Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day. We spent some time with my Father In-Law who was in WWII and wanted us to bring him to the VFW for the afternoon and loved sharing those he still friends with at the post. I've learned so much from him and have him and so many to thank for all they've done for our freedom.

I encourage everyone to take a look at the following websites designed to support our troops overseas:

http://www.soldiersangels.com/
and
http://www.anysoldier.com/

Soldiers who don't get mail from over here are recommended by their commanding officers to these organizations and you can choose to adopt one. Don't expect letters back, they're very busy, some will write, some will or can not. However, it is one of the simplest things we can do to support our troops in the field. A roll of Charmin, crystal lite to flavor the processed water, books, magazines, a baseball, cookies, wipes to clean up with, these are simple things not easily available in the field.

I have been involved in one or the other of these organizations for the past three years and it is one of the most rewarding things that I have done.

I do not have friends or family in the military.

Usually when I'm in No Dak, I'll stop by the cemetary to take flowers to my grandparents.

Happy Memorial Day, my fellow goddesses. And a warm extra hug to those in uniform as well as to those who are the children or parents or siblings or spouses of those in uniform.

Happy Memorial Day everyone. We celebrate here in town with a big bicycle race with competitors from all over. I can see the race from my window; the racers go by in a large group with a few stragglers. Later, there's a parade featuring veterans from all the wars.

Dad was a decorated WWII Army veteran in their Air Division. He served primarily in Italy and was the only surviving officer in his Company. My ex served in Korea, but thankfully during peacetime. Today, I'm so grateful for our armed services overseas, but wish they were back home instead. And remembering all those who served and never made it home.

Happy Memorial Day.
We have ours in November- Remembrance day. We wear red poppy pins on our coats and gather at local cenotaphs to pay our respects to those who have fallen.
My father was a proud member of the 1st Special Service Force (Devil's Brigade) in WWII.

May you find all your family members safe.
Let's hope for peace.

I wish a safe and meaningful Memorial to everyone at the Goddess Blogs.

I honor all in our military who have served and are currently serving so that we might go to bed at night with no concern for the dangers they face on our behalf.

I come from a long line of military men, most especially my dear Dad - an Army veteran of the Korean War and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He served six years in the Army and twenty one years in the Air Force. I miss him every day.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

Where would we be without those willing to sacrifice everything for us. I shudder to think about it. I am deeply humbled by their service.

My dad was in the Navy and my brother in the Air Force. Their stories are very interesting.

Bless them all
