Suzanne’s Mad Movie Roundup

I’ll admit it straight up: I haven’t seen some of the movies considered by critics to be “the best” of 2007. But I have seen a few of them, and boy can they get it wrong. So here’s my opinion on a couple of the year’s most notable, in no particular order.

No Country for Old Men – I generally like the Coen brothers, and I’m a big fan of Tommy Lee Jones. But this movie is the 2007 version of The Emperor’s New Clothes. It doesn’t make any sense and has an EXTREMELY unsatisfying ending. But nobody wants to admit that maybe they’re the only ones who don’t get it, so they say it’s the best American movie ever. Good acting, stupid movie.

300.jpg300 - This one reminded me of the first time I saw The Matrix – blown away. Yes, it was violent, but I’ve never seen a better visual rendering of what larger than life mythology looks like. And it was for the most part a true story.

todd.jpgSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Another gory one, and one of the few movies that’s made me glad not to live in London during the reign of Victoria. At least not as a poor person who might eat meat pies. But it was still a great movie.

I Am Legend - I’ve always liked Will Smith, and he carries this one well, even being on screen alone for most of the movie. And this version has a better ending than the Vincent Price one.

yuma.jpg3:10 to Yuma - The best western since Silverado. Russell Crowe can rob my bank any day.

I know I haven’t mentioned a ton of 2007 movies, but I’m not the only goddess critic around. Tell me some of your favorites. And least favorites. And which ones do you think will win Oscars?

Suzanne, you are so spot on when it comes to No Country for Old Men. I just didn’t get it! I LOVED 300 and my nephew is the one who said “Aunt Pam, you HAVE to see this movie.” Then we talked about the Spartan way of life. He was fascinated. Now me, in addition to everything else I got to drool over Gerard Butler. Never a bad thing. Cannot wait to see Sweeney Todd! 3:10 to Yuma comes out on DVD tomorrow so I will definitely get it. Thanks for the heads up on that one. Haven’t seen I Am Legend either. Will probably wait for the DVD. I LOVED Amazing Grace. Just a wonderful, wonderful film about the human spirit and perseverance. Also loved Becoming Jane.

OMG! You just made me realize that I have not seen a single movie this year. I will have to pick up Yuma. I love me some cowboys!!!

  3. ladydawgfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 8:05 am #

Ellen, you HAVE to see Amazing Grace!! Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! One of the few times I have actually joined the rest of the theater in applauding once the credits started rolling!!!!

I asked Santa for it for Christmas, but it wasn’t under the tree. It is now on my TBB list once my checkbook recovers from the Christmas season, as is 3:10 to Yuma (Russell Crowe - Yummm!).

  4. Gannon on 09 Jan 2008 at 8:15 am #

There are so many movies that I’ve missed, including some of the above, that I’m dying to see.

I loved ENCHANTED–thought it was a fun movie, and I’m pretty sure it will win something.

I did see 300, and the visual effects were wild! And of course, a movie full of buff men, barely dressed cannot be a bad thing!

I really want to see Atonement. I’m sure it will be depressing as all get out, but I don’t care. I’ve decided I’ll see the movie first and then read the book later. Every time I read a book before I see the movie, I’m a bit disappointed.

  5. cail on 09 Jan 2008 at 8:25 am #

Hm, I haven’t seen all that many movies this year, but the ones that stand out for me were: Knocked up, Superbad, and Harry Potter 5, all of which i asked for for xmas, and didn’t get.

My issue with Sweeney Todd was mostly due to the fact that I’ve seen (wonderfully) performed stage versions with great singers many times, and Helena just can’t sing to save her life. the Mrs Lovett character in the Tim Burton movie really ruined the rest of it for me. That being said, I thought the colors were wonderful, and the supporting cast was great. Sadly the two leads lost me with their musicality. But then, I’m often very critical of movie musicals where they have lousey singers, as it was what I studied in college. Johnny Depp was really just a cross of Jack Sparrow (who i really do love, but had no place in ST) and Edward Scissorhands…

    ok i’ll stop now.

  6. Lisa H on 09 Jan 2008 at 8:52 am #

CAIL - I must respectfully DISAGREE with your review of Sweeny Todd. I thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen and the singing of Helena and Johnny was superb! I thought Johnny sang from his heart and I could hear his raw passion and pain—it was wonderful. I was caught up in the emotion for a whole day after seeing it, and even though I generally don’t care for Tim Burton, I thought his version of Sweeney Todd was perfection. I would be very surprised if Johnny and Helena were not nominated for Oscars.

On the flip side, I also saw Mr. Magorium’s Emporium with my kids and loved it. Although it wasn’t an especially deep movie, it was very sweet and kind and the I love the message that we should believe the unbelievable.

  7. ladydawgfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:07 am #

I went back and googled the movies of 2007 and realized that I had only seen 4 movies in the theater:

    Amazing Grace (Awesome, incredible, fantastic!!)
    Bourne Ultimatum (Fantastic)
Firehouse Dog (10 yr old niece *shrugs*)
    Harry Potter

I wanted to see four others but they left town before I got the chance:

    Elizabeth 2: The Golden Age
    Enchanted
300 (bought a copy on Black Friday)
    3:10 to Yuma
    Becoming Jane

There isn’t a whole lot coming out of Hollyweird that I am looking forward to, and unless the cele-brats in Tinseltown clean up their acts and climb off their self-constructed soap boxes, I don’t really care what they produce.

  8. jessie e on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:13 am #

I loved the influx of Judd Apatow movies this year. Superbad is like this generation’s American Graffiti (except a lot dirtier, and less serious). Michael Cera and Jonah Hill are hilarious. Knocked Up is great, too. I love the relationship between Katherine Heigl’s beautiful, put-together girl and Seth Rogen’s slacker, perpetually high boy.

I also think this year’s Harry Potter is the best of the bunch.

Enchanted is this great feel-good fairy tale, and we don’t have enough of those anymore.

Finally, I lovedlovedloved Hairspray. Zac Efron (although, I just found out that he wears a lot of make-up when he’s not on camera, and that’s a little off-putting) and James Marsden just get me going. And I can never get enough of Christopher Walken.

  9. SnikWhite on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:16 am #

August Rush: Be prepared with kleenex, but the soundtrack itself is enough to move you to tears.

300: There is nothing bad about Gerard Butler in a loin cloth and might I add that a movie that moves you to do research and actually seek out additional knowledge is an achievement.

PS I Love You: Typical chick flick, but again Gerard Butler makes an appearance AND if you are one of the lucky ones to see 300 and can visualize that love scene from 300 while watching him in this, you won’t be able to take the smile off your face.

National Treasure Book of Secrets: Love a good mystery and a sucker for riddles, this movie totally measured up to the first one and was even laugh out loud funny…

HAHA look at me trying to be Siskel. Those were my favorites…can’t wait for I am Legend, Charlie Wilson’s War and Atonement.

  10. Karen Rose on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:33 am #

I only saw two - ENCHANTED and RATATOUILLE and I loved them both. ENCHANTED I want to see again when my book is done.

  11. Julia London on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:57 am #

I’ve seen three recently: Atonement, Juno, and The Kite Runner

I tried to read Atonement and could never get into it, but the movie was really good — but the filming is a lot of back and forth in time, and I got confused toward the end.

Juno: Absolutely wonderful. I wish I could write like that. Really a great little film.

The Kite Runner: Read this book and the movie was just like the book — if you can take subtitles (a lot of it is in Afghani or whatever they speak) but really powerful.

  12. Freshechelle on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:58 am #

Karen R, did you catch Law & Order last night? When they found the serial killer’s lair, it was as if you wrote the set design instructions - straight out of your books.

  13. cail on 09 Jan 2008 at 10:09 am #

i totally forgot about Ratatuille and Enchanted. Both great flicks.

  14. claudia dain on 09 Jan 2008 at 10:28 am #

Suz, I think you make a great point about No Country for Old Men; every writer, published or not, who I know who’s seen it says it’s seriously flawed and nearly illogical. Huh. Maybe writers are the only ones who can see that the Emperor is naked?

300, loved that movie for the exact same reasons you mentioned.

Saw Enchanted and Ratatouille and loved them both.

Elizabeth:the Golden Age was good, but I think it tried to cover too much, with the result that it weakened the emotional intensity. Clive Owens as Walter Raleigh…wow.

Bourne Ultimatum: loved it. Love all the Bournes. I wish they would keep making Bourne movies every year until the day I die. Is that too much to ask?

  15. Mia Rose on 09 Jan 2008 at 10:51 am #

300 had to be my ultimate favorite of 2007… 2nd to the fact that it was full of rippled 3/4 naked men, I thought the mixture of fantasy and reality was perfectly orchestrated within the storyline.

Added to the list of good movies I *did* manage to see (i.e. husband wanted to see as well) Pirates 3 and the hundredth Harry Potter movie, which I both liked a lot.

I unfortunately didn’t get to see Sweeney, Becoming Jane, Atonement, P.S. I Love You or Enchanted… as I coudln’t find anyone around willing to see them with me. Hopefully soon though, but worst case I’ll wait until they’re out on video and watch them by myself.
This really makes me realize I need to make it out to the movies way more often…

  16. SuzyQ on 09 Jan 2008 at 10:55 am #

Sadly, the only movies I saw this year at the theater was The Bee Movie, and imo it wasn’t even that great, but the kids loved it. I usually wait for the movies to come out on DVD - hey! better food, more comfortable seats and I can rewind if I miss something!!!

One of my favorite movies this year was Transformers. Didn’t think I’d like it but I was wrong - boy was I wrong. Great special effects!

And on the subject of the Oscars - Do you think they will have them this year? I heard they cancelled the Golden Globe Awards.

  17. DebMarlowe on 09 Jan 2008 at 10:58 am #

Oh, I love the movies! But I don’t get into the actual theater near enough!

Loved Amazing Grace! I had started a book with a heroine who grew up in the Evangelical/Reformer societies about 2 months before I found out about this movie, so the timing was perfect for me! I asked for it for xmas and got it, but haven’t had time for a rewatch. I’m waiting for a completely uninterrupted couple of hours. Someday!

Becoming Jane–I had mixed feelings about this one. A case where you wish you didn’t know so much before you went in.

Harry Potter–I thought they did a great job with a complicated plot. Those kids are just so appealing.

Enchanted–so charming! The actors just threw themselves into it and the all the cameos were great fun!

I am Legend–scared the crap out of me! I am such a wimpy girl! But Will Smith is great.

So many more I want to see! I think I just thought of a new New Year’s Resolution…

  18. zambonigirl on 09 Jan 2008 at 11:27 am #

Hot Fuzz! I laughed. I cried. I knew.

  19. Kim on 09 Jan 2008 at 11:38 am #

The only movie I saw in the theatre was Harry Potter. I’m much more willing to spend $15 to buy a DVD and watch it in the comfort of my lazy-boy:D

Don’t throw tomatoes but I hated 300. The visual effects were great and Gerald’s 8-pack was scrumptious but he was just a stupid king who made stupid decisions. My son loves it and watches it often, I just hated it. Please don’t hate me!

Harry Potter–good movie but I hate how much of the book is lost. These would have made much better mini-series for us readers.

Transformers–LOVE it! This was my unexpected favorite of the year.

    Oceans 13–Loved it!

Reign Over Me–I’m not sure if this was 2006 or 2007 but it was really good and IMO, Adam Sandler deserves an Oscar. He really proved he can act and extremely well at that.

Movies I’m really looking forward to: P.S. I Love You, Fred Claus, Enchanted and a slew of others I’m blanking on right now.

Did anyone see they just released the first season of The Tudors on DVD?

  20. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 12:09 pm #

Kim and SuzyQ, I really liked “Transformers” as well! Did you know that so many people asked for the musical score (as opposed to the songs) that they had to issue a second album? Great music.

I feel like I’ve betrayed my genre, but I haven’t seen either “Becoming Jane” or “Amazing Grace”. I was just too deep in deadline. I have AG now — hopefully this weekend.

  21. Julia London on 09 Jan 2008 at 12:31 pm #

Kim, I was looking for The Tudors in Best Buy last week and they didn’t have it! I am so thrilled they are releasing it. For some reason, the old man doesn’t thin we ought to pay for Showtime just to get the Tudors (like we paid to get HBO for the sopranos years ago and still have it). I’ve been dying to see it!

  22. cail on 09 Jan 2008 at 12:46 pm #

netflix netflix netflix ladies. best invention ever! when my roommate moved out i got rid of our HBO and SHO since it was costing me too much per year for the very few hrs that i watched it.

also, knowing people who work in film and tv help. i have a projector set up for movies in one of my rooms. all my friends who need to watch movie screeners to vote on the awards have been bringing movies over to watch on my big wall. nothing quite like a very private screening of the nominated films…

  23. Mia Rose on 09 Jan 2008 at 12:49 pm #

Hmmm… I’m a little embarassed to admit it, but I had to look up what Amazing Grace even was, as for some reason I had never heard of it. And it looks fantastic. I have no idea where I was hiding when that came out, but it’s now on my list of movies to see.
I sure hope these movies are coming out on video soon!

BTW Julia, I am one of those people who pays for Showtime (despite it’s horrible movie list) so that I can watch The Tudors and Californication when they’re on.
Just like we pay an outrageous amt of money for the NFL Sunday Ticket every year so I can see Brett Favre weekly.
    :D

  24. colinfirthfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 12:55 pm #

Have to agree about Transformers. Fabulous movie. I have seen it at least 3 times courtesy of my 7 year old who insists on watching it frequently!

I liked Ratatouille. I want to see Enchanted but I saw the other fairy movie with Claire Daines and Michelle Pfeifer. It was nice too.

Saw Bourne Ultimatum - was OK. Prefer the books.

Read Kite Runner loved the book - don’t think I can watch the movie as yet (still trying to recover from the book)

Loved Harry Potter and Ocean’s 13 as well.

    Shrek the third was ok.

  25. anneriailin on 09 Jan 2008 at 1:29 pm #

I, too, loved Enchanted. Just a fun movie and made you feel good!

I agree with most everybody else about Elizabeth:The Golden Age, Amazing Grace, Becoming Jane, PotC3, HP5, National Treasure 2 etc. I guess I saw more movies on the big screen than I thought.

One movie nobody has mentioned is Death at a Funeral. It’s a British movie and was hilarious. I loved it. Comedy of errors and all that. Even my son loved it and I had to bribe him and drag him to see it with me.

Nobody mentioned Golden Compass either. It was good. They strayed from the book, but still a good movie.

I never know who will win and the movies that win I haven’t usually seen. Ah well.

I want to see Atonement and P.S. I Love You before they leave the theatres. Hopefully, I can do that!

    –dorothy

  26. RachelG on 09 Jan 2008 at 1:43 pm #

I haven’t been to an actual theater to see a movie in forever. The last movie I rented was the movie Superbad, which I watched with my son.

    rachelg

  27. MarthaH on 09 Jan 2008 at 1:44 pm #

Most of the movies I get to see at the cinema are either action or horror flicks and generally not my choice to see - by this you can guess who I go with - right? But a night out is a night out! Anyway, I did get the chance to see The Kingdom with Orlando Bloom and I thought it was great.

Though by reading some of the opinions on movies seen, I have some serious video rental time ahead of me (oh well, sleep is kinda over rated anyway).

As to The Tudors (fabulous series BTW) I live in Canada and the show is available through basic TV channel programming free on the CBC.

  28. Karen Rose on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:04 pm #

Fresh - you mean L&O on TNT or on network? Waaaa, I missed it! I was flipping through the channels and saw DROP DEAD GORGEOUS was on the comedy channel and I watched that. Had to take a break from teh WIP - fingers frozen.

I love DDG!! Even though they changed a lot of the great lines because it was on regular TV, it was still hilarious. Tammy on the thresher, BOOM. “Soylent Green, it’s PEOPLE!” and the best, “Are we on COPS?” Love that flick. Sorry, didn’t mean to deviate from the main topic!

  29. SuzyQ on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:15 pm #

colinfirthfan - the movie with Michelle Pfeiffer was Stardust. I just watched this recently and thought it was well done.

  30. Julia London on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:18 pm #

colinfirth, the movie Kite Runner is pretty true to the book and leaves nothing to the imagination. It was gripping, I thought.

Have you read A thousand splendid suns? Now THAT one I don’t think I could watch.

  31. colinfirthfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:29 pm #

That’s right - Stardust. I quite liked it. Especially Robert DeNiro’s character.
Oh and I saw The Seeker: The Darkness is Rising also (average movie)

Julia, I heard A Thousand Splendid Suns was even more depressing so I haven’t yet had the courage to pick it up. (which is why I normally just read romance or fantasy :) )
    **************
    ***SPOILER ***
    **************
I don’t think I could bear to watch parts of Kite Runner - especially the parts when he goes back. I wouldn’t sleep for days. When I am reading I am careful not to get too visual with some parts. If I had to see it…. *shudder*

  32. Kim on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:33 pm #

Amazing Grace–You know, I didn’t care for this movie either. I was prepared to be blown away and wasn’t. Maybe my expectations were too high.

RachelG-what did you think of Superbad? I saw about 15 minutes of it the other night with my son and his friend. It reminded me of Clerks. Is it worth watching?

  33. zambonigirl on 09 Jan 2008 at 2:43 pm #

Count me in as one more who could have done without Amazing Grace. I did LOVE Music and Lyrics, though. I actually have the “Pop Goes My Heart” song on my ipod.

And I’ll totally agree with Ocean’s 13. JEREMY IRONS, people! Jerrrrrrrremy Irrrrrrons. *imaginary rolling of R’s* Jerrrrrrrrrrrremy. Irrrrrrrrons.

Oh-I did see on the ELOVE channel (or something) a version of Twelfth Night that knocked my socks off. It’s about ten years old, but it featured Ben Kingsley singing and dancing and basically being everything you’d expect Ben Kingsley wouldn’t be. Need I say it was several different kinds of awesome? Here’s a youtube of the ending scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMmeeqG_lE0

    tell me it’s not awesome.

  34. RachelG on 09 Jan 2008 at 3:59 pm #

    Kim,

I did like it. I like those sort of movies which is odd because I don’t like slapstick nor potty humor. I guess I kind of like the nerdy humor of it. Can’t wait to see JUNO.

  35. colinfirthfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:11 pm #

I liked Music and Lyrics but thought it was a typical chick flick as well. :)

  36. Julia London on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:15 pm #

Rachel I predict you will really like Juno. Seems to be your kind of humor. :-)

  37. anneriailin on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:16 pm #

zamblonigirl….I love that version of Twelfth Night with Ben Kingsley. Loved it enough that when I found it on dvd I bought it!

    –dorothy

  38. anneriailin on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:16 pm #

oops….sorry about the misspelling of your name zambonigirl. :(

  39. Sabrina Jeffries on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:18 pm #

I didn’t see many movies this year, but here are my assessments:

    Amazing Grace–Amazing!

No Country for Old Men–I really can’t tell you. I liked it up until very near the ending, when I misunderstood something that happened, and that changed the entire movie for me. Now I don’t know if I’d still like it. I’m not sure I would. The Coen brothers mostly hit but occasionally miss for me. The movies of theirs that I’ve seen that I loved (Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?), I really loved. The one I saw that I DIDN’T love, I hated (Barton Fink). So there you go.

Stardust–Adorable! A bit forgettable, but adorable

Sicko–brilliant, but then I love everything Michael Moore does

I think that’s it. Wow, that’s sad. There were/are movies I still want to see. Maybe soon. *G*

  40. Sabrina Jeffries on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:20 pm #

Ooh, ooh, I knew I was forgetting the best one: Feast of Love

If you’re a romance lover, you HAVE to see this. It’s beautiful and heart-wrenching, with a wonderful, but bittersweet ending. It really, REALLY touched me. I would recommend it highly. Of course, I love just about any movie with Morgan Freeman. *G*

  41. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:25 pm #

Sorry I’ve been absent — had trip #2 to the DMV today. I’ve been renewed!! Only took a flippin’ hour, and that’s with an appointment.

I wanted to like “Ratatouille”, & my sis assures me I’ll like it if I sit through all of it, but the idea of a rat in the kitchen…Hm.

Sabrina, add me to that same Coen Brothers list — I rank “Barton Fink” as one of the stinkiest movies of all time.

  42. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 4:27 pm #

I loved “Enchanted” - especially the dead brothers. At times it really reminded me of the spirit of “The Princess Bride”, though it was sweeter.

I have “The Tudors” on my tbb list. I don’t get Showtime either, but my bf was kind enough to tape every episode and forward it to me. Does anybody know how far the series is going to go?

  43. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 5:22 pm #

I’m not a raunch fan, but I keep hearing good things about both “Superbad” and “Knocked Up”. Those of you who’ve seen them, what do you think? Should I give them a try?

And I do want to see “Juno” — I just keep hoping it’s not another case of the critics recommend it because they don’t get it.

  44. Freshechelle on 09 Jan 2008 at 5:38 pm #

Karen R - the NBC L&O broadcast was the Karen Rose tribute. Of course, it’ll be rerun on USA and millions of other channels this weekend if not sooner. There should just be a Law & Order-o-vision channel, 24/7 of L&O. The plot line was, well I sort of missed the start, but a serial killer who leaves his kills out in the woods or Central Park (I won’t spoil it by telling you who done it). Benson was working with a young FBI agent. The killer has a torture room complete with snuff film viewing area. The episode will have to hold me over till your next release. Hardover, right? So cool!

  45. colinfirthfan on 09 Jan 2008 at 7:18 pm #

SuzanneE, I just saw this on Amazon - Before the Scandal: The Notorious Gentlemen, but couldn’t find anything on your website.
Please tell us more about this book- even an excerpt will do… ;-)

  46. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 7:30 pm #

    Ah, colinfirthfan. Hm.

Well, “Before the Scandal” is book 2 in the Notorious Gentlemen trilogy. Book 1 is “After the Kiss”, and will be out in July. BtS will be out in August, and I’m just starting work on book 3, which I’m calling “Untitled Notorious Gentleman”. *g*

All I can say at this moment is that they’re notorious. Ahem.

  47. FreshEChelle on 09 Jan 2008 at 7:58 pm #

Juno was charming, good, worth the $10.50. The only “but” is the lead character is kind of precocious, too worldwise and world weary for a kid. I still recommend it. It’s more appealing than most other stuff out.

  48. Ellen on 09 Jan 2008 at 8:56 pm #

So are all these movies out on DVD already…besides National Treasure and Juno…I’m not that far removed. It’s just been a tough year!

  49. lisa on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:16 pm #

Just saw Atonement a few days ago and liked it a lot. I’m not a big Keira Knightly fan but was compelled by the story. It was worth putting up with her pouty expression and bones popping through her skin to see this big and surprising story unfold. The editing is quirky but it all fits at the end. James McAvoy was wonderful as well as the two actresses that played Briony.

I’ve seen some the other movies mentioned. But the two that stand out for pure entertainment are Hairspray and Enchanted.

I’m going to go fill my Netflix Que up with the others ya’ll have mentioned.

  50. doglady on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:28 pm #

Oooh! I want to see Death at a Funeral! My dear, darling, favorite Darcy Matthew McFaddyen is in it! Love Pirates 3 and Harry Potter 5 as well. And I know I will love National Treasure 2! Haven’t seen Ratatouille yet. My Mom and the niece and nephews did and they loved it. They just saw The Water Horse last week and my Mom said it is a must see. She wanted to see it again and she NEVER watches movies twice.

  51. Kim on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:39 pm #

Suzanne–Our whole family watched Knocked up and liked it. It was really cute and funny.

Fresh–I saw that L&O last night too! WILD! You’re right, that room was definitely something KarenR would think up.

  52. Suzanne Enoch on 09 Jan 2008 at 9:53 pm #

doglady, I saw “WaterHorse” this weekend with my nephew — very good. And we went to ToysRUs afterward, and out of everything there he wanted the pleisiosaur (don’t check my spelling) figure. Yay, science! *g*

  53. Santa on 11 Jan 2008 at 6:30 pm #

I don’t get out much but I did see ‘Hairspray’ and it was FANTASTIC! I am a big fan of MGM and this was so reminiscent of them…except for the flasher scene and John Travolta in drag…but still I was smiling and toe tapping and singing through the whole movie!
