Its Fun Contest Saturday!
Feb 27th 2010
KimOn Writing!
Your favorite day of the month is here again! Its Fun Contest Saturday!
The second book in Madeline’s new series, Provocative in Pearls, just came out and next month we get Karen Hawkins’s next contemporary, Lois Lane Tells All! That’s a whole lot of good reads, isn’t it?
Fun Contest Saturday is two things. 1. FUN. 2. A contest. Which means one lucky reader is going to win two signed books. One each from Madeline and Karen. I’ll ask two questions and to enter you just need to email your answers to goddesscontest@gmail.com. Please use the subject line “Feb Contest” and include your Goddess blog name and full mailing address.
Let the contest begin!

1. Lord Hawkeswell and Verity strike a bargain. What must she accept from him daily?
You can find a hint on Madeline’s website.

2. Mark Tremayne returns to Glory for a job. What job is he taking over?
There’s a hint, right here, on Karen’s website for you!
Remember, don’t post your answers in the comments below. Email them to goddesscontest@gmail.com.
The contest ends at midnight, Sunday, February 28.
One winner will be chosen at random to win. They will be able to choose one book from Karen and one from Madeline from the Mt. Oly prize temple shelves.
Good luck to y’all!
This Saturday I’m working on paperwork and my taxes. Two things that I seriously do not enjoy. What are you doing this Saturday? And tell me, is there anything you have to do on a regular basis that you really detest?

We just turned in the pile of papers to the nice tax man, and will now wait on his verdict, but yes, today I am doing paperwork as well. It’s gotten pretty ugly; too many piles I’ve been ignoring. And there’s sunshine outside today! But I know I’ll feel better when it’s done.

I should be working but instead I’m taking my mom shopping for her birthday. Sometimes you just gotta.
I detest making out payroll for IVs company. Been doing it for 20 years. Was supposed to be relieved of it 2 years ago and am still doing it. Just loathe it and complain loudly all the while. You’d think they’d be so sick of me whining they’d FIRE me. PLEASE.

I guess we all have the same idea. I have all the papers for our tax’s in one folder, but now I have to separate and tally up, etc. I usually do laundry and clean on Saturdays, which I actually enjoy (I know, its crazy right?).
And today we are probably going to visit my great aunt Daisy (over an hour away) who has moved from assisted living to the nursing home part of the establishment. She is in her late 80’s now. She used to read a lot and loved Nora Roberts books but stopped reading some time ago. Its been hard for her to be inactive (when she was 81 – she was still on a bowling league and working part time! Then she was in a car accident and things went downhill slowly).
What I HATE to do? Clean the tub. It is hard to scrub bent over like that and the smell of bleach bothers me…so I usually bribe the dh and he does it. I also DETEST vacuuming out my car (again with the bending in awkward positions…I mean if you are going to have to do that contortionist movement, it should be while you are wearing less clothes and have a better pay off at the end LOL).

I’ve been up since the crack of dawn and have mostly done annoying tasks that i had to do.
I’ve:
cleaned up mouse poop. (apparently a chocolate bar fell behind a shelf. can you say EWWWW)
written lesson plans.
written reflections for the plans.
corrected papers.
taken out trash.
I’m hoping to:
walk down into town and buy some tea.
read a book.
My DH is OOT for the weekend, so I’m relaxing and trying not to miss him too much.

Today, I am spending the day reading and watching DVD’s like Season 2 of Pushing Daisies and G.I. Joe 1.3 the animated series. In my area in New Jersey, yesterday, we got 18 inches of snow so you know part of the day was spent shovelling, salting, cleaning snow off cars etc.

Ok, I’m a couple of hours into this paperwork monster. Honestly. How much do I really need to save? Really? It’s all these utility and medical bill/statements that are killing me. And the kids’s paperwork. This is nuts….

I did some exercising and now getting ready to start to clean. I hate cleaning the bathroom, esp since the cats litter box is in there too.

I am going to be reading and watching the Olympics… It has been snowing on and off all week and cozying up with a good book is just the thing to do today..

I’m getting my no chip manicure. Sounds awful to say I detest it but it’s 2 hrs of sitting still trying to hold a book open with my elbows. Self indulgent whine, I know.

I’m heading out getting ready for Girl Scout cookie booth sales then my youngest daugther’s birthday party at the bowling alley.
Instead of “goodie bags”, I’m getting gift cards for a new place in town – Yogurtville – self-serve frozen yogurt.
Then the Girl Scout store to pick up bowling patches for the troop. Then, boutique to pick up a birthday present for a friend’s party tomorrow.
It’s super-nice here in Dallas – 60’s – so I’m going to drive around with the windows down & the music cranked up!! Have a great day y’all!!
Detest? cleaning my girls’ bathroom – it’s a wonder they have any hair left on their heads when I’m cleaning out the tub & sink drains… (not to mention hair product stuck on like crazy glue on their vanity!).

Another snow last night and I am still trying to decide if I should fix beef or pork for dinner. After dinner will be laundry.

Already this morning DH and I went to watch NOT participate in a Polar Splash at a local park here in Indy. We got up especially early to drive an hour to watch to co-workers jump into the freezing water for charity. It was fun and funny; except for our frozen feet!
The job I hate any time is getting paperwork together for taxes to be done.

Today I’m reading, surfing the net and watching the Olympics.
I don’t like paperwork or taxes either.

Paperwork and tax prep…what I’m doing and what I hate the most.
(BTW, I’ve added a D to my screen name as I noticed another Brenna on the blog the other day. )

I have already sent in my taxes! I get them done so I don’t have to worry about them anymore. I hate doing this stuff every year! Not doing much today! Got to do a little laundry and straighten the house.
Kim on 27 Feb 2010 at 12:24 pm #
Well, I’m glad i’m not the only one who dreads paperwork! I’m in excellent company. And now I’m trying to keep the bird from tearing up everything on my desk and the dog from tearing up the bird. LOL.
In a couple hours we’re taking my mom out for her birthday dinner. She turns 70 tomorrow!

I’m grocery shopping and writing the epilogue to A Hellion in Her Bed. *G* I’m laying in stores for my last week of revisions.

Cooking for my guy and his friends. They volunteered to deliver water and dry ice to the homebound and elderly. About 1/2 of Orange and Ulster Cty is out of power. Local churches and hospice groups are calling in names and the guys are out delivering.

I’m allergic to taxes. I get hives every time I do them. But I do them, anyway, because I like not being in jail!

Out of fairness because I just won a book from Madeline I won’t enter the contest. However I can still yammer away here at Goddess Central.
So far today I went to a B-ball game, our guys won! I have finished most of the homework that is due tomorrow, so I can go see Avatar. I have to call AT&T to let them know the phone they sent to replace a broken phone is malfunctioning. I DO NOT want to pay another $50.00 deductible, it would be cheaper to buy a new phone ant transfer the number.
I have to get stuff ready for our taxes, maybe if I close my eyes and wish really hard it will all go away. Personally I wish the government would just convert to the tithing system. Everyone pays a flat 10% of their income and leaves it at that. We would actually stand a chance of getting our selves and the government out of debt that way.

Congratulations evlqn!!!!! Well deserved and lucky you!

I’m chilling out tonight – just got rid of all THREE kids for the night – WOO HOO!! Mr. G & I are just blobs of jello on the couch tonight – maybe our Netflix movie?? Gawd, I’m getting old… hanging at home in a quiet house is just nirvana for me now.

I finished reading Sabrina’s Lord Stoneville today.
I managed to get by all day doing very little. Blissful.

I got to spend a relaxing day reading and playing on the computer. The job I really don’t like that I have to do regularly is clean the kitty’s litter box. No fun, but it has to be done.

I passed yesterday going to church, watching the Olympics, and basically doing nothing but finishing reading a Christine Feehan book and starting to read another book.
I have been given by my lovely parent a weekly chore. I detest that.
And if the other user of the bathroom is not present, I clean the bathroom. I detest that, though I think I got it easy since the users of the downstairs bathroom don’t clean theirs and my lovely parent does it.

I watched the Olympics and cried sad after waiting four plus years of waiting and seeing it happen coming to a close here in Vancouver.
