For Refreshment Only Sunday sez . . .
Dec 28th 2008
Karen HawkinsGoddess Eye Candy
I’m fascinated with EHJ. (That’s Everything Hugh Jackman for those of you who’ve been asleep.) So when a friend of mine sent me this cartoon/real thing comparison of Hugh Jackman’s soon-to-be-released movie, WOLVERINE, I was enthralled and decided to share it with you guys.
Usually, when you do a fantasy v. reality comparison, fantasy wins. But this time . . . well, take a look at it yourself.
The Cartoon:
The Man:
For once, I found the real thing much more exciting than the fantasy, didn’t you?
Happy Fros, to one and all! I hope none of you found this little foray into reality too painful.

The man does wonders for that wife-beater tshirt. yum! What a perfect way to celebrate the last FROS of 2008. Thanks KH!!

Yes, he does look H-O-T!!!
I just wish there was another, better name for the undershirt than a wife-beater.
I had a feeling last night that we would be treated to Hugh baby today, Karen!
Which comes first, Wolverine or the Academy Awards show, I wonder?
Kathy/Cookiedough on 28 Dec 2008 at 8:21 am #
…and so glad he’s not dressed in bright yellow and blue!

He even looks mighty fine in a beard. You just can’t hide the sheer sexiness of the man.
JudyPatooty on 28 Dec 2008 at 8:33 am #
Yummy! You’re right, Karen. The REAL Hugh is vastly more sexy than the cartoon. I just want to nibble on that chest. Hugh is seriously yummy.
Freedom Writer on 28 Dec 2008 at 8:50 am #
There’s nothing like the real thing, baby.
Gannon on 28 Dec 2008 at 9:10 am #
This is definitely one time when I will pick reality over fantasy!!! Of course, Hugh Jackman IS my fantasy.
Judy F on 28 Dec 2008 at 9:18 am #
He is yummy. I will take him anyway I can get him.

Hugh is one of my favorite FROS! We are never let down by him. I love the muscles. Nice way to end 2008! Karen, you are brilliant!

Karen H – Vera nice! One more gift that keeps giving, I see!
Louisa Cornell on 28 Dec 2008 at 9:50 am #
Oh DEFINITELY the real thing!! Goodness gracious that chest is a veritable playground waiting to be played on for this old girl! Anybody want to use that body as a slide?
Thank you, Karen H! Stellar choice as always. MAY 1st ??? My DVDs of the X-Men movies will be worn to nothing by then!!
I guess I’ll have to go and see Australia a time or two or twelve!
TinaLouiseF on 28 Dec 2008 at 11:19 am #
Thank you KaHa.
I really enjoyed watching Hugh in “Australia”.

Because dh’s into the comic book thing, I’ve read a fair amount of the X-Men comic books (he even let me touch his X-Men #1 before it was put in the CGC plastic case.). Reality is a million times better than fantasy. I thank the directors and producers for bringing so much hotness in a series of films. And Hugh’s the yummiest of all . . . but I’ll still be checking Gambit out.

Kathy, around these parts we call those undershirts Guinea Tees but that actually a worse name than “wife beater” isn’t it?
I’m thinking Hugh would look lovely with some a French manicure. Kidding, Karen. He’s a looker!
Suzanne Enoch on 28 Dec 2008 at 12:01 pm #
Oh, my. That is nice.
You know, I’ve also been a fan of X-Men for years, and though I liked Wolverine, he was never really my thing. I’m a Gambit girl, as well. But since the movies came out, Wolverine has become much, much more interesting.
Now I can only hope that Gambit continues to look as good as he does in the “Wolverine” trailer.
Karen Hawkins on 28 Dec 2008 at 12:07 pm #
I was the same way — it was Gambit for me all the way. But then the movie came out and Wolverine was BY FAR the hottest thing on the screen — and not just because HJ played him, although that didn’t hurt — but because they made him such a conflicted character and a rebel. A real dangerous-to-know-hang-onto-your-heart sort of man.
Loved it!
It’ll be interesting to see Gambit, though, because in the comics, HE was the real hottie!
I can’t wait for MARCH!

*sigh*

One of my son’s first paintings was of the Wolverine in battle mode. He still has it although I have repeatedly asked for it.
Looking at Hugh is a good substitute. I can live with that.
Thanks Karen!

two words :Thanks Karen.
What a way to end 2008, what will you come up with for the first FROS for 2009?
Karen Hawkins on 28 Dec 2008 at 6:42 pm #
Ohhhh, Paula, I have a wonderful picture for the first day of 2009. It’s not too sexy, but it’ll really lift your heart and begin the new year off with a bang.
I promise!
SheridanLA on 28 Dec 2008 at 6:57 pm #
yeah, I had to go watch the X-Men today after this one.. and (because I have not followed the comic) I just now got the line when Wolverine asks if they really wear those uniforms in public and Cyclops asks “Would you prefer yellow spandex?”
NOW that makes sense. heheh.

OH MY STARS! He never fails to bring a HUGE grin to my face!

I read this on the other author site Running With Quills and for those who read her books I wanted to let everyone know and didn’t know where else to post it.
Our dear friend and sister Quill, Elizabeth Guest (Suzanne Guntrum) died during the night. We are in sorrow. We know that those of you who knew her in person or through her books will also miss her positive energy, optimism, wit, love of life and kindness. All of those things shone through in her writing

What sad news about Suzanne Simmons/Elizabeth Guest. She has some fantastic books under Suzanne Simmons and I just loved the new series under Elizabeth Guest. She will be missed.
Hugh looks great even with those big mutton chop side burns. I have always been a Wolverine fan due to his height. Logan is actually only 5ft.3 and like they say: “good things come in small packages”. And can he pack a punch.
Cher, I love Gambit. I am hoping they will do some of the Rogue/Gambit romance in any of the Marvel movies.

The man is waaaay better than the cartoon version.
What a way to end 2008. Here’s looking forward to more HJ FROS in 2009.
Any FROS with HJ in it is great!
How about some Daniel Craig?
Happy New Year!
