You may not realize this, but we’ve updated the Know Your Goddesses section of the site to reflect the addition of our two new goddesses. So I thought it might be fun to see how our reader (and other writer) goddesses would answer some of these questions:

    I’m just not that in to him. But if it were Johnny Depp? I’d cover myself in honey and let a zillion ants have their way with me. But it would have to be a long French kiss.

    I usually read while in my recliner at home (and sometimes in the bathtub).

    1. Where do you read or write? Read anywhere in the house, but mostly on the couch or in bed. Write on the couch.
    2. What do you wear? Anything I´m wearing that particular day, usually slacks and t-shirt
    3. Favorite beverage? Dr.Pepper
    4. What would I do for chocolate? None of those options (I think), not that desperate. Unless if I maybe had to save everyone from having any chocolate ever again :Ö)
    5. Kiss from Hugh Jackman? Hmmm not that interested, he has a certain babyface quality that just does not do it for me unless he has a days growth of beard and a scowl :Ö) Give me Daniel Craig or Harrison Ford (in his younger years) and I might be tempted to jump through a flaming hoop :Ö)
    6. Favorite gifts? Books, DVD´s and CD´s, candy, knick knacks and colorful bed sheets.

    Hmm. I read research stuff during the day, anywhere and everywhere. At lunch, while waiting anywhere. I try to read romance before bed, when there’s no laundry or other stuff pulling me away! On my chaise or in a fluffy chair.
    I write everywhere now that I have my new Mac! In the car, out and about, at home.

    Comfy clothes, at all possible times!

    I have to give up my crack, which is White Tea with Raspberry and I’m substituting plain water or this flavored water, Jasmine and Plum, from Target.

    Trying to stay away from chocolate. Not easy for me.

    Okay, after the Oscars, I’m tempted to give Karen and Claudia a run for their money regarding Hugh. How adorable was he? But I think it’ll be safest for all of us to just back away and let those two goddesses duke it out.

    Any gift! I love to give presents and get them. :-)

    Well, that depends on what I am reading/writing, if it is something sexy, which knowing me, like I know me, it probably is, then I am curled up in my favorite chair alone in my favorite room.

    What do you wear while reading or writing?
    Well that is rather personal and I believe I will leave a little mystery in our relationship. What say you, give a girl a little modesty. =) If you knew me, you would definitely understand the joke here.

    What is your favorite beverage to sip whilst reading or writing?
    A very hot cup of Earl Grey with milk and honey.

    What would you do for chocolate?
    Allergic, I know, a cruel joke from God, I lost 30lbs-which at the time was awesome, I now fit into a size 1, and then I found out I was allergic to chocolate. Sad

    What would you do for a kiss from Hugh Jackman?
    Better question, what would he do after I kiss him, hmm, I am sure I have a few suggestions, sorry Karen, but I will warn you I am a redneck at heart and I can scrape for a man if I need to (lol). =P

    Hugs and kisses, mmm. Who needs material goods when you have those.

    In bed – My husband got me this REALLY comfy back rest from Brookstone with built-in heater, massager, arm & head rests, cup holder, and book light!

    What do you wear while reading or writing?

    Jeans or shorts and a t-shirt

    What is your favorite beverage to sip whilst reading or writing?

    Soft Drink – Diet Coke-a-holic

    What would you do for chocolate?

    Blech – except my new fat-free chocolate ice-cream (but what’s the point in that, right – less treadmill time?)

    What would you do for a kiss from Hugh Jackman?

    Anything he wanted – that dude is “Mr. Swivel-Hips”!!

    What are your favorite gifts to receive (you can list more than one)?

    practical gifts – the best 2 gifts I received are a new heavy-duty, high capacity clothes dryer for my garage – for towels, jeans, sweats…and my *Scumbuster* (with attachments!!) – can do everything from polish shoes to clean bathroom tile! (told y’all I was a mega-geek!)
    I don’t like flowers because it’s odd to me that someone says “I love you” by giving you something that’s already dead…and I tend to lose jewelry, but I have a few pieces that I adore & wear all the time.

    BTW, I think the worst thing about gastric bypass has been that I had to give up diet coke. But at least I didn’t have to give up coffee!

    Okay, y’all have got to stop letting KarenH intimidate you about Hugh. We are ALLOWED to love Hugh, too. There, I said it (while sticking my tongue out at KarenH). She cannot hog him. She can’t!

    Sadly, I missed the Oscars. I should have taped it so I could just watch the Hugh parts!

    I’m glad I DVRd the Babara Walters special in addition to the Oscars. I’ll skip the Youtube and really have something to look forward to when I get back to NJ. Of course, I’ll have about fifty hours stored on my DVR I’ll need to squeeze in between my regular shows and new task as babysitter. Luckily, some of the shows are in reruns and won’t tape.

    1. If I write anything, it has to be here at the computer. Nobody can read my handwriting. It’s worse than any MD’s. I read in bed where I can be comfy and have good light.
    2. What do I wear? Umm. My glasses? Oh. Alright. Here I wear casual clothes. Bed, I wear pjs or a comfy nighty. And my glasses!
    3. I drink coffee (morning cuppa), iced tea or hot chai tea and water. Lots of water. Cases of water. Ice cold milk with sandwiches.
    4. I wouldn’t do much for chocolate anymore. Vanilla seems to be my flavor of choice these days.
    5. Hugh is cute but KarenH can have him. I want a cute cowboy who wears his chaps well. If you get my meaning there.
    6. Gifts? Anything. Everything. I want it all! Especially that nifty vibrating back rest now that I saw it on Brookstone.com nancyg, do you think your DH would buy one for me?

    Ooh, I went and watched the Oscar stuff–it was great! Hugh was fab as usual.

    Dh said that there was a spoof on the Daily Show about how Jon Stewart didn’t compare to Hugh. I liked them both, frankly. I don’t get the Oscar thing–how they choose the hosts. Everytime they say a host sucks, I go, “really? I thought they were fine.”

    Guess I’m not as picky as some people.

    I read anywhere I can because I always try to bring a book with me.
    I wear comfy clothes while reading.
    Water is my drink of choice. If I’m really lagging I might pick up a Cherry Coke.
    Not quite bleh with the chocolate, but almost there. Caramel -good caramel- is worth walking thru a fire.
    Anything he wants.
    Supplies to make my own jewelry. Or a babysitter so I can go to more jewelry classes. Gift cards for books are welcome as well. Just no knick knacks. I hate dusting.

Those o fyou who do not (and you know who you are!) should be aware that while I may not have earned my belt like Karen Rose (oh yeah, she LOOKS nice, but she will take you DOWN if you deserve it!), or be as strong as Suzanne Enoch (who lugs allll of those figurines up and down the stairs of her house) or as quick on my feet as the agile Julia London (she floats like a buttahfly!), I DO own a taser.

    Ho ho, nice! So, what about me…

    1- I like to go to coffee shops to write down ideas and first drafts. But anything more elaborate has to be done quietly at home, on my laptop. Wherever I feel comfortable.
    2- Ha ha ha… Most likely options 1. or 2. (ie jeans / shorts + tee-shirt or casual slacks + shirt).
    3- Tea.
    4- Walk in hot water… Not sure what that’s supposed to mean in regard with my liking of chocolate. :-D
    5- Ha ha ha ha ha. I think 3. LOL
    6- Food. ‘Cause that’s the one thing which you can hardly miss my taste choosing… I eat about anything. Really.

    My friend works in a building that houses a library, ferry terminal and city offices. including the city’s fire inspectors. yum!
    well, some of them anyway. my pal works the lottery booth and when I have an easy day, I come down and we chat. and watch the cuties come down the escalator

    4 — Do for chocolate? If I REALLY had to have some, it would only be hot sand. Anything more and I would pass. Give me some fresh fruit anytime!

    6 — Favorite gifts? Definately BOOKS. However, I don’t usually wait to buy my books so that it makes it kind of hard for me to receive them as gifts. I do tell people that I like Books-A-Million gift cards; so that I can buy my books as they come out. :-) Coming in 2nd would be DVDs and CDs, and food in the form of gift cards is always good, too.

    She is a reader! I pass her books all the time. I met her years ago just by passing by her booth with the many children I’ve taken to that library. It is part of a group of city libraries. There are a total of 14. This one is walkable for me and has a great youth and children’s section. Two of the librarians have written a childrens book called “Terrible Horrible Smelly Pirate”. They work upstairs in the children’s library and do many programs with the children.

    Reading, the same…usually PJS though

    See, Janae, mine isn’t that sophisticated. I don’t do any soldering. I’d love to learn to do silversmithing and stuff like that, but I have no time. But I’m with you on the jewelry addiction. I’m definitely addicted!

    Where do I read / write ?

    I write in my home office for the most part, although I have been known to take chapters to work to edit on my breaks. I read in bed or again, on my breaks at work.

    What do I wear ?

    In my office or bed – PJs or sleep pants and a t-shirt and slippers. At work, that ugly Wal-Mart khaki and blue uniform. BLECH !

    Favorite beverage ? Milo’s iced tea or Earl Gray hot tea. I’m a tea totaller !

    For chocolate ? Depending on how desperate I am, all of the above!

    What would I do for a kiss from Hugh Jackman ? Swim to Australia across shark infested waters and I don’t swim! Top that Karen Hawkins !!

    What are my favorite gifts to receive ?

    Books – romance novels or Regency research books.
    CDs – Il Divo, Josh Groban, Kid Rock, Anything opera, anything Cajun/Zydeco
    DVDs of great movies
    Bath salts, oils, beads, etc.

    Sabrina, I have a tear shaped blue Peruvian opal that I want to make into a pendant. I don’t have the silversmithing skills to do it, but I did find a place that has classes that work with my schedule.:D Have you ever shopped at http://www.etsy.com/? I love it! Of course, ebay’s handcrafted jewelry section is another favorite of mine, too.

    Jane, my niece makes jewelry and sells it at fairs and some small shops in her hometown.
    I have a large oval amethyst waiting for a setting. Have no idea what I want to do with it.

    I like to read in bed in the winter and at the park in the summer.
    I usually write sitting on my recliner chair listening to classical or Robbie Williams music

    My P.J’s or anything comfy when I’m writing.

    I’ve given up Diet Coke for lent so now it’s coffee or water.

    What would I do for Chocolate?… Gee I hope I never have to find that out. It’s definetly one of my biggest weakness. Love my “Bliss” the dark of course it’s suppose to be healthier for me.

    Hugh Jackman is a cutey he does a great job in “Oklahoma” Yea, if he happened to walk pass me I would kiss him but I wouldn’t go out of my way for him……Now Robbie Williams OH Yea Baby….I would do just about anything.

    I love getting gifts….hint(my birthday’s in October) jewelry (diamonds) or (yellow gold) no clothes I better pick them out myself……books, cd’s or dvd’s is always a winner.
