No shopping for me today. I’m hanging tight at home. I have 4 Chapters to revise and I want them done before next Thursday.

I don’t come back to the stores in a few days… until the Three Magic Kings purchases. Today I’ll stay at home enjoying my Xmas gifts, reading a book by Nicole Jordan (a gift from my husband) and watching dvd (my sister Carolina bought me a 5 dvd’s pack… stories by Jane Austen and Bronte Sisters…) sigh… I’ll spend a couple of hours with Rupert Penry-Jones… sigh… sigh… sigh

Morning gals!! I wish I were as smart as you but I’m not. There’s a comforter set and curtains I’m determined to pick up today. LOL. Hopefully the crowds won’t be too horrible.

Not leaving the house. Except maybe to see Avatar.

I am staying home today. I have some major cleaning to do. There is nothing I want that badly to leave home for.

I will be heading out later on today with my older daughter. She wants to get some new Chucks with her Christmas money and my younger daughter wants to get more books with hers, so off to Borders!

No sales today. Just a quiet day at home, although, we did talk about going ice skating at the beach this afternoon. However, since I think so many others will be doing the same thing, I think we’ll be waiting until next week to try it, especially since my dh has the week off with the studio closed over the holidays.

We may be going to a movie later, the sales not so much. I am sooooo tired of jockeying for position in the store aisles.
Tomorrow we may go to Portland to see my g-daughters and take in the zoo. The boys are looking forward to the Zoolights.
I hope everyone had as nice a day yesterday as I did.

Going for a bra fitting with my sister. Getting felt up and paying for the privilege. Lucky me.

normally I would avoid the stores at all costs. But it is sunny today, the snow is melting, it is above freezing (which won’t last), so I am thinking maybe late this afternoon I’ll give it a try, just to see the decorations, etc. Really, not to shop, just to get out. Truly. Nope, no more shopping for this goddess. And if the traffic is bad, I’ll just turn around and come home.

Thanks for the chuckle Fresh!
Yes, I’ll be going out for a short while unless, like Madeline might, I encounter bad traffic. Then I’ll come home and nap!

Well, I went. But I must have been delusional. We went to Target first, and that was a breeze, lulling me into believing the mall wouldn’t be bad. It took me 20 mins. to find a parking space at the mall, and 20 mins. to get out after I shopped. We ate lunch there and had a really hard time finding a table in the food court. Arghh!! I got some good deals on ornaments for my “fashion tree” (which is why I went), but I’m not sure it was worth it. It was a madhouse!

I didn’t go anywhere today! In fact, I am a lazy dog today!! I am trying to recover from the days leading up to the Holiday, shopping, cooking, decorating, wrapping, choir rehearsals, etc, followed by Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We didn’t get to bed on Christmas Eve until around 3am.
I was so tired yesterday that I kept dozing off in the middle of conversations, and even a 2 hour nap didn’t cure it. I slept 11 hours straight last night (and this morning). So you see, shopping was the LAST thing on my mind!!
I’ll probably hit the stores tomorrow . . . that it, if I feel like it!

We’re buried under over 13 inches of snow so I’m barely getting out the front door, so definitely no shopping for me.
Kim on 26 Dec 2009 at 7:21 pm #
Jody-don’t say that! We’re getting dumped on right now. Its crazy!
Sabrina-what’d you find? Pictures!!
We went out. Traffic was horrible but the stores weren’t too bad. My new bathroom is ready to be decked out in a burnt gold and brushed bronze. Soooo pretty! Can y’all believe Target wants $20 for a bathroom trashcan? Insane!
Now I’m off to bedazzle my bedroom in lush burgandy. Hopefully I’ll find some dark green drapes for the living room.

I went out around 5 today after I did most of my cleaning. I mainly wanted to go to this store in the mall called Brenda’s Crafts, they have wonderful holiday stuff, snowmen etc. I bought 3 things for 50% off. Then I went to Hallmarks and got some cards/wrapping paper for 50% off. Also at the calendar store got my friend Chris the daily hunk calendar for 50% off. Not bad for an hours work. LOL

No! We really didn’t get each other much this year. The grandchildren all got books. We have been helping our children all year and that counts as their gifts, plus we have rented a condo in Pigeon Forge, TN for this week and everyone will get a few nights on their own to use it.
I’m not much of a shopper except in book stores. I spent the day getting the books for a club I belong to ready to hand over to the new treasurer. Am almost done, thank heaven.
Hope Everyone had a Wonderful Christmas!

I wouldn’t risk the stampede at the malls just now. I prefer to wait until the second or third week of January. Then again, I’m not needing anything more then a couple new pairs of jeans and maybe a maxi dress.
Madeline Hunter on 27 Dec 2009 at 11:34 am #
well, I went after all. And while the mall was busy, it was late enough that I was able to find parking easily. But here is the scoop here—the sales were not impressive. I was looking a winter coats and they were 50% off which sounds good, except that they are almost always discounted a lot, even in September. So I came home with some blank journals from the Waldens that is going out of business (sigh) and little else. But it was nice to get out of the house and “play” a little.
