Profiles in Goddesses (Part 2)
Nov 8th 2009
Nicole JordanGoddess Readers Speak Out & Nicole Jordan
In building a profile of our Mt. Oly inhabitants the other day, I learned a lot about my fellow goddesses (who gave some great answers.)
I think we’re all fab, so I don’t want to talk about “average” or “typical” goddesses. But a snapshot would show that we mostly see our lives as a “journey” and our outlook as “tomorrow is another day.” As for conflict, we don’t like it and prefer flight to fight. And on Mt. Oly, we roll our toilet tissue over the top, chiefly to keep our cats from wreaking havoc, but also because we’re obsessive-compulsive.
For Part 2, I promise no more questions about TP. I’m keeping the choices down to two, although feel free to expound or split hairs in the “Other” category if you feel the need to be better understood by your fellow goddesses.
Which way to do you lean? Are you more:
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other
5) Organized / Messy / Other
6) Generous / Miserly / Other
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other

And finally, if we were to adopt a mascot at TGB, who would you nominate?

Cool beans! I get to be first!! Okay, here goes:
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other – Mostly optimist, but occasionally, well, you know how that goes.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other – Introvert. I have always been shy in person.
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other – A little of both, but it depends on the situation.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other – Couch potato, but I like to watch athletes do their thing. Does that count?
5) Organized / Messy / Other – Other than my book list, I am a complete slob, and I don’t mind admitting it!
6) Generous / Miserly / Other – Generous. My family and friends tell me to quit giving them so much at Christmas because it makes them feel guilty for not reciprocating, not that I expect them to.
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other – Complete animal lover. I have had pets of one sort or another since I was 4 yrs old.
Can’t wait to read all of the answers!!

1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other – I show people I’m optimist, people often accuse me of being “all rainbows and unicorns”, but, deep down, I’m a cynic.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other – I’m shy as hell, so, I often get nervous and talk like crazy. I mean, real talking, all in one breath. What does that make me?
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other – I’m both at some point. Usually methodical, though.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other – Couch potato ;-D
5) Organized / Messy / Other – More messy than organized.
6) Generous / Miserly / Other – I’m pretty generous
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other – Not an animal lover. Unless you mean as food. Then I’m all for animals (oh, wow, I guess I’ll end up pissing people off with that one).
A mascot as in a member here?
Trini on 09 Nov 2009 at 5:45 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other: OPTIMIST, always
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other: Extrovert, I love people (well, sometimes I loose my faith in human race… but only sometimes, because I’m optimist)
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other: mmmmmm I’m not sure, I think I’m impulsive because of my nature and methodical thanks to my education….
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other: there’s no doubt, Couch Potato… the sport gives me allergy and if attempt to enter a gymnasium certainly falls a ray above to me (or something like that). One of my favourite sentences is “sport is bad for the health”…
5) Organized / Messy / Other: fifty-fifty, it’s the eternal figth between my genes and my education (yes, my mom is always in my mind telling me the correct way to do… goooddd)
6) Generous / Miserly / Other: Generous, and thus it goes to me… I haven’t an Euro and I’m always helping others to solve their problems…. (again, goooddd)
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other: Other, I mean, I like a few animals like dogs, horses, monkeys…. I’m a bit little slob, so I don’t like the work that they give…..I have my husband and my teenager son… it’s enough…
Trini on 09 Nov 2009 at 5:59 am #
ooopppssss I forgot to anwser the second question…. You all, Goddess are wonderful, I don’t konw who I can nominate, but… Could I adopt Hugh Jackman or Rupert Perny-Jones… or both…?????. On the other hand, they can adopt me, I am clean, worker and honest….
Kathy on 09 Nov 2009 at 6:55 am #
my turn!
1. Mostly optomistic but sometimes life can pull at you and bring you down.
2. Extrovert! I am not afraid to make myself the fool
3. Impulsive when it comes to gonig out and having fun. Methodical when working.
4. Couch potatoe. I enjoy sports from the safety of the couch with remote in hand.
5. I’m organized and messy if that makes sense. I have pockets of mess waiting to get organized. cds, dvd are alphabetized and loan outs are posted on my fridge. but I currently have a pile of dishes waiting to get done.
6. Generous with my time. miserly with money, ’cause I never have enough.
7. animal lover all the way! I have a very spoiled cat and going shopping tomorrow with my soon to be niece in law to get supplies to make a pimped out pink doggie bed for her new puppies.
as for mascot: Hugh Jackman dressed as Leopold… pretty much who I see while I’m reading my historicals
the only pic I could find at short notice…http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/entertainment/movies/2002/04/kate_and_leopold_body.jpg
Karen Rose on 09 Nov 2009 at 7:14 am #
1) Both, depending on how much chocolate I’ve had
2) Mostly an extrovert
3) Methodical
4) Couch Potato who exercises under duress
5) Mentally organized, physical space is messy (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)
6) Generous
7) Animal Lover (but who will say they are an animal hater? Curious to find out.)
Mascot for Mount Oly? Cupid – but he’d have to be no cartoon, y’know.
Kathy on 09 Nov 2009 at 7:29 am #
I dunno,. Karen, but a friend of mine is an admitted animal hater. she won’t let her girls get pets. when I was her nanny and was thinking of getting a dog, she was all for it and me bringing it to work. that way, her kids would get the experience of having a pet and she’d never have to deal with it herself.
Amy Scott on 09 Nov 2009 at 7:43 am #
1) Pessimist- But I am working on it.
2) Introvert mostly, unless alcohol is involved then…
3) A little bit of both.
4) Couch potato. I like watching sports, but I usually end up hurting myself if I attempt to play them.
5) My closet is a mess, but everything else is organized
6) Generous
7) Animal lover, but usually at some point during the night, with 2 cats on my pillow and a dog at my feet, I do ask myself why.
I will have to think on the mascot, but I do like Kathy’s answer.
MizMacgyver on 09 Nov 2009 at 7:58 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other
Other=I am more a realist, the glass isn’t half empty or half full it is simply a half glass.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other
Definitely an introvert, almost surrounded by extroverts
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other
uhh, both? I am impulsive in some aspects but when it comes to work I am almost OCD level methodical.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other
Finally, an easy one! I am a bonafide couch potato with no athletic tendencies whatsoever.
5) Organized / Messy / Other
I am organized when it comes to my reading, sewing etc. Messy when it comes to such things as painting, cleaning, vehicle upkeep etc.
6) Generous / Miserly / Other
Mostly generous, sometimes too much so.
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other
When I was younger I was an animal lover, now I am more of an animal liker…LOL I live with two cats but I am not a comfortable slave which is what they seem to require. When they allow me to interract with them I love them.
MizMacgyver on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:00 am #
Oh, a mascot? It would have to be something mythical don’t you think, I like Karen Rose’s answer too, an in the flesh type of cupid would work for me, maybe we could have try outs.
LoriHandeland on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:39 am #
1) like to think I’m an optimist, but I’m probably not
2) introvert. When I have to extrovert I get exhausted
3) Methodical to the extreme
4) athletic, though I wasn’t always
5)organized
6) generous
7)animal lover
SuzyQ on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:40 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other – Optimist
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other – Mostly Extrovert but can be shy around people I don’t know
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other – Impulsive – I really hate all those things they put at the checkout lines.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other – Couch potato except on Tuesdays when I bellydance
5) Organized / Messy / Other – Other – messy during the week and spend the weekend getting organized
6) Generous / Miserly / Other – Generous – I always spend way to much for Christmas, birthdays, etc.
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other – Animal Lover. I miss having a dog.
Mascot – Well, I agree with KarenR about Cupid but since this is Mt. Olympus I think we should go with his Greek name, Eros. Here’s a visual:

Claudia Dain on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:43 am #
1-realistic optimist
2-introvert who is comfortable in crowds
3-methodical who trusts her first instincts
4-lazy athlete
5-organized piles
6-generous or miserly depending on the recipient
7-animal lover
mascot: Hugh Jackman as anyone. Wolverine for our paranormal fans. Leopold for historical fans. The Driver for our Aussies and western lovers. Hugh Jackman as Hugh Jackman for everyone else.
Michelle B on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:44 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist – Optimist, the glass is alway half full, and every bad has a silver lining.
2) Introvert / Extrovert – Extovert
3) Impulsive / Methodical – I’d say I’m Impulsive, but there is a method to my madness
4) Athletic / Couch Potato – Athletic, however I spend a lot of time in the bleachers. I did teach all three of my kids to catch a ball, throw a ball, swing a bat, shoot a basket and play volleyball. Even practiced soccer which I didn’t grow up playing.
5) Organized / Messy – Organized in my mind, but it probably looks messy
6) Generous / Miserly – Generous
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover – Animal Lover, I was raised on a farm where Spring time was like Spring in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”.
Mascot – Gilles Marini (Sex & The City’s naked neighbor of Samantha and DWTS hunk) He even looks like a Greek God.
Freedom Writer on 09 Nov 2009 at 8:59 am #
1. I’m usually more optimistic.
2. Introvert, I’m very shy.
3. Impulsively Methodical
4. Couch Potato
5. Organized, if things get too messy my brain gets scattered. I hate when that happens.
6. Generous when I can afford to be.
7. Animal Lover.
Mascot Any hot guy will do.
Pesky on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:01 am #
1. Optimist: I like to think the best of people and situations.
2. Conservative Extrovert: I’m not afraid to meet new people and will dive in to most situations, but I’m a pretty good read of character and will hold back if I feel I need to.
3. Methodical: I work with computers so I tend to see a pattern in everything. However I don’t prescribe to analysis paralysis, sometimes you just need to get on with things.
4. Athletic: Compared to a marathoner I’m a couch potato, compared to the avg. american teen, I’m athletic.
5. Organized
6. Generous: With time and friendship
7. Animal Lover: I have to be or her Royal Attitudeness would be out on her ass.
Mascot: Sure. As long as it’s not a rock. Our mascot in high school was the town founding rock. Yeah, it was interesting.
Kim on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:17 am #
1. Pessimist — though I prefer the term “realist”
2. Introvert — people tire me out and I need privacy and solitude to regain my energy. I’m not shy, though; there’s a difference.
3. Both impulsive and methodical, depending upon the circumstances. More methodical, though.
4. In between — I don’t go to the gym, but I do try to walk 5 to 7 kms per day. Can’t stand to sit around all day and not move!
5. Organized…sort of. With help from sticky notes.
6. Generous with my heart, as generous financially as I can afford (I support a local animal shelter)
7. Animal lover. I can’t fathom not loving and respecting the four-leggeds we share Mother Earth with. Certainly I don’t want to be around people who don’t!
As for a mascot, as long as he’s buff (of course), it doesn’t matter. But naturally my vote always will be for Rupert Penry Jones. LOL.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:19 am #
Y’all are too funny!
Ldf, not sure that watching other athletes counts unless you’re jumping up and down cheering them on or yelling at them in disgust. That probably burns a lot of calories, lol.
>>> I’m shy as hell, so, I often get nervous and talk like crazy. I mean, real talking, all in one breath. What does that make me?
A hot air balloon, maybe? I can just picture you, B, lol. Like the laughing gas you get at the dentist’s office. Really, though, that’s a very normal reaction to nerves. In public speaking, I was taught to blow out slowly and deeply be before beginning so you get your lungs deflated. Then when you talk, you’ll have room for the nerves.
dbrown3400 on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:21 am #
1) Optimist most of the time, although Claudia’s realistic optimist makes sense.
2) Introvert since I’ve been retired and am not around people much. Used to be comfortable anywhere.
3) Both impulsive and methodical depending on the situation.
4) Last summer, athletic, this year too much rain to get out and do my walking. Is that a good excuse to be a couch potato? LOL
5) Organized chaos. I know where everything is on my one messy shelf, but I defy anyone else to sort it out. Everything else is organized.
6) Generous.
7) Love animals and would have a small dog or cat if they were allowed in our building.
As for a mascot, I’ll go with Claudia on Hugh Jackman. He’s probably the most mentioned male on this blog.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:24 am #
Trini, looks like you are pretty balanced…. or maybe just pulled in two different directions like a tug of war.
And I totally understand this sentence!! >>>I’m a bit little slob, so I don’t like the work that they give…..I have my husband and my teenager son… it’s enough…
>>>I’m organized and messy if that makes sense
Yep, Kathy…makes perfect sense to me, lol.
And your suggetion of Hugh dressed as Leopold works for me.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:28 am #
>>>Mentally organized, physical space is messy (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)
Ka-Ro, I would have guessed exactly that.
And Cupid would be ideal for a romance blog like TGB. What about Hugh dressed up like Cupid? Think he could pull it off? (wincing laugh)
>>>>Animal lover, but usually at some point during the night, with 2 cats on my pillow and a dog at my feet, I do ask myself why.
Too true, AmyS, lol.
>>> live with two cats but I am not a comfortable slave which is what they seem to require. When they allow me to interract with them I love them.
Lol, MizMac.

1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other— Other. Realist.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other— introvert
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other— other, as in both
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other—- couch potato, I’m afraid
5) Organized / Messy / Other—- messy
6) Generous / Miserly / Other— other. It all depends
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other— other. I love MY animals, not yours
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:36 am #
>>>When I have to extrovert I get exhausted
Lori, I laughed at this. That’s how I feel sometimes.
>>>Impulsive – I really hate all those things they put at the checkout lines.
SuzyQ, I laughed at this, too! And that is a gorgeous pic of EROS!
>>>-methodical who trusts her first instincts, -lazy athlete
Claudia, you’ve described me perfectly!
And your various images of Hugh is a very diplomatic suggestion, lol.
MichelleB, you proabably get the award for top goddess athlete! And I loved Giles in S&TC!
>>>Organized, if things get too messy my brain gets scattered. I hate when that happens.
Free, I’m that way too!! I hate it when my brain gets messy, lol.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:43 am #
>>>Animal Lover: I have to be or her Royal Attitudeness would be out on her ass.
LOL, Pesky!
>>>Mascot: Sure. As long as it’s not a rock. Our mascot in high school was the town founding rock. Yeah, it was interesting.
You have got to be kidding!!!! Wow, bet you had a lot of seriously warped teenagers on your sports teams. How in the world do you make like a rock?
>>> I need privacy and solitude to regain my energy. I’m not shy, though; there’s a difference.
So very true, Kim! I think I fall into that category too.
And Rupert would get my vote also!
>>> this year too much rain to get out and do my walking. Is that a good excuse to be a couch potato? LOL
Definitely a good excuse, Donna! Hope the rain lets up for you.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:44 am #
>>>Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other— other. I love MY animals, not yours
Love that answer, Madeline! LOL I feel the same way about kids… although I admit my new neighbor’s 2 kids are awfully cute and bright and fun.
Candis on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:45 am #
1) Pessimist — I am totally a glass half-empty kind of girl. I don’t want to be. But I am.
2) Extrovert — And if you think I’m bad, you should meet my daughter. Everybody knows her. For years I never had a name, I was always “Kristalle’s mom.”
3) Impulsive / Methodical — I’m actually a bit of both. I’m methodical when it comes to business related stuff. But stick me in a big box store and I definitely go down aisles I shouldn’t.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other — Athletic? Me? Not a snowball’s chance in you know where. Couch potato? Nope. Hardly ever sit and watch TV unless its one of my fav ghost shows or a Boise State Broncos game. Oh, and Castle. I looooove Rick Castle.
5) Organized — I’m a Virgo. ‘Nuff said.
6) Generous — Probably why I’m always broke.
7) Animal Lover — Yes! Can’t live without them. Currently we have 3 dogs, a cat and some chickens. But at any given time we’ve also had horses, cows, sheep, pheasants, guinea hens, rabbits. I still want a pygmy goat but my husband says you can’t housebreak them.
Mascot? I’m thinking Hugh Jackman as Thor.
TrishD on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:48 am #
1. Optimist. At least I try to be… sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail.
2. Introvert. Unlike Kathy, I am afraid to make myself the fool.
3. Methodical. I can be impulsive but I have a tendency to think things to death and end up not doing anything, unless it involves chocolate.
4. Couch potato. Or in my case, chair potato. Bought new furniture last year and I just LOVE my chair, won’t let anyone else sit in it.
5. Messy. On the surface I look organized but in reality I’m not. But I can usually find whatever I need.
6. Generous. We’re not talking money, right? I’m miserly with money but that’s just because I don’t have much. My love and time though? Very generous.
7. Animal lover. I’ve always had pets and the years I lived in an apartment and couldn’t have any were the worst of my life.
Pesky on 09 Nov 2009 at 9:50 am #
Looking back it was kinda paganistic, strange for a town settled by French Huguenots. They’d roll the freaking rock out and dance around it (the cheerleaders that is). Short skirts made up for any deficiencies in the mascotness. It was very 80’s.
And now I get to use my new favorite excuse: I blame it all on growing up in the 80’s…
Freshechelle on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:06 am #
1) Optimistic about big stuff, pessimistic about little stuff
2) Extrovert with many cringe-worthy moments
3) Impulsive – see above
4) an athletic couch potato – I work a lot and really earn my sitting around time. My couch as the ass-groove to prove it.
5) love a neat house but keep a messy office, which is in my apt.
6) Generous and careless with $, and some times cheap just on principal. If you do a charity walk, I will sponsor you. Just ask me to take the action myself. Kind of like Bridal Showers, I’ll pay more to avoid being there.
7) Gotta love our feline overlords. Can my Coconut be our mascot? But she’d like to change the title to Queen. Mascot is so common.
Trini on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:13 am #
Nicole, I’m geminis, so there are two different sides in me… in fact, I think I’m a good candidate for the psychiatric…
As I can see, the most of us think the same way about our “mascot”… we can adopt Hugh Jackman and I prepared to share Rupert Perny-Jones with Kim.
SheridanLA on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:16 am #
1) Optimist with realistic expectations
)
2) Mostly an extrovert, but am more of an introvert then people might realize
3) Impulsive- I prefer spontaneous.. but in decision making, for the most part, I make quick decisions
4) Athletic (though I look like a couch potato
5) I am both messy and organized, so a hybrid
6) Generous
7) Animal Lover – how can you not love animals? You don’t have to have them as companions.. but they are fascinating.
Catherine Gayle on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:19 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other – Primarily an “optometrist” as my sister said when she was little.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other – Very much an introvert. Which is one of the reasons I’m an aspiring writer. I don’t have to deal with people in person too often.
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other – I prefer to say that I’m methodically impulsive. There is always a method to my madness–you just likely can’t see it.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other – Couch potato. Sad, but true.
5) Organized / Messy / Other – A little of both. My house is clean but not particularly neat–particularly my desk. But I keep all of my files well organized on my computer.
6) Generous / Miserly / Other – I prefer to be generous, but finances of late have forced me to be miserly. I am generous with my time, however.
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Other – I’m an animal lover, even though I’m terrified of dogs.
Kathleen on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:44 am #
1) Optimist / Pessimist / Other- Optimist most of the time.
2) Introvert / Extrovert / Other- Extrovert for sure. I am sure most people who know would agree.
3) Impulsive / Methodical / Other- Impulsive oh yes, but I an be very cautious when it is warrented.
4) Athletic / Couch Potato / Other- Have to admit to being a couch potato most of the time. But I have my moments of energy when I go out and walk for excersise.
5) Organized / Messy / Other- Organised 90% of the time.. I have my moments when I can be messy..
6) Generous / Miserly / Other- Oh Generous and somtimes to a fault.
7) Animal Lover / Not Animal Lover / Othere- Animal lover for sure. Especially Dogs and Horses.

I am an optimist!
I am smack dab in the middle of introvert/extrovert, but lean towards extrovert
I am neither impulsive or methodical. I really don’t know what I am.
Athletic.
organized
Jack London and I were talking about this yesterday. I can be very generous, but on some things, I am so miserly. My miserhood is very selective.
Huge animal lover. I miss my dogs!!
Mascot? A big lovable labrador. I’ll keep him.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:52 am #
<<< And if you think I’m bad, you should meet my daughter. Everybody knows her. For years I never had a name, I was always “Kristalle’s mom.”
That's almost scary, Candis, lol. No, seriously, I've met you and love your extrovert qualities… and your love of animals, too.
A chair potato! That's great, Trish! Love it. I think we should nominate you to design the perfect chair for Mt. Oly.
Paganistic… that explains it, Pesky. lol But I still pity your high school experience. Very sad to have a rock mascot.
Ah, a Gemini. That explains your balance, too, Trini.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 10:58 am #
>>>an athletic couch potato – I work a lot and really earn my sitting around time. My couch as the ass-groove to prove it.
Love it, Fresh!! lol Agree on the bridal showers thing too!
And Queen Coconut would make a lovely mascot, especially since we have so many cat lovers here. Although for Julia’s sake, maybe we ought to consider a lab. Maybe they could rule Mt. Oly together!
>>> My miserhood is very selective.
Great answer, Julia!! I’m getting more and more like that as I mature (notice I didn’t say older? I just had a big b-day so I’m avoiding the subject of age,)

>>>Athletic (though I look like a couch potato/ I am both messy and organized, so a hybrid
Funny, Sheridan! And I think we have a LOT of hybrids here on the Mount.
>>>Primarily an “optometrist” as my sister said when she was little.
Love that, too, CathG! And your “methodically impulsive” description is great.
>>>Animal lover for sure. Especially Dogs and Horses.
Great, Kathleen, another horse lover! What’s your fave breed/discipline?
B on 09 Nov 2009 at 11:25 am #
Trini, I’m gemini, too.
Nicole, I’m very, very anxious when it comes to public speaking. And it’s only getting worse. The other day I left in the middle of a presentation in class. It was horrible. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I talk A LOT, I mean, enough to drive anyone crazy. I just can’t shut up. I talk during class, at the movies, while watching tv, I even talk on my sleep.
And I’m pretty sure that you can picture me just right: my professor says it seems I’m about to fly ’cause I move my arms so much when I’m speaking. I write a lot, too, a bunch on nonsense, like now, and I usually comfort people saying they should be thankful they’re not listening to me speaking it all in one breath.
I’m a freak
And K-Rose, I really, really don’t like animals. I don’t *hate* them, but, ugh, no, thanks.
Lisa H on 09 Nov 2009 at 11:35 am #
1. Optimist
2. 1/2 and 1/2 I need my people time and my private time
3. Impulsive
4. Athletic when I have the time. I am not a couch potato but sometimes my family’s needs prevent me from exercising.
5. Organized
6. Generous
7. Not an animal lover…I don’t hate them, just don’t want to take care of anything else.
Mascot? Johnny Depp or Robert Pattinson—two very hot and romantic men.
Pesky on 09 Nov 2009 at 12:45 pm #
Yeah, but if I didn’t have that high school experience I wouldn’t have grown up to the abnormal maladjusted Pesky that’s here today.
SheridanLA on 09 Nov 2009 at 12:45 pm #
OH! I forgot to nominate the mascot..
I am going to nominate a bookworm.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 1:05 pm #
Hey, a Bookworm would work great, Sheridan!
I get your point, Pesky, *G*
B, I imagine that recent experience was awful for you! I’m so sorry. I just attended a writers’ conf last month with wonderful workshop on public speaking — teaching you how to get over your fears and techniques to use to make it less terrifying. Have you thought about looking on-line to find tips or advice books?
>>>1/2 and 1/2 I need my people time and my private time
Very well said, LisaH! I think that probably fits me well, too. Only my poor dh has to be my people outlet a lot of the time, since I don’t get out much except to go to the barn. I’ve gotta have my horse time, too!

1. Optimist. Although my BFF laughed at me the other day when I stated that fact. Maybe others don’t see it that way… But I’m all about optimism, really!
2. Both. Depends on the situation, really. I can be very shy and silent but also a little chatterbox who talks to everybody about everything.
3. Methodical. But I still tend to listen to my heart when I’m not sure about something.
4. Neither. I’m a gym-girl but (unfortunately) don’t have much time for it atm. I’ve never been very sporty, though. Gimme some weights and I’m happy enough, but balance beam, high bar etc. – forget it!
5. Organized. In my surroundings and in my head.
6. Generous. Definitely.
7. Animals rock, okay?!? Especially Veili, our bunny, and Schlumpfi, our neighbour’s cat.
Hmm, a mascot? How about this cutie here (I bought it for my sister for Christmas and I’d like to keep it myself now, it’s so sweeeeet!):

1. Optomistic with a touch of cynic.
2. Extrovert with some introvert when in a group of people I don’t know.
3. Methodical. I don’t like puzzles so I really thinks things out. I just like logic.
4. Other. I do walk 2 miles a day outside but I some times I have days that I just don’t.
5. Other. Organized clutter. I sort of know where things are but I need a few days to put my hands on it.
6. Generous. I like gift giving. It makes the person happy and it makes me happy.
7. Animal Lover especially dogs.

Nicole, Design a chair? I’m seeing it in my head already. But let’s call it a throne, we’re Goddess after all!
Kathy on 09 Nov 2009 at 1:59 pm #
I just spent a few moments looking for Hugh in a cupid-like outfit. it’s a trial, but I’ll endure!
so far, haven’t found anything. maybe if we all did a proper request, he’d pose for us!
elsiehogarth on 09 Nov 2009 at 2:18 pm #
A mascot for Mt. Olly….Eros or Apollo for a dog and Aphrodite for a cat.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 2:32 pm #
So then we can all be throne potatoes, Trish? Love it, lol.
>>>I’m a gym-girl but (unfortunately) don’t have much time for it atm.
I hear you about the time, LisaK! I have various weights and bands at home, but just the time driving to and from a gym makes me wince. And while I used to do gymnastics as a kid, I would no doubt kill myself if I tried anything now!
I’ll go check out your link in a sec, right after I post this comment!
>>>>Organized clutter.
Elsie, I think that’s becoming a theme! You’re in good company. And your ideas for mascots work for me!
Do keep trying for a Hugh/Cupid link, Kathy, lol
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 2:35 pm #
Awwe, that stuffed whatever it is, is just adorable, LisaK!
LauraR on 09 Nov 2009 at 2:48 pm #
Candis… did you know you can housebreak pigs?
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:02 pm #
>>> did you know you can housebreak pigs?
I knew that, LauraR! My dad had a house pig named Bing when he was a kid… said it was even smarter than a dog!
Angela on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:10 pm #

1) Optimist
2) Extrovert (like y’all couldn’t tell)
3) Impulsive … Methodical … Crazy. Pick one, they all fit.

5) Other–I can put my hands on anything in my office … but I tend to have piles.
6) Generous
7) Animal Lover–I love animals but don’t have any of my own.
A mascot? You mean, like a big stuffed turtle or something? Or a guy? Because I could go for the guy, but I’d choose Richard Armitage.
LisaK on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:43 pm #
Nicole, it’s the Baby Sheep from a TV series for children called “Shaun the sheep”. And even though it’s for the little ones I love watching it too because the sheep are just adorable!
B on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:45 pm #
Richard Castle would be a great mascot, if we’re going for guys. He’s HOT. And a writer. And a God, so, we have all of that covered. I vote for him.
Nicole, I thought of reading on the being nervous subject, I just don’t see how a book would help me with that. I need therapy and anti-anxiety medication, I think. One that works, because I’ve had horrible experiences with them in the past. I’m very anxious. I’m just dreading the end of the semester now because I have FOUR presentations in front of the whole class… How the heck am I supposed to do that?
Worst part is, since I talk a lot, no one understand why I’m so nervous when it comes to presenting.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:56 pm #
>>> I am owned by a cat named Ali.
Love it, Angela!
You’re an extravert, Sabrina??? We never would have known, lol.
>>>A mascot? You mean, like a big stuffed turtle or something? Or a guy? Because I could go for the guy, but I’d choose Richard Armitage
Whatever comes to mind! Richard works for me, too.
I can see why you watch that show, Lisak, that is just so precious. I’ll bet the kids love it.
Nicole Jordan on 09 Nov 2009 at 3:58 pm #
B, good point about Castle being a writer!
And the advice I was thinking of was about public speaking techniques. There are some simple physical things you can do to help you relax, like breathing a certain way, and pressing your back up against a chair. And other things like speaking to one person in the audience who’s a friend, and pretending you’re having a normal conversation without anyone else present.
Most everybody is nervous at getting up before a crowd! And I imagine there are lots of tips you can find on line that might just help. I would send you my friend’s workshop, but I don’t have it in an electronic file, only on paper.
I sure hope your presentations go well!

Oh for a group of goddesses I think the mascot has to be a gorgeous ripped man who looks like a demi-god. Clothing optional.

Well Nicole, after that…. Which will be our mascote????, you decide… I’m waiting anxiously…. Could I share Rupert Perny Jones with Kim and Hugh Jackman with the other Goddess????. Yes, I know it, I’m very ambitious and greedy…
Nicole Jordan on 10 Nov 2009 at 9:31 am #
LOL, Trini. Well, it looks as if Hugh got the most nominations, but I’m not Zeus so I’ll have to consult the other resident goddesses about the final result. But if I WERE Zeus, I would difinitely let you share Rupert with Kim.
Emanuelle, glad you’re an animal luuuuver!
Congrats on exercising so much, Judy! You’re an inspiration to us all.
Moozlady, your house is packed! But I’ll bet it’s a great crowd.
Nicole Jordan on 10 Nov 2009 at 9:36 am #
Louisa, you get the award for most varied animals! That’s really amazing – and very admirable if you ask me!
>>> I loooove finding the perfect gift for someone. Always makes my day!
I love it too, KarenH, but I’m lousy at choosing gifts. Next time I need to, I’m gonna call you for advice!
Tammy, I was going to summarize the results, but I think your profile best fits the answers we got today!
I think this shows that we’re more alike than different here at TGB. And I’m so glad to know you all. You always make my day!!!
Sweet Jane on 10 Nov 2009 at 11:00 am #
1) I’m definitely an optimist.
2) I’m an introvert when there are a lot of people, ’cause I’m shy. But when it’s one-on-one, I cannot seem to stop talking! I’m also blunt and not secretive, I don’t really hold back.
3) I’m impulsive in my personal life, methodical with work.
4) Oooh… more of a couch potato, I’m afraid.
5) I used to think I was very messy, but after living with so many other people, I almost feel like I’m organized. I guess I’m naturally messy, but I draw the line very quickly, too.
6) I’m generous with my time and love and attention. Less with my money, ’cause I’ve never had much and I’m, generally speaking, not a spender.
7) I love animals, but from afar. Although that is beginning to change, since I’m currently living with a cat and enjoying it.
LisaK, I love your mascot! Sooo cute. My 8-year-old cousin watches “Shaun the sheep” every morning on TV before I take him to school…
Tina on 10 Nov 2009 at 7:16 pm #
I thought Zeus was the mascot.
I’d rather have Hugh Jackman.
