1. Oh, I remember it as if it were yesterday! I’d not even started to read English romances yet and I checked out Ka-Rawk’s site and among other things there was a button saying “BLOG”. I ignored it at first because I had absolutely no idea what a blog was, but finally I hit it and the whole Goddess world opened to me. A great experience for me since it actually started my roaming all over the cyber romance world.
2. By “read the Goddesses”, you mean their books, not TGB, don’t you? At home, actually. I can concectrate and enjoy best there. On my desk or my bed, in various positions. *snicker*
3. I think I owe more historicals when I actually like contemps a little bit more. But I sure enjoy a good mix of both!

1. From a link in Karen Rose’s Twitter, if I’m not wrong. Then, I forgot all about it the next day. It was a while later that I was typing an address in the bar and the browser completed with this address, and I wonder what the H was The Goddess Blogs. So, I came back here. And I remember that very well because I spent the whole night, reading the site. Ehhh, I need a life, I know. And, since then, I’m kind of addicted.
2. Their books or the blogs? If you mean books, I’ve only read Karen Rose, and while I don’t *read* her books everywhere, I sort of do, because I have my very favorite parts memorized and I’m often playing them in my head — in class, at the mall, at a restaurant and anywhere else, really. If it’s the blogs, it’s in my room. It’s become a habit to open it with Facebook, Orkut and Twitter every day
3. I *only* read contemporaries. I have no patience for historicals!!!
Jane on 28 Nov 2009 at 4:23 am #
1. I can’t remember, but I think I was probably visiting Nicole or Sabrina’s sites and clicked on the link to the Goddess Blogs.
2. I’m usually at home and sometimes at work.
3. I read both, but more contemporaries.
Kim on 28 Nov 2009 at 4:29 am #
Good morning Goddesses!! I hope everyone is enjoying a nice lazy holiday week end.
B-Sorry about that, I meant books. You definitely need to give historicals a try. Broaden your horizons!

1. I hate to admit that I did not know such a blog existed until I got today’s email from Kim on Facebook.
2. I read the “Goddesses” at home, mostly while in bed late at night, sometimes on the train to work.
3. Both but I mostly buy and read historicals.

1. I found TGB when Squawk Radio folded their doors. Someone mention the goddesses and posted the URL. Hooray! 2 years ago about this time of year. Oh my.
2. I read the Goddess books everywhere I go. I always have some reading material tucked away for emergencies. Like waiting at the Drs, car breaking down in the wilderness, etc. The Kindle makes it even easier to have endless reading material.
3. I vary between historicals and contemporaries. Whatever strikes my fancy and whoever has their latest release burning the racks waiting for me to read. I could never get into the vampire/paranormal, but there are a lot who have and love them. My step-daughter is still aghast that I stopped reading Gabaldon’s Outlander by page 50. I loathed it. LOL She & her BFF thought it was the greatest book ever written. Apparently, they were not alone.
Lisa H on 28 Nov 2009 at 6:26 am #

I found out about the Goddess Blog when I invited Karen Rose to be a guest speaker at a luncheon and she accepted. We had a lot of time to talk in the car on the way there and back which is when she suggested I check the Blog out.
I read the Goddesses and all other books mainly in bed at night.
I used to read mainly historicals, but a lot of my favorite authors jumped to contempory so I leaped with them. Now I read a nice mix of both.

1. How did you first find the Goddess Blogs?
Through the divine Ms. Castillo
2. Where are you when you read the Goddesses?
In my own Goddess Haven (my office, away from the kids. Why yes, I do only have one child so why do I pluralize? Hmmmmm.
)
3. Do you mainly read contemporaries, historicals or a nice mix of both?
I’m a nice mix of both. There are too many awesome books out there to read, so I think sticking to one sub-genre would be such a disservice to me! Life is too short – read fast!
nancyg on 28 Nov 2009 at 9:17 am #
1. How did you first find the Goddess Blogs?
I think one of the goddesses was talking about it during a Writerspace chat… looked at the goddesses-in-residence & realized I read most of them, then “discovered” the others
2. Where are you when you read the Goddesses?
the blog – at my desktop in my office
the books? mostly before beddy-bye time in the master bathroom jacuzzi tub, door locked (kids, what kids?), candles lit, facial mask applied, and a glass (or two) of cabernet or pinot noir to accompany me. By the time I “finish”, bath water is officially lukewarm and my feet are prune-like.
3. Do you mainly read contemporaries, historicals or a nice mix of both?
I’ll read 4-5 books a week, so I like a variety. I try to have read at least 2 current NYT fiction bestsellers & 1 non-fiction at any given time.
Y’all know me by now – I like to mix it up!!
That being said, there’s nothing like a good steamy historical…

1. I found the Goddess blogs after looking at Rachel Gibson’s website and I’ve been here ever since. I’ve since read the historical novels of many of the other goddesses.
2. Home only
3. Historical or contemporary. Have read paranormals & romantic suspense but don’t really care for them only because the world building or suspense halves the romance for me.
Emmanuelle on 28 Nov 2009 at 9:43 am #

1. I was at Sabrina’s site, and saw a link to TGB. . . . .had to take a look, and was hooked. . . .
2. The Blog–home, on the couch, or I pull it up at work every so often. . . .
If I know I’m going to have long periods of waiting, I am sure to have a book with me to read!
The Books–just about anywhere. . . . if I’m at home, I’m usually either curled up on the couch, or in bed reading. . . . if I’m out and about, whatever chair I’m closest too!!!
3. It’s a mix of both. .. . when I first came to TGB, it was just about ALL historical (I love the escapism offered with them–different time/place, etc.). . . plus, I just hadn’t found ‘good’ contemp authors to keep me pulled in to those stories. Thanks to the awesome Goddesses at TGB, I can now claim a growing collection of contemps, as well as the awesome historicals!!!

1. I’m not sure how I came across this blog initially, but it was a safe site to bookmark since I’ve read and enjoyed just about all the authors involved. More specifically, I’m here today because of post/message from Kim Castillo on Facebook.
2. I usually only have time to read either for an hour or two in bed before going to sleep or during the subway commute home from work.
3. I read just about all sub-genres. I LUUURVE historicals, but in the last week I’ve been on a contemporary jag (dug Kristin Higgin’s Fools Rush In out of the tbr pile–great book– then I stayed up till 5am last night reading Rachel Gibson’s True Confesssions. I’ll be starting Shoot to Thrill by Nina Bruhns’ later today.

1. How did you first find the Goddess Blogs?
Either from Sabrina Jefferies, Suzanne Enoch (I think it was she), Nicole Jordan or Madeline Hunter. Hehe.
2. Where are you when you read the Goddesses?
You mean their books? Just about anywhere I can snatch time to gobble up their words. Mostly cuddled up on the couch or lounging in bed
3. Do you mainly read contemporaries, historicals or a nice mix of both?
Nice mix (toss some paranormal and high-fantasy to that mix) of genres to be honest.

2. Where are you when you read the Goddesses?
I am in my living room, in my recliner, on my laptop.
3. Do you mainly read contemporaries, historicals or a nice mix of both?

!. I came upon the Goddess blogs through Facebook. I have found many wonderful author and fan sites through FB.
2. I read the Blogs either from home or work; honestly, from work mostly!
3. I find it easier to get lost in the historicals. Mmm. such wonderful heroes, fashions that I will never wear (not to mean that is necessarily a bad thing – corsets and petticoats?), and locations I can only dream of ever visiting.

Found the Goddess Blogs through Madeline.
Read in my office, usually during a break in my own writing.
Historicals ALMOST exclusively. A good Sci-Fi romance is my alternate read, but difficult to find.

I found out about the goddess blogs from the websites of Karen Hawkins, Julia London, Nicole Jordan, Suzanne Enoch and Sabrina Jefferies. It wasn’t this many Goddesses on the page. When I read the Goddesses I am a number of places, on the bus going to work, on breaks at work, at home anywhere I have a free moment. I read mainly historicals, I like the time period and the scenes and descriptions of that era.
Delia Daza on 28 Nov 2009 at 2:08 pm #
1) I believe I was in one of the websites of either Karen Hawkins or Suzanne Enoch, Madeline Hunter or Sabrina Jeffries, not sure.
2) I read The Goddess when I’m at home. Most of the time checking FB ro when I’m in one of the websites of the Goddesses
3) I read Historical, it would take a very special novel to get me to read a contemporary.

2. In Krakow, Poland — usually reading on the tram ride into the city center or on the couch after kiddo is in bed.
3. I trend toward historical but have started back with contemporaries after some great recommendations from Smart Bitches, Trashy Books.

1. I can’t even remember, but I’m sure it was from one of the lovely goddess’s newsletters or websites.
2. I read in my home office.
3. I mainly read historicals, as well as paranormal/urban fantasy and science fiction. I do read contemporaries as well, but not as much.

Can’t remember where, and I read at my home computer which is my life line when I’m out of books to read. I read historical and paranormal mostly but I do read contemoraries as well.

1. I was on Suzanne Enoch’s site and it was listed under fun…and I’m all for fun. There was indeed truth in advertising.
2. I’m on my computer. I’ve tried other places, but since it’s a blog, this seems to work best.
3. I average 4 books a night and I read a nice mix of both.
BTW, this has got to be one of the easiest quizzes I’ve taken in a while.

3. Do you mainly read contemporaries, historicals or a nice mix of both? Mostly historical, but I have a lot of contemporaries in my collection as well and I have read most of them.

I. I found TGB through Lori, I get her newsletters and she was going to be a guest Goddess. As a benevolent Goddess she spread the word amongst all of her followers, and we followed. Thank you Lori, I am glad you moved to Mt. Oly for good.
2. I am wherever I can open a book; chair, bed, sofa, checkout line. I will and have read just about everywhere but the shower, soggy pages don’t you know.
3. Right now I am in my mostly paranormal phase but I read EVERYTHING! Want to know what is really in hot dogs??
Lois on 28 Nov 2009 at 4:39 pm #
1. I haven’t a stinken clue. LOL My best guess is that I heard about it from one of the authors I was already on the mailing list for that was here (they would be Sabrina Jeffries, Karen Hawkins, Nicole Jordan), but could be wrong.
2. I guess you mean the blog here, I’m usually at home when I visit all my blogs, but once in a blue moon at college too.
3. I alternate between historical and contemporary (either a single book then on to the other, or a historical series then to a contemporary series, etc.)

1. I found my way here through Karen Rose’s web site. Thanks Karen!!
2. I read the Goddesses wherever I can. Usually it is in my living room, in my chair. I also keep a book in my purse for any long waits I may be forced to endure. The blog I read mostly at work… yeah, I know that’s probably bad… and at home on the weekends.
3. For me it can be historical, contemporary or paranormal, if it’s written by an author I like I will read it. When I want to find a new author I usually look on the web-sites of my favorite authors and see who they like and go from there.
Happy Saturday everyone!!

1. After I met K’Hawk (aka Mrs. Hot Cop) at a luncheon in Birmingham and especially after the diet coke through the nose incident I had to look up her site. Quickly downloaded her backlist so I could go on a mad spending spree, saw the blog link and voila! The rest is history!
2. I read the GB on my desktop in my writing studio which is why I STILL haven’t finished my GH entry that needs to be overnighted on Monday!
3. I read almost everything in the romance genre, but the bulk of my reading is Historicals – mostly Regency or early Victorian set. Next I would say I read paranormals.

I remember first finding you all when I was on livejournal surfing paranormal book blogs. I can’t remember which blog led me here. I read the blog in one of two places with my laptop- on the dining room table or in my comfy chair in the living room. I read mostly contemporary stuff like urban fantasy and paranormal romance, which can be historical….hmm…so I guess it depends. I love Lori’s books:)

I’m late, I’m late, for a very important . . . quiz!
Okay, when did I first discover the Goddess blogs? Hard to say. At least a year ago, maybe more.
Where am I when I read the Goddesses? The blog? Well, duh – at my computer. The books – anywhere and everywhere. Kitchen table, curled up in a chair, under the covers in my bed in the wee hours of the morning when I’m forfeiting sleep to finish one of the books — you name it!
I used to be all about contemporary romance and romantic suspense, until a few friends took it upon themselves to convert me to historicals. I had already discovered that — much to my surprise — I liked paranormal and fantasy, so I grudgingly agreed to read a couple. I was convinced I wouldn’t like overblown Regency-era romances featuring stuffy prigs for heroes and simpering virgins for heroines.
I fell into the trap of judging a whole sub-genre based on a few books I’d read in the 1970s. Whip me with a tasseled fan — I couldn’t have been more wrong. I still like contemps, rom-susps and paranormals, but now my TBR pile has grown to cataclysmic proportions. I suspect every historical published in the last year is there, waiting to be read. Love them!

1. My friend Hollie told me about The Goddess Blogs.
2. I’m in my library, surrounded by books that I love enough to keep–shelves on 3 walls!
3. I read contempories, historicals, mysteries, or whatever else I’m in the mood for–but historicals are leading right now. Probably because there are so many good ones!!
