Name Your Faves

books.jpgI’ll bet some of you Goddesses and visitors to Mt. Oly are getting tired of me talking about my books, since I have three Courtship Wars romances out in a row.  I promise this is the last for a while!

So except for mentioning that TO SEDUCE A BRIDE officially goes on sale today, I’ll skip over the promo part and get straight to the good stuff! Specifically, another romance quiz.

So please name your favorite:

reader.jpg

1. Setting for a romance novel.

2. Hero’s name(s)

3. Heroine’s name(s)

4. Romance subgenre (paranormal, historical, contemporary single title or series, etc.)

1) You know, I don’t think I have a favorite setting…
2) I have many favs, the top 10 are, in no particular order, Valentine, Devlin, Logan, Damien, Tristan, Chase, Lucien, Devon, Benedict, Hayden
3) Arian, Daisy, Lily, Devon, Cameron
4) Mostly historical, a lil contemp and paranormal
5) Hmm…I like the new titles like The Seduction of… or Confessesions of… or The Secret [insert noun] of…

2. Chez on 25 Mar 2008 at 5:17 am #

1. England, definitely England, followed by Scottish Highlands.
2. Clay, Lucien/Lucias, etc.,
3. I like the stranger heroine names like Iphiginia, Honoria, don’t know why, but I do, perhaps as it denotes a shorthand for an individual, eccentric type which are my favs.
4. Paranormal, fantasy, historical
5. If they are in a series, I like them to make sense like all Christine Feehan’s carpathians being Dark ??? somethings, so I know what series they are in.

3. Freedom Writer on 25 Mar 2008 at 6:13 am #

1. Scotland, England, early US are some of my favorite locations.

2. Tyson, Simon, and Colin are some of my fave hero names.

3. Brianna, Lorelei and Cordelia are some of the heroine names that I like.

4. Historicals are number 1 with me, but I also like contemporary. I also like series where characters from other books make an appearance.

5. I like titles that involve word play and twists on well know phrases like Let Sleeping Rogues Lie, etc.

4. Lisa H on 25 Mar 2008 at 6:35 am #

1. Favorite setting - England, Paris, Rome
2. Hero’s names - Raurke, Michael
2. Heroine’s names - Victoria, Shanna, Elizabeth, Isabella, Angelina
4. Subgenre - Regency, Victorian, Georgian, Historical
5. Titles - It doesn’t matter. I like words like: passion, sensuous, longing, deeply (get the picture!) :)

5. Lisa H on 25 Mar 2008 at 6:37 am #

Congratulations Nicole…I like words like “seduce” too!

6. Keri Ford on 25 Mar 2008 at 7:02 am #

1. Setting for a romance novel. - No preference, but stay on this planet, please.

2. Hero’s name(s) - Valentine (you know, and I don’t know why, because the first time I read the name, it stopped me because I kept thinking of flowers/hearts/candy, but it’s stuck with me and I’ve never found the right character so I can use that name myself), Damien, Lucien, Clayton, Clark

3. Heroine’s name(s) - I like names I can pronounce, otherwise, it pulls me from the story as I keep trying to figure the right way to say the poor girl’s name when I see it.

4. Romance subgenre (paranormal, historical, contemporary single title or series, etc.) - Historical and contemporary

5. Romance title(s) - Doesn’t really matter to me. Unless there is a cuss word in the title then I’m less likely to pick it up. And to second what the other ladies above me said, when part of a series, I like the titles to be similiar.

7. Barbara Vey on 25 Mar 2008 at 7:10 am #

1. Scotland
2. Robert, David, James
3. Barbara (which almost never happens) :)
4. Historical/paranormal/suspense, ok, it really doesn’t matter
5. Seduce/historical, Moon/paranormal, catchy phrase/suspense

8. Susan K on 25 Mar 2008 at 7:18 am #

1. The Regency period is my favorite.

2. Tristan has always been my favorite.

3. I don’t really have a favorite heroine name.

4. Historical is my fave, followed by paranormal

5. Hmm….there are so many good ones….and wouldn’t you know I can’t think of a single one…darn cold has got my brain fogged.

Nicole- I will be running out on my lunch hour to get To Seduce A Bride! I can’t wait to read it!

9. jessie on 25 Mar 2008 at 7:28 am #

1. Regency London- I get bored when they’re in the countryside.
2. Rafe, Devon, Tristan, Gray, Jack
3. Victoria, Daisy, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Caroline
4. Always, always historical, unless it’s Nora Roberts, and then I will read contemporary.
5. I like Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series where the titles play on the names of movies. Other than that, I don’t really care. Well, some can get a little cheesy for me.

10. elsiehogarth on 25 Mar 2008 at 8:32 am #

Hi Nicole! I already have and started-To Seduce A Bride. Wow!

1. I love the Regency period but I really love Georgian time….powdered wigs, lots of jewelry, high heels, lots of cologne etc. and that just on the men.

2. Heroes Name: Gideon, Adrian, Blake, Devell, Benedict, Colin, Lucien, Julian, Tristan and Richard.

3. Heroines names: Whitney, Heather, Kate(Katherine), Caroline, Josephine, Arielle, Amanda, Victoria, Samantha and Belle.

4. Genre Favorites: Historicals are always first, Paranormal, Romantic Suspense and the Contemporaries.

5. My favorite titles are also my favorite books: Beauty & the Beast, Devilish-Jo Beverely and Ravished- Amanda Quick.

11. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 8:55 am #

Love these hero and heroine names! Hope you goddesses realize I’m taking notes for future books. I’ve only used a few of these before. *smile*

12. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 9:02 am #

>>>I like titles that involve word play and twists on well know phrases like Let Sleeping Rogues Lie, etc.

I’m with you, Free! I think that is a fab title. Wish I were clever enough to come up with word plays like that.

Maybe Sabrina will tell us how that title came into being.

For my book titles, I usually submit around 100-200 to my editor, and they’ll usually pick one from those. But some for publishers, the editors and other in-house folks are brilliant at coming up with perfect titles.

I remember Johanna Lindsay for one having great titles — such as KEEPER OF THE HEART. And Woodiweiss, too. A ROSE IN WINTER is just killer romantic.

13. Kelly Ann on 25 Mar 2008 at 9:23 am #

1. Setting for a romance novel. They must be in a foreign country! I especially like England and Scotland, though I have read wonderful historicals set in the Philippians and other exotic locations!
2. Hero’s name(s). I have a lot of favorites: Griffith, Douglas, Gareth, Sebastian & Jared
3. Heroine’s name(s). Some of my favorites are: Olympia, Annabelle, Rosalind & Regina.
4. Romance subgenre: My favorites are definitely historical and Medieval. I like Amanda Quick’s paranormal’s as long as she is doing a historical setting and I really like series, like the Courtship Wars and all of the ones that Sabrina has done (my favorite is the Swanlea Spinster series - excellent). Oh and I also like magical stories. Those can be so fun to read!
5. Romance title(s): Some of my favorites books and I have a lot, so I’ll just name a few: London’s Perfect Scoundrel (SE), Deception – Amanda Quick, A Dangerous Love (SJ), Bewitching and Just a Kiss Away – Jill Barnett. I could go on and on!!!

14. Kelly Ann on 25 Mar 2008 at 9:23 am #

I got cut off so last I wanted to say:

I really like fun titles, but they aren’t what draw my eye to a book, usually the cover art does that. It’s how I found Sabrina’s books because of the wonderful cover art!

15. Emmiebee on 25 Mar 2008 at 9:45 am #

Oh- thinking -hard choices!
1) Setting: make it rich, subtle and detailed, and I’m there! From other worlds (Sharon Shinn’s Archangel series, and Bujold’s Cordelia’s Honor), to other times (Regency, Rockefeller’s Newport, Ancient Rome), to other countries, as long as the picture is vivid, I’m happy!
2) Hero’s Names: I love when a hero has an unusual nickname, especially if it is family-given. We all know how hard those are to live down.
3) Heroine Names: Again, unusual names are my favorites. Love Josephine (my Mom’s name), and - shameless plug- I would LOVE to see my name (EMILIA) used in a book, and would buy ANY romance with such fabulous taste. Hah- just please don’t make her the skanky, pox-ridden villan!
4) Genre: Regency, paranormal, fantasy are favorites, but he, surprise me with something exciting and new!
5) Titles: clever plays on words- good! Descriptive of the book- good. Random, uninformative words -i.e. “The Passionate Seduction of the Steamy Love Muffin”- lame.

16. doglady on 25 Mar 2008 at 10:19 am #

It’s on sale today? YAY! Can’t wait! I LOVE this series. The heroes are just so DELICIOUS!

1. Setting : Regency England (Scotland,Wales, Ireland) Give me a gorgeous house, a sweeping estate.

2. Hero’s Names : Marcus (current WIP) Tristan (just started WIP) Dylan, Alex, Gaelen, Rhys, Matthew, Dougal

3. Heroine’s Name : Adelaide (current WIP) Madeline (just started) Eleanor, Tessa, Theadora (Teddy) Emily, Anne, Clementine, Julianna

4. Genre : Historical and paranormals - A Regency paranormal and you’ve got me!

5. Love clever series titles. Kim Harrison’s paranormal series based on Clint Eastwood movies come to mind - Dead With Walking, The Good, The Bad, and the Undead, Every Which Way But Dead, A Fistful of Charms and The Outlaw Demon Wails. I love those!

17. evlqn on 25 Mar 2008 at 10:30 am #

Congratulations Nicole! I have to go to Walmart today and I NEVER pass the book aisle without stopping. Yes I have a problem and there is probably a 12 step program for it, but I’m not trying for a cure.
1) Any where on this planet or another. Past, present, future fine with me.

2) Ian, Quentin, Alexander, Magnus, distinctive names. Family names are fun, my son, Quentin, is still trying to live down, Punkin. There are only three people on the planet who won’t die horribly if they use the name.

3) Isabella, Sophia, Alice, Katherine.

4) Paranormal, fantasy, timetravel, and just about anything that is well written.

5) I like my titles to tell me a little about what to expect. And if they are part of a series I want to be able to know right a way. And please no “Sheik’s Mistress/ Captive/ Concubine”!

18. KariE on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:18 am #

Oh, Nicole, we can never get tired of a Goddess talking about her works. I’m very excited that the 3rd book is out today.

1. Setting for a romance novel: For historicals, England/Scotland, for contemps., US cities

2. Hero’s name(s): I don’t have a favorite, but wouldn’t want to see Billy in a historical. William would be ok but not Billy as a nickname. It seems to contemporary for my tastes.

3. Heroine’s name(s): Any name that can have a cute nickname drawn from it. Examples fail me.

4. Romance subgenre: historical and contemporary are my fav’s. A single title or series makes no difference to me. If it is a series, the more I get to enjoy the author/setting/characters.

5. Romance title(s): This one is tricky for me becuase I have chosen books based on the title and they have turned out to be stinkers (to me anyway), but on the other hand, I have read some that were great that didn’t have an appealing title. Rake, Scoundrel, Lord, Hero tend to draw my attention.

19. Sandy "Snik" White on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:19 am #

Congratulations Nicole! May this release have as much success as the previous ones too!

1. Setting for a romance novel. - Ireland, England, Italy or Scotland countryside

2. Hero’s name(s) - Cole, Lucien, Jacoby, Christian and Stone

3. Heroine’s name(s) - Loralei, Isabella, Emma and of course Sandra (cause its easier to pretend its me if she has my name right?)

4. Romance subgenre (paranormal, historical, contemporary single title or series, etc.) - I prefer historical or contemoprary. I am not a big paranormal fan, but some have surprised me.

5. Romance title(s) - I haven’t given this much thought, but there are words I don’t prefer to see in the title such as, “affair” “maid/maiden” or “servant”

20. KariE on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:26 am #

I have a stupid question, Nicole. (Actally anyone can answer it) Will I be looking for a blue cover or more of a fuschia cover? On the back of TPAL and TBAB it is a fuschia color, but on here and at the forum it is blue. It might save me a bit of time finding it (as I am supposed to be working out :P).

Thanks!!

21. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:33 am #

>>Will I be looking for a blue cover or more of a fuschia cover? On the back of TPAL and TBAB it is a fuschia color, but on here and at the forum it is blue.

Good question, KariE! The on-line jpg file covers make Seduce look blue, but it’s really more of a purple/ pinkish purple, just like on the back of Beauty. But I don’t think you’ll have any trouble recognizing it, since my name really stands out, lol. I tried to get Ballantine to soften the font for these books, make it prettier and more romantic. But they like the bold. And it IS hard to miss, so I suppose I should be grateful.

Speaking of grateful, thank you, thank you, thank you to all the goddesses who have bought or plan to buy Book3! And thank you also for all the good wishes. Now I just hope the story does justice to all your great support!

22. limecello on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:37 am #

1. I don’t particularly have a favorite setting either… I do like England for historicals, and the Mediteranean - but I’m open to any place, really.

2. Lucien and Maximilian come to mind - more regency names, because otherwise character names make me think of people I know, and that’s not necessarily always a good thing

3. I don’t have favorite names, but… there are some I don’t like too much -ones that don’t fit, such as the uber trendy girl names now - or giving girls “boy” names. That’s something that is much more common now- but generally the heroine is in her 20s-30s. Realistically, the heroine might be 7. I’m not so much a fan of that, but I can get over it easily enough.

4. I read historicals, contemporaries, single titles, series, and paranormals. I’m not big on action/adventure, mysteries or suspense, however.

5. I like titles by Lisa Kleypas, Jennifer Crusie, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips (though I don’t know most of those songs :X)

23. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:39 am #

>>> “The Passionate Seduction of the Steamy Love Muffin”- lame.

LOL, EmiB! Love it! And I have to say that when I’m trying to come up with titles for my own books, I sometimes feel I’m stretching that far! You should see my title lists! Some of them would give Steamy Love Muffin a run for its money.

>>And please no “Sheik’s Mistress/ Captive/ Concubine”!

Had to laugh here, too, Evlqn. I love many of the Harlequin/Silhouette category/series lines, but they’ve really had to stretch for titles for years now. It’s a joke among some H/S authors about their helplessness when it comes to choosing titles and covers.

24. Lisa H on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:45 am #

Oh doglady - I love Tessa too for heroine’s name.

25. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 11:47 am #

>>>Devon

Judy, I tried to use this for one of my very first books, which was a Regency. And my editor wouldn’t let me since she was a real stickler for time periods. She wouldn’t let me use “decollatage” either for a book that was set in 1818, because according to Websters 9th, it didn’t come into common usage until 1826. I think that was carrying accuracy a little too far!

As for other heroes’ names, I really am writing these down. I wound up with “Heath” for SEDUCE because I’d run out of names I liked. Or I’d used them for secondary characters for books I thought I might right someday but never was able to. Plus at the time, Heath Ledger was my model for SEDUCE’s hero. Boy, that was a shocker when he passed away about the time the book was being typeset.

Well, ladies, you are not going to believe this! I just got a phone call from a member of the RWA board! My novel LOST IN LOVE is a finalist in the Golden Heart!! I cannot believe it! I made the poor lady, Cindy Rutledge, repeat herself because I was shaking so bad I thought I misheard her!

27. Emmiebee on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:09 pm #

Doglagy-WhooHoooooooo!!! You are amazing! I just know that we are watching the early glimmers of Stardom- and we can all say, “Yeah, I blogged with her WAYYYY back”. Hey Goddesses, I would like to nominate Doglady for an Honorary Toga today- what do you think?

28. Sandy "Snik" White on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:13 pm #

CONGRATS DOGLADY!! That is an AWESOME achievement!

I second Emmiebee’s motion for an honorary toga!!!

WOO HOO!!! Doglady, I am so happy for you! That is just the most awesome news!

Btw, have the dogs come out of hiding yet? I know they’re going to be happy for you too - once they get over the trauma. lol

Blog Hi-Jack - Congrats to Karen Rose - RITA finalist for DIE FOR ME. Woo-Hoo! Go collect that statue :-)

31. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:37 pm #

Wow, what FABULOUS news, DL!!! This is so exciting! And now we’ll be able to share a little bit in your success when you’re a star, cause we knew you when.

So I have a bunch of questions:

What name are you going to write under?
What’s the hero’s name in this one?
What are you going to do to celebrate?

And now all the goddesses who are going to RWA in July will be rooting for you on awards night.

That’s also tres cool about our very own KarenR being a RITA finalist!!!

Whoohoo, togas and margueritas and nector all around!!! Not to mention CHOCOLATE!!

32. Sheridan LA on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:39 pm #

1. Setting:
I would say Great Britain, sometimes New England, or larger cities for contemporary

2. Hero’s :
James, Gavin, Gregory, Alex, Max

3. Heroine’s:
I am all for the ones I can pronounce (not a romance, per se, but I had a hard time with the Harry Potter books until I found out how to pronounce Hermione!) I also found one that used my name (Sheridan) but had a hard time getting into it for some reason. I think because her personality was very different from mine - it made it just “off”

4. Romance subgenre:
contemporary humorous ones I love, some paranormal, some romantic suspense. Series are fine, but I hate it when I stumble upon a series and find the first installments are out of print (even if it was only a year or two since introduced)

5. title: Easier for ones I don’t like much.. I don’t like them TOO flowery/sexy… leave that for between the covers (pun intended) Hard to talk about reading “The Rose Deflowered” or “Seduction of the Rogue” at the watercooler. ;)

33. Sheridan LA on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:40 pm #

oh, one more thing.. I am rather new on here, but congratulations to doglady!! Rather awesome when a labor of love gets noticed.

34. KariE on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:43 pm #

Congrats dl and KarenR!!!!! Way to go!!! I second and third the above mentioned!!!

35. KariE on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:44 pm #

Welcome, Sheridan LA!! Glad you have joined us!!

36. elsiehogarth on 25 Mar 2008 at 12:58 pm #

Congratulations all around for all the good news.

I forgot…..I love the name Sebastian. One of my favorite heroes-Sebastian “Devil” Cynster-Stephanie Laurens. Christian, Duncan, Magnus and Maximillian are also great. For a heroine I forgot Christina and Julianna-my nieces name.

37. Sabrina Jeffries on 25 Mar 2008 at 1:02 pm #

Welcome, Sheridan! Congrats to doglady and KarenR! Here’s hoping that we hear more finalists as the calls go out. When we find out everybody, we’ll post them on the forum or somewhere!

As for the title to Let Sleeping Rogues Lie, I used a proverb book (seriously, I did) and just tried some until I could make one fit. Since I have weird requirements for the heiress titles (they have to be an “instruction” to girls), it was harder than it looks, but proverbs (”neither a lender nor a borrower be,” for example) work pretty well.

1. Setting for a romance novel: I like most settings, with my least fave being medieval or western, although I have a couple of faves in both those categories

2. Hero’s name(s): as long as they’re period correct, I’m not too picky. I don’t like Ralph, though.

3. Heroine’s name(s): same as above

4. Romance subgenre: historical, definitely, but I will also read any of the others

5. Romance title(s): I tend to like the ones based on movie titles. :-)

38. doglady on 25 Mar 2008 at 1:20 pm #

Woo Hoo for Karen Rose!! Die For Me is SO going to win the Rita! I loved it even if it did scare me half to death!

Thank you all so very much for the congrats! Everyone at The Goddess Blogs has been so supportive and encouraging and you have no idea how much that means on the days when I think “What made me think I could ever do this!”

Okay, The name of the novel is LOST IN LOVE.

The hero’s name is Marcus Aurelius David Winfield formerly Major Winfield of His Majesty’s Cavalry, hero of Waterloo and now, thanks to the untimely death of his beloved older brother, Duke of Selridge.

I am going to write under the name LOUISA CORNELL.

As soon as I find the chocolate I hid from myself I am going to celebrate by eating every last bite of it!! I am about to run down to the bookstore to pick up some books, including your latest, Nicole. What better way to celebrate?

39. ct009ct on 25 Mar 2008 at 1:53 pm #

Nicole, Congratulations on TSAB coming out today - Hope it doesn’t take me as long to get a hold of as Sabrina’s LSRL. Looking forward to it.

Doglady! WOW! Amazing and Congrats!
Congrats to KarenR, too! Good Luck! (Or do you say “Break a Pen” in the writing world)

Sabrina, I don’t like the name Ralph for a Heroine either! LOL

1) anywhere

2+3) not picky

4) historicals

5) I’m with Freedom Writer and or Sabrina

40. Marie on 25 Mar 2008 at 2:06 pm #

1. Setting for a romance novel.-Revolution

2. Hero’s name(s)-Mine is Jacob, Michel so right now those

3. Heroine’s name(s)-Mine is Abigail

4. Romance subgenre (paranormal, historical, contemporary single title or series, etc.)-paranormal or historical

5. Romance title(s)-Doesn’t matter I don’t remember titles.

41. ladydawgfan on 25 Mar 2008 at 2:45 pm #

1. Setting for a romance novel: Usually Regency, although I have read some in the later 1800’s that I have enjoyed.

2. Hero’s name(s): Like Sabrina, I need them to be period accurate. Today’s trendy names in a Regency hero just wouldn’t cut the mustard!!

3. Heroine’s name(s): See #2 above. Also, BOTH male and female names must be pronounceable. I have a BIG problem with names that I can’t pronounce in my mind at a glance. Think nails on chalkboard, and then picture a book flying against a wall.

4. Romance Subgenre: Mostly historical and historical series, although I do like some contemps and several contemp series are absolutely wonderful.

5. Romance titles: Keep it relevent to the contents of the book and I’m a happy camper!! See how easy I am to please?? ;)

42. ladydawgfan on 25 Mar 2008 at 2:50 pm #

BTW, MONGO Congrats to both K-Ro and Doglady!!! You both Rock, Roll, and Rumble!! And that’s a GOOD thing, believe me!!!

Now just relax and picture those RITA trophies on your respective mantles!! And enjoy the Chocolate buzz!!!

43. PJ on 25 Mar 2008 at 3:30 pm #

CONGRATS to Karen R! I still haven’t read Die For Me. My friend’s husband nabbed it from me before I could read it and now his brother has it. They both LOVE it!

44. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 3:49 pm #

Very cool, DL aka LouisaC!! Love your hero’s name, too. *smile*

>>>the days when I think “What made me think I could ever do this!”

Don’t know if this will be inspirational or depressing, but this doesn’t change much over the years, no matter how many books or successes you have! This is the totally natural neuroses of the romance writer.

45. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 3:52 pm #

Welcome, Sheridan! We hope you enjoy Mt. Oly for a long time. Love your name by the way.

ct, thanks for the congrats! It really is good to finally have sent this 3rd book out into the world, since I started writing the new series two years ago.

And “Break a Pen” works perfectly, lol.

46. Nicole Jordan on 25 Mar 2008 at 3:54 pm #

And as long as we’re congratulating goddesses for their showing in the GH’s and RITA’s, drumroll please…..

Rachel Gibson’s TANGLED UP IN YOU is a RITA finalist, too!!

And that’s another title I love. Love the book, too!

47. Karen Hawkins on 25 Mar 2008 at 3:55 pm #

Woohoo! Congrats DL and Karen Ro!!!!! That is SO COOL!

Nicole, what a cool quiz!

Let’s see . . . 1) anywhere, though I’m partial to Scotland. Three words: Men In Kilts

2) Hero’s names . . . Well, I like different ones. Dougal, Alexander, Lucien, and Duncan are some of my favorites.

3) Heroine’s names . . . Arabella, Sabrina, Venetia, Sophia — names you don’t normally hear today.

Congrats, Doglady!!!! You must be flying! I’m so happy for you.

And huge congrats to Rachel and Karen R, way to GO!

My favs—

Setting: I like the standard settings of America and Britain. There’s a reason most romances are set there!

Hero/Heroine names: I’m not at all picky. I just like them to fit the period. A Courtney for a heroine in 1750 Ireland would throw me.

Subgenre: not at all picky. I truly like them all.

Title: Not at all choosy about that either. It’s handy when the title is different enough for me to remember it when I’m shopping.

1. England, Scotland or at Sea.

2. and 3. I am not that picky about names. As long as it fits the character, I am happy.

4. historicals and i love a good series too.

5. Again, I am not that picky about titles but I like something that grabs my attention immediately.

62. KariE on 26 Mar 2008 at 7:43 am #

1. Best locale- Egypt, Scotland
2. Best hero name- Julian, Dominic, Aiden
3. Best Heroine name- Savannah, Joley, Alexandra
4. Paranormals
5. I love the titles to fit, but not be too “riske” I really like the clever ones, but I don’t ever pick a book by the title.

Better late than never?! Heh

65. Brionnie on 27 Mar 2008 at 12:57 pm #

1. highlands or british aristocracy
2. Jamie, and caleb, and i love names where at the first chapter i think “wow thats a dorky name” then by the end of the book i’m thinking “wow that (archibald, ronald, arnold) is a real man, whoo.”
3. Not plain modern names like brittany, Lauren, Lindsey, or Jessica.
4. Historical all the way. some times a small amount of fantasy.
5. Anything with wicked in it ha ha. I went through a phase where when i bought books that is the word i would look for and they were good enough t orecommend 9 times out of 10.
