Tall, Dark and Devilish!

For Refreshment Only Sunday brings you A Very Special Moment:

His gaze flickered over me, his eyes as dark as the merlot that gleamed in the crystal wine glass that even now dangled from his long, sensual fingers.

He caught my uncertain smile and captured my hand and placed a warm kiss to my fingers, sending a tremor through me. “Forgive me,” he said, “for not keeping up my side of the conversation; this is a new experience for me.”

My heart pounded a bit harder. All throughout dinner, he’d said very little, though his eyes hadn’t left me for more than a second. “A new experience? Then you’ve never been to this restaurant before?”

A smile flickered in the depths of his eyes. “Oh, I’ve been here before. Many times, in fact. But I’ve never been with such a beautiful woman. You, my dear, are breathtaking.”

It was in that moment that I knew that this was no light flirtation as was his usual wont. It was passion. It was love. it was . . . Christian Bale.

Is it bad that it doesn’t affect me?

Tell me I’m beautiful and I’ll disregard it. Tell me that you love my love. Now that is something to build upon.

Sorry, blissfully in love. ‘S wonderful, ‘S marvelous.

I’ll hit earth in the morning.

you know the weird thing is i just saw a movie of his last night… but it must’ve been an old one, …shed light on this ladies if you have any clue what the movie is or if you’ve watched it….
anyway so christian is some crazy murderer that loves lusts after killing people…

I was never a Christian Bale fan until Batman. Oh, and Yuma. He got me there, too. He’s not traditionally handsome so much as he’s STRIKING. That’s very sexy.

    Or it is to me.

(And Marie, congrats on being in love!)

(And pri, I avoid movies about murderers. My friend has been trying to get me to watch Dexter and I just can’t. Was Bale good in it? He plays such a variety of parts that you never know what he’ll do next.)

karen i too avoid movies with and about murderers mostly because i’m quite possibly the biggest whimp this side of the equator… but none the less bale was…an interesting character, never got to the end of the movie, but it seemed to revolve around him having no emotions but greed and… something else. … needless to say it was bizarre. there was this scene… a bit of an ‘mature’ scene where he’s showing off excellent abs and biceps.. can’t really complain there:P

ladydawgfan and I must be the same person, (ha ha) cause I too would be a puddle. I about turned into a puddle just reading the piece and gazing at the picture! Good grief, he’s just something to behold.

pri.r, I think it was American Pyscho.
I only saw parts of it, but I think he was both hunky and homicidal in it. Now, Reign of Fire, I could watch him in over and over..the fact that a long haired Gerard Butler is in it as well. YUM times two!

Good choice of drool worthy man Karen!
    humina humina!

I am sorry, but I don’t know who he is!

I’ll have to check out some of these movies.

However, Karen’s writing was a turn on! LOL

  9. FreshEChelle on 09 Dec 2007 at 9:39 am #

Yes that was definitely American Pyscho. It’s creepy good in its clinical approach to murder. I’m guessing Karen Rose might like it after reading her works.

Maria’s “tell me you love my love” oooh, that’s good.

Karen H, wasn’t Christian a superior Batman?! Very sexy! I’m with you, he’s striking. Thanks for another excellent FROS!

I’ve never seen him in Batman - I think I must now.

  12. Karen Hawkins on 09 Dec 2007 at 12:00 pm #

Gannon, to be honest, I didn’t expect the new Batman to be so good - and I think that it was so good is a testament to Bale’s acting. He takes a LOT of chances in his acting career — I mean, he played a homicidal maniac and then he did that one movie where he lost all of that weight . . . I don’t remember the name of it, but he looked horrible in it.

He doesn’t always try to play the hero or trade on his looks. I am impressed with that. Plus, he has the most fascinating face — very mobile and powerful.

As for the scenario, glad you all are enjoying it! Though of COURSE it’s not as good as Real Life. As we all know, nothing is. But oh, how delicious a little fantasy can be sometimes!

I have to admit that the first time I saw Christian Bale was in American Psycho and he scared the hell out of me! My DH was a psychiatrist in the prison systems so my fear was rooted in fact! His performance was amazing. I have not seen him in Batman, but rest assured I will! I saw him in the one in which he looked like a wraith, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name. Anyone? He has that arresting sharp handsomeness that draws you in and you are not sure if it is a good thing or a bad one! Thanks Karen H. Great taste as always!

Another good movie that he is in is Velvet Goldmine, I think that is the title anyway. I also has the added benefit of having Jonathan Rhys Myers(yum) and Ewan McGregor.

Sorry fellow goddesses…I have no idea who this guy is. He is attrative enough in the picture; I’ll have to check out some of the movies listed and see what the hype is all about!

I’ve heard his name on shows like Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition and Showbiz Tonight, but I’ve never seen him in a film as I never go to the cinema. He is nice to look at though!

here you go , look him up..I’m sure someone has seen at least one of his films! I own dvds of at least four
He was wonderful in The Prestige, opposite Karen H’s honey Hugh Jackman.
And a kind Laurie in Little Women.
    sigh

  18. Krissy on 09 Dec 2007 at 4:48 pm #

He’s from the Newsies! He was like 12… but then so was I. I’ve always enjoyed Christian Bale… but not even I could watch American Psycho.

Batman Begins, starring darling Christian, was AMAZING. IMHO the best Batman movie ever made.

Christian Bale, aside from being in Reign of Fire, was in 3:10 to Yuma, and Red Dawn (the movie about being a POW in Vietnam–possibly the worst movie of the year, but hey, you can’t always hit it out of the park).

I love him for the same reasons Karen H mentioned: he takes risks, he’s a stone-cold real life actor, and he never fails to deliver a realistic performance (except maybe in Red Dawn, which was booooring).

i love his voice, it was soo good in Bat man and he voices the wizard howl in, Howls moving castle, it is a sweet movie kinda wierd. from the same director/studio/animator/music composer as spirited away.
he is very Visually dreamy too.
