Holy hairballs, Batgirl! It’s FROS!
Oct 13th 2007
Your Friendly GoddessesGoddess Eye Candy
Between the Herbal Essence commercials and Rachel Gibson’s leg spiders . . . well, it’s been a hairy week. (Sorry! We just HAD to say it.)
Which made us think of those hunky men on romance novels who have such great hair, long and short. And boy, do they ever!
One of our faves is John DeSalvo. Here’s a pic for our historical peeps:
There’s also a guy named Nathan Kemp. Here’s a pic for our contemporary fans:
And last, but not least (because his birthday was this week and he’s now an ADORABLE 39!), here’s a pic of Hugh Jackman with his own perfect-for-the-part-he’s-playing-and-oh-my-check-out-his-abs hair.
Enjoy your FROS, my dears! We’re off to Mt. Olympus where Karen Hawkins plans to wash that man right into her hair.
P.S. Apparently Goddess JudyF has her own supply of pics of our hot cover models and she tossed these my way this morning.
and . . .
Thank you for sharing, Goddess JudyF!!!!

Don’t forget to check out Mr. Jackman in Viva Laughlin coming up this week on CBS. I think he sings.

Karen Hawkins on 14 Oct 2007 at 6:59 am #
JudyF shared some other pics she had and I just had to add them to the post.
Yummmmm! What great ah, hair.
Oh and I had spelled poor Nathan Kemp’s name as Kamp. Sorry! I fixed it, though. Doesn’t he have the most incredible abs? You could bounce a quarter off those!
THANKS, JUDY!

Oh my, I think I need to pause to wipe the drool of my chin!
They are all too, too yummy! Thanks, Goddesses!
OMG, my DH just walked back and saw the pics, and said “what are you looking at?” Ha Ha! I told him it was FROS!! Just picture the eye rolling!

Well a big ole eye-poppin’ GOOD MORNING to you too!! Good heavens. You know some of us ladies are pushin’ 50 and our hearts can’t take all this . . . beef! I need a glass of iced tea - to pour on myself!! These are just incredible Karen and Judy. Nice collection you have their Judy. All I collect are books and teacups. I want what she’s got! If this is a menu I’ll take one of each.
Karen Hawkins on 14 Oct 2007 at 9:56 am #
Doglady, I think I’m with you. Perhaps my concept of ‘collection’ has been limited in the past and I need to expand it, like Judy has.
And Happy Birthday to Hugh, too!!! Isn’t he THE BEST?
Cookiedough on 14 Oct 2007 at 10:18 am #
Well, isn’t this a yummy start to my day!

Very nice!
And if you want to see a lovely John DeSalvo pic, check out the stepback underneath the cover of my first Paradise Series book.

hoo wee! yummy, Nicole!
doglady on 14 Oct 2007 at 10:30 am #
We are in complete agreement, Karen!! And yes, Hugh is GORGEOUS!!! And did say I go for younger men? Ten years younger sounds like a nice round number. Now, to get rid of that pesky wife. Oh! Did I say that out loud??? And Nicole, forget the rubber ducky! I want THAT in my bathtub!!!
Karen Hawkins on 14 Oct 2007 at 12:35 pm #
Ooooh, Nicole, that’s LOVELY! (Btw, if you guys haven’t checked out the covers for Nicole’s early 08 issues, you ought to — they’re soooo well done. I had SERIOUS cover envy!
doglady, younger men are awesome! And yes, you said that outloud.
Cookiedough on 14 Oct 2007 at 1:20 pm #
Are you speaking from experience, Karen?
I’ve always gone for a younger man, but only a difference of a few yrs.
My hippie aunt, however, went for a good twelve yrs difference. Now that she’s in her 70’s and her hubby looks older than her, they’re evenly matched.
lol

I used to work with this guy who had beautiful blonde hair that went to his waist. He’d let me brush it, braid it, whatever and it was so thick! I’m telling you if I wouldn’t have already found the man of my dreams I would have dated that guy for his hair alone (but it helped that he was really sweet) :o)
TinaLouiseF on 14 Oct 2007 at 2:26 pm #
Ladytink, he sounds sweet. I imagine it was lots of fun to braid his hair.
doglady on 14 Oct 2007 at 3:21 pm #
I can braid hair. I like to brush hair. Where is this guy, Ladytink? WHERE?? Oh, okay. I’m better now. See, I’m calm. Yes, do tell, Karen. How MUCH younger? My hubby was almost three years younger. But my French professor in college was a nurse in WWII and she ended up married to one of her patients. They met in a hospital in France after Normandy. He was 15 years her junior. She always told us girls “Marry them young and raise them you way you want them.” Must have worked. They had been married 35 years when I was in undergrad school.

I love Nathan Kemp. So hot!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sundays are good. And I can’t wait for Viva Laughlin.
Nicole, that is one of my fave step-backs of all time. His cover on Jackson Rule ain’t half-bad either.
darkshire007 on 14 Oct 2007 at 6:07 pm #
Thank you so much! I really needed this. After having a typhoid shot and a Hep B shot and a major headache….I really, really, needed this!
Cookiedough on 14 Oct 2007 at 6:10 pm #
awww, poor darkshire! are you alright now?
When I first met Michael in 1987, he had long hair….oh my!
I’ll have to look for a picture

That last pic did it for me!

LOL Judy, you soooo right
I have an Amazon list of a lot of his covers - it’s at my blog. Nathan is my favorite.
twolilhahas on 14 Oct 2007 at 8:11 pm #
Nathan is my favorite, too. I bought a book once because he was on the cover. The book was horrible. I mean, the worst romance novel I’ve ever never finished! But the cover was so hot!!!
ladydawgfan on 14 Oct 2007 at 8:25 pm #
I have been running non-stop ALL weekend. Then, today, I made a birthday cake that I couldn’t eat any of because of gallstones (which have kept me tired and grumpy and cranky and grumpy and cranky and tired for two blasted weeks now). I have finally had the chance to sit down to my computer and THIS is what I find????
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! *gets down on her knees and bows in thankful worship towards whereever the goddesses responsible might be!!*

Verra nice, ladies! I do so enjoy FROS!
Can’t wait for Hugh Jackman’s debut on that show! We are all set to DRV it or whatever it’s called!
BTW, there was a hottie at the booksigning at the NJRWA conference. Got a big hug from a couple of authors. I tried to get the young, single girls to go over and talk to him but they got all shy on me. To quote the crabby neighbor in ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ “Aw, youth is wasted on the young!”
Karen Hawkins on 14 Oct 2007 at 9:45 pm #
Awww, you guys make FROS so much fun! Thank you!
cookied, Micheal had long hair? We need to see that! And yes, my dh (dear heart) is a few years younger than me, though not enough to make a difference — we love the same songs, remember the same old movies and tv shows, can both sing the Partridge Family theme song, etc. Those common childhood memories are very bonding. I’ve seen several May-Nov romances and some work and some don’t. I think it can be awesome if both people are similar in maturity level. It’s funny, but sometimes, the older person is the one who needs to ‘grow up!”
darkshire, hope you’re feeling better!
ladydawgfan, I hope your gall bladder settles down soon. That’s so uncomfortable!
Hey Santa! Youth is wasted! I hope you got his autorgraph, at least!
Sabrina Jeffries on 15 Oct 2007 at 12:02 pm #
Well, gee, I’ve been spelling it Nathan Kamp for some time. Then I go to his website to check and it has “Nathan Kamp” in one place and “Nathen Kamp” in another. Now I don’t know HOW you spell his name. Sheesh!
elsiehogarth on 15 Oct 2007 at 12:47 pm #
Ahhhh, I just love John DeSalvo. He is just wonderful. A true gentlemen with a great sense of humor, doesn’t take himself seriously and has a great vision on what goals he wants to accomplish.
My other favorite cover models: Steve Sandalis. Cherif Fortin, Mike Daly. Stefan Schwarz and Rob Ashton (sorry to hear that he resently past away).
Serenity on 27 Jan 2008 at 2:19 am #
Nathan has an imdb & his name is spelt, Nathan Kamp. I tried Googling his name with Kemp but it showed only few results that had to do with him……does anyone know his birthday??
& thx for putting those pics up, Nathan looks smexy as always
Serenity on 27 Jan 2008 at 7:25 pm #
BTW I don’t know if it’s Nathan Kemp or Kamp for sure, I was just saying that his name was spelt that way on his imdb portfolio.
