The Air Force reunion will be in Fort Worth, Texas. My husband has been there a few times, but I haven't. Wish we had more time to spend in the state. There is a lot to see. We'll spend 3 days in Ft. Worth and then go down to the San Antonio area for about a week. When I have time, I'm checking out things we don't want to miss. We are big history and nature people. It will be nice to visit with the FB-111 people. Hope a lot of them can make it.
It was a good thing I was in the Peace Corps before we got married and I got to go overseas. After we got married, my husband got stationed in my hometown and we spent 7 years there. I wanted to travel and see new places. We never got an overseas assignment, but we had several nice ones stateside.

I was interested to hear of your friend with the mini stroke.
My husband has had two and we've been able to restore his memory function well both times without drugs.
There is a new sugar that has been discovered that promotes better communication between brain cells. It is about half as sweet as table sugar so we use it instead up to 3 tbp a day. The difference is big enough that when our son came home from Oxford U for Christmas he could see an immediate improvement.
I have fibromyalgia and use the trehalose to help with the brain fog. The result of that is that I just submitted my first manuscript. When I was on drugs for it, that would have been utterly impossible.

I don't sell this stuff- you purchase it online at www.endowmentmed.org
You can talk to the people there by calling the number at the website or emailing.
It's quite inexpensive as nutritional supplements go and we have found since it is low glycemic, it also lowers hubby's blood sugar...

We wouldn't be without it.

Lol, Patricia! I hear you about the shrinking brain.

Where is your Air Force reunion? I'm an Army brat and one of my (several) high schools is having a reunion soon, although I won't have time to go. This school was in Germany and the reunion is in Vegas.

Have fun at your reunions!

I go blank so often lately it is scary. Unfortunately, these moments can be called senior moments. I make lists (and loose them). I keep several calendars (and can never seem to find them). The lists work well if I can hold on to them. I know I haven't gotten enough sleep lately (I'm blogging at 12:30 AM, so what does that tell you?). I have way to much to do at work and have been playing catch up for months. No stress there.
We have a vacation in a month which should be a break. We are visiting relatives, bringing our 11 year old grandson and attending our 45th high school reunion. I'm trying to decide if it will be even a little relaxing. We are gong on a 2 1/2 week trip in Sept./Oct. to attend an Air Force reunion. That we will enjoy and we should be able to relax. My brain will just have to stop shrinking. I don't have enough to spare.

KarenH, I can sooo relate to your lists! And your deadline, too. Best of luck meeting yours. Mine was weeks ago and I'm still not finished!

Pesky, I'll bet you're getting really good at taking photos. My dh is too. He never took any courses but has a progression of digital cameras starting years ago when they first came out. I adore the ease of taking photos now, since you only have to download and touchup and print. But I agree, it would help you tremendously if you can hang on to your cameras, lol.

NancyG, what a cool device. I've never heard of that digital grocery list before.

And thanks for the tips from your sales manager training. I'm definitely going to try those! Sounds like some of our other goddesses will too.

Nicole -

I tool my classes at a local community college. The first class was in black and white and taught composition, developing and basic camera settings.

The second class was in color.

Third class was on digitial photography and basic digital editing.

A lot of these classes are also given at night for the local community as well if you are looking into them.

Oh, Nicole, I am SO relating to this topic! Lately, it seems that I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders!

Thank goodness for post-its. I carry some in my pocket all day and I make lists, lists, lists. Then I make MORE lists! I don't know what people did before post-its. I post-it my grocery list, my to-do list, the time I put the roast on, whether I put clothes in the laundry or not -- because, honestly, without a post-it, life is a blur to me, especially now in my final deadline week.

nancyg, I need to use your name the rep trick, too. It would be VERY handy and yes, some of them are so poorly trained!

tanya -

it works for me. I used to be really good about names, but now I tend to forget them as soon as I learn them. "In one ear and out the other" as my mom used to say. I actually learned that technique during a sales manager training seminar a few years ago.

Another helpful hint - if I'm making a customer service phone call about something - I have a pen ready & write down the name of the rep when they first answer. I repeat their name as a ?.

Like "My name is Jane Doe, how can I help you today?" I'll say, "I'm sorry - Jane what?" then write it down on the bill, piece of paper, etc. - if you use their name a couple of times during the conversation, you WILL get better customer service!! Then I also write down the date & time so I have a record of who I spoke to and what they promised if any further problems arise (as it did when I switched from cable to Direct TV).

One cable rep actually HUNG UP on me once, I called back, spoke to their supervisor, and had them written up & a copy of the write-up faxed to me for confirmation because I threatened to call corporate & I had all their names, dates, & times written down!
