2. Bronte on 02 May 2010 at 1:52 am #

Completely agree with B. Didn’t get the appeal until I saw Iron Man. It got turned up a couple of notches further with Sherlock Holmes. Definitely drool worthy.

While the eye candy is nice I’m not sure that I would enjoy living in that era due to evil things such as corsets. I just don’t get the attraction of them. I guess I am a bit of women’s libber in that I prefer that women are equal to men and are able to vote and can have a man charged if he beats her. I also am certain that women deserve to be educated with a decent education and not used as chattel. Um I think I will get off my soap box now and go back to enjoying the eye candy.

I have to respectfully disagree. I’d much rather live in this era, where a) I can look at all four, b) my remote has pause and rewind buttons so I can watch them over and over, and c) modern clothes are so much faster to take off a man.

    LOL.

That’s funny. But I guess it depends on the beholder.

For me, I agree w/ Jen in her reasons.

And somehow, out of the four, I prefer Robert Downey, Jr. That picture of Sherlock Holmes…definitely feeling the attittude there.

Where to start? You got me on a FROS overload! ::SWOON::

I have always thought that Joe Fiennes is rather fine. :D Colin, I have adored since the 80s (yes, I am showing both his and my age) and is it me or is Robert Downey, Jr only getting better with age?

  7. DebraD on 02 May 2010 at 5:50 am #

I have only one thing to say about the Elizabethan era: Codpiece!!

Though not my favorite eras to live (I happen to like air conditioning and indoor plumbing, LOL), the men representing them are very vrey fine. Robert Downey, Jr… what that man does with the characters he’s given should be illegal.

I love the tiny caption under Colin: IBM, Ideal Breeding Material. hee hee

Whay a way to start a Sunday. Fabulous! If I could have one of these, I wouln’t mind living without any of today’s luxruies!

  10. Gannon on 02 May 2010 at 6:59 am #

Oh, four delicious men for the price of one!!

Lovely views on this rainy sunday morning. I haven’t seen any of these show/movies. I need to get it in gear. Seems like I am missing a lot. LOL

Yesterday I drove from Cinti to Columbus Ohio for the RT booksigning. Got to see the delightfuly Karen Rose and met another goddess Sabrina Jefferies. Both are very wonderful ladies to talk to. That booksigning was something, I had never seen anything like it. But it was well worth the drive.

I agree with B and Bronte. I never saw the appeal of Robert Downey Jr until Ironman, and after Sherlock Holmes, I was completely sold. And Joe Fiennes – yummy. Those 2 are my favorites. Although, I have to admit that while I enjoy the visual appeal of the historical, I’m just glad that I can’t smell them. I love modern hygiene.

It just isn’t fair that guys like these get sexier as they get older. Robert Downey Jr was cute when he was young. Now that all his hard living is showing on his face, he is sexier that all get out. Whereas most women with his history just looked hard and used up. Not fair, I say!

I also like the caption beneath Colin’s pic. So true, so true.

Ladies, ladies, don’t you know that half the fun of receiving a gift is UNWRAPPING it? Too many clothes? Never a problem. That just prolongs the anticipation. And lets face it, girls, if I found THESE guys underneath all that wrapping it would definitely be worth it!

  15. Kathleen on 02 May 2010 at 11:19 am #

Okay these guys could brighten any girls day.. I know the sun just starting shinning through the window as I was looking at them… “Who can make the sunshine, the eye candy can”…..

And I agree with Magaret that the caption under Colin’s name is very fitting…

Now where’s a good time machine when you need one?? I could happily trip through time zones, think of the frequent flyer miles you could get then!

Very nice way to start my Sunday, now those guys can really give you a dose of religion!
Thanks Karen, you are on top of your game as usual.

Ah, this reminds me why I like historical romance so much. Sigh.

Mmmmm Colin Firth well looking at FROS has made me feel so much better. I had an arthroscopy on my right knee on friday so at present my right knee is very uncomfortable and swollen but I was expecting this but am totally fed up at not beong able to do anything. Even reading is a problem as I can’t concentrate for long but that will soon wear off with the effects of the anaesethic

  21. Kathy on 02 May 2010 at 2:48 pm #

I’ll take Colin Firth in any era!

feel better Paula! are the boys taking care of mum?

  22. evlqn on 02 May 2010 at 6:13 pm #

Paula think FROS often! and try to relax. Our g-sons’ father just got out of the hospital with hip replacement. He will be down for two weeks. Just remember, Colin Firth.

  23. Freshechelle on 02 May 2010 at 7:06 pm #

Read 2 Goddess new releases this week, had the week off and now this FROS… It’s been a really good week….

  24. Lisa H on 02 May 2010 at 8:16 pm #

    Is that a hot flash?

  25. Karen Hawkins on 02 May 2010 at 8:37 pm #

It’s always good to expand your horizons … and eras. As for hygiene, I would take it with me. I do love a hot bath and make sure my heroines and heroes do, too. That’s the beauty of fantasy (and fiction), MY characters are far cleaner than historical research wishes us to believe. They’re sexy, smart, AND they smell WONDERFUL.

As for favorites … well, Robert Downey looks fine and I just love him, but Joe Fiennes in Shakespeare in Love slayed me. I have to go with Joe.

  26. Paula on 03 May 2010 at 6:28 am #

Kathy and evlqn yes the boys are looking after me. I’m getting better and have slightly more moevement in my knee today

  27. Jackie on 03 May 2010 at 2:08 pm #

I dream of time traveling – I said time traveling. I want to visit not live in every era you have listed. Wouldn’t it be fun to meet all of the people we read about and see how they lived? Of course I want to be a peer not a commoner! I was watching the Tudors last Sunday and it was summer. From what was being said very hot – people were wearing velvet and fur and there was no AC!!! Think about life with no AC or central heat, no ibuprofen, people died from infection. As much I love to read about life in other periods I guess I better stick to the here and now.

One last though – a ballroom with several hundred people, candles in the chandeliers and sconces and no Soft ‘n Dry.
Your guys from each period are hot – wonder what their counter parts would have looked like. I am a big Tudor fan and I know Henry did not look like Jonathan Rhys Meyers !!!
