Most authors are control freaks. That’s why I write, anyway, so I can tell EVERYONE in my book EXACTLY WHAT TO DO.
I love that.
What’s cool is that I sense that some of you, my fellow goddesses, have some of the same tendencies I do. In fact, I’m convinced that some of you like to ‘orchestrate’ life whenever the chance arises. Therefore, I thought it would be fun if we all Played Goddess today and enjoyed one of my favorite games called “Match Maker.”
And yes, I match make in my private life, too. I’ve tried to fix up Suzanne Enoch with my brother a million times, but nooooo . . . she wants a man who ‘lives in the same city.’ Picky, that Suzanne Enoch. Just picky!
Anyway, below are five gorgeous guys and five gorgeous gals. For the guys we have Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jude Law.
And for the gals we have Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, and Julianne Moore.
Who would you match to who and why?

I would match Gerard Butler to me, and I would happily move to Glasgow to be with him.

This is fun. Brad Pitt w/ Jennifer Aniston because they’re just so pretty together.
Pierce with Julianne Moore just because their ages are closer.
Hugh starts out with Halle Berry, and then dumps her for me.
Jake with Drew, because I want her name to be Drew Barrymore-Gyllenthal.
Jude with Jennifer Garner so their nickname will be Juje.

Jude & Jennifer Garner - she’ll kick his butt if he gets near the nanny!

Ohhhhh! (rubs hands gleefully) I loooove playing goddess!!!!
I like Julianne with Jude because they both look very sophisticated — a bit patrician.
And then I’d put Jake with Drew Barrymore because they both look like normal, fun people.
Brad would go with Halle because I think she’d kick his butt when he needed it and she’d have no qualms about leaving him if he deserved it.
And Stacy, i love Pierce sweeping Jennifer Aniston off her feet — she deserves that!
Last, Jennifer Garner can star in a movie with Hugh, but only as his little sister because he’s going come home to me EVERY NIGHT!

Where is my picture? How can I match Jude Law with who he is supposed to be with if my picture is not up there?
I agree about Jennifer & Brad of coarse, they just go together. And I like Halle & Pierce matched up. Hugh & Drew & last Jake & Garner - Poor Julianne doesn’t have a mate this time!

Brad Pitt and Julianne Moore in a romantic suspense with a little comedy thrown in because both are good at that in movies I’ve seen. She’s been in a comedy with Brosnan before.
Pierce Brosan as Jennifer Garner’s father in a mystery with her as a kidnap victim.
Jake Gyllenhall and Jennifer Aniston in a romantic comedy although you’d need to pretend she’s not older than he is. I think they would laugh a lot.
Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry in an erotic romantic suspense because they are both sexy as hell.
Jude Law and Drew Barrymore in a comedy.
Btw. I’d be the mother of Jennifer Garner’s character.

Jude and Julianne–they just look like they could go together…sophisticated and elegant.
Jake and Drew–young and cute. You know they’d have fun together.
Jennifer and Pierce–she could use someone a little older to spoil her and sweep her off her feet
Halle and Brad–both beautiful, and she would totally keep him in line!
Jennifer and Hugh–both so sincere, so lovely, but she could not be his love interest—that part is reserved for ME!!

Yes, I love the idea of Pierce and Jennifer! Most definately!
Hugh and Hallie because I agree with their chemistry on X-Men and think a love story coming out of that would be a fantastic plot addition
For some reason, I would put Julianne with Brad. I don’t really know why. Maybe some of that sophistication of hers would rub on him and he’d grow up a little. Amazing how quickly he went from Totally Hot Hunk in my mind to Trashy Little Boy Toy
Looking at the photos of the others, I’m not really seeing any romance in the making. Just a group of friends who’d hang out.

Hugh and Jennifer Aniston - She deserves someone better than Brad! Although like many of you, I’d like to be paired with him!
Jake and Drew - such a fun couple
Jude and Jennifer Garner - they were left together after I paired up everyone else.

twolilhahas, I think of it as Movie Casting. Or, like Nicole, like characters for a book. I just want looks to go with looks because different combinations can create different styles of couples.
If we’re going to talk personalities, I would never have put some of these people on the list at all. Whew! That WOULD be hard to do!
Btw, did you guys see the latest Britney scandal? Will that chica ever get through humiliating herself in public? My advice to her is 1) no matter how good you THINK you are, show up for rehearsals, 2) sometimes less is more (as in less clothes then more criticism) and 3) for the after party, WEAR UNDERWEAR.
Sheesh! Do I have to lecture EVERY starlet out there?

Good point, Karen. I’ll have to look again and choose based on looks. I was thinking personalities…and just couldn’t do it! lol
Yes, I’ve watched the Britney VMA performance and heard lots of criticism. I’ve also heard Kanye saying that Britney was exploited because MTV is down in ratings. I believe that. I mean, part of the bad performance is on her…because it was HER performance, but I’m still thinking more was going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. I feel really badly for her. I’m a single mom, too…maybe that’s why…but I know that if I lived my life in front of cameras all day, every day, I’d get some criticism, too. That being said, I agree with your advice completely. Be responsible and wear clothes (including underwear)! It’s not that hard, ya know? lol Personally, I really didn’t like her AT ALL before she had kids, then I hoped she’d turn into a decent sort, and it hasn’t really happened. I’d love to see her change her image to DECENT!

Based strictly on looks I’d put Brad Pitt with Jennifer Garner. I think they would accent each other very well. He’s sort of refined-handsome and she’s very sweetly cute. They’d look like fun.
Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore. They sort of both look older and rich. Like they belong together at a presidential party or something.
Jake and Drew. They match. They’re both cute in an odd way. Neither of them are jaw-droppers, but they’re both successful and cool in their own special way.
I’d have to put Hugh with Halle. I don’t really see any real greatness in either of them. Sorry, I know everyone else here LOVES Hugh, but he’s creepy to me!
That leaves Jude and Jennifer Anniston, which I hate to do to Jennifer, because I like her and know WAY too much about Jude’s personal life, but lookswise only, they match. They’re classy looking.

I have to say, I was never a Britneyphile, but like you, i WANTED her to be a good mother. She just seemed so Little Girl Lost to me, thrown into a crazy biz by her mother (who was very pushy and demanding), so she’s never had a formal education, and then to make so much money at such a young age. I think she had kids because she doesn’t really have a great family life herself. Unfortunately, she’s out of control now.
It’s very sad, really.
On a happier note, you did a stellar match job! And I wish I didn’t know so much about Jude, myself!

Darla, Darla, Darla . . . if we had a mud pit here on Mt. Olympus, we’d settle the Who Gets Hugh question like real women would. As it is, we’re going to have to leave it up to ur respective imaginations and BOTH keep him.
Btw, does anyone else match dark haired guys with light haired women and vice versa? I never put dark with dark for some reason.

Now see, I was thinking Jake with Halle, because they’re dark-haired. I like the like matches. Plus, they both look like they seethe with sensuality.
I think Hugh and JenniferA would be great–they’re both so gorgeous.
Brad Pitt and Pierce … Oh, wait, we’re doing straight couples, right?
Hokay, I like Pierce and Julianne, because Julianne always reminds me of Rene Russo, and I loved Rene and Pierce in the Thomas Crown Affair.
So I guess that leaves JenniferG for Brad. I think they would both kick arse, too, so they’re perfect.

I think I’m more likely to match lights with lights and darks with darks. Not always, but mostly. I think it’s because I have brown hair and I prefer really dark hair on a man, dark brown or black. I’m really into the tall, dark and handsome thing. lol So, I like to save the dark-headed guys for us dark-headed ladies.
I really have never been into blondes at all. I’ve always been desperately attracted to spanish guys because they have the perfect skin color, dark hair and usually have deep-brown eyes…all the traits I simply love. Ironically, my ex-husband (half Puerto-Rican) had the really nice complexion, but blonde hair and greenish-blue eyes. Totally against my standard. lol Now, I have a blonde daughter!

Let me get rid of the obvious choices right up front:
I would put Brad back with Jennifer and make him give a huge interview it which he reveals that he had never really stopped loving her. I would then have Jennifer get caught by the paparazzi making out with Gerard Butler while Angelina waited for her turn, and zambonigirl and lilhaha stood in the background, with daggers. Mwwaaahhaaahaaaha!
Next I would put Hugh with Halle. This was a simple choice. She is currently pregnant and will, therefore, be giving the “the doctor said no” speech any day now. Waiting in the wings…you guessed it….moi!!!! (With zambonigirl and lilhaha in the background with daggers.
BECAUSE I know too much about Jude, I am going to put him with Mr. Brokeback Mountain himself. Sorry to do that to Jake, but he can say he is just “honing his acting skills.”
Pierce gets matched with Julianne because they are the only couple who seem to stay in a relationship for longer than it takes Angelina to pick out another kid. (And by the way…do any of her kids walk? She seems to carry them on her hips until they go off to college. Wait…did I say hips? Silly me!)
Jennifer G and Drew will become goddesses, and decide it’s easier to write about men than to actually live with them.
It’s not easy having this much power!

By the by, Karen. I too decided that the only chance Britney will have in this life, is if some good hearted woman adopts her and takes her shopping for panties. Watching her on the VMA’s actually made me pity her for once.
She needs detox and new management.
And to stay away from hair salons and tat shops.

Maybe Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt should adopt Britney. She could then be Britney Spears-Jolie-Pitt and would get all the attention she craves! It’d be a media storm. Then Angie and Brad would be grandparents, too. Very cool! Angie could instruct Brit on proper tattooing and Brad could lecture her on guys’ minds and why she should wear undies in public.

Hey, this is harder than it looks.
First, I have to take myself out of the running, which is nearly impossible since Hugh is so totally mine in every way.
Second, I have to imagine writing a book about them, reducing them (or elevating) them to characters.
Third, okay, no third. Julianne with Pierce; they look good together, are of an age, and have a patrician quality.
Jude and Halle; they’re different enough from each other to be interesting together, a cross-cultural vibe.
Jake and Drew; both of the dare-to-be-different variety and they look so different. It would be fun to write a scene with her perky petiteness and his gangly length.
Jen Garner and Hugh: because they both seem so nice and her petite features mixed with his larger, more masculine ones would make adorable kids.
Jen and Brad; together again? What is it about those two?

I don’t know much about Jude, but it sounds as if ‘ignorance is bliss.’ Think I’ll keep it that way although … someone tell me if it’s juicy gossip (like there are pix of him on the web dressed in women’s clothing and dancing with a broom). but If it’s just Jude Behaving Badly (TPS - Trailer Park Stupidness), I don’t want to know.

Heck, we even share the same religion so our mothers could even get together and cluck their tongues over the silliness of their children and argue over whose parish will hold the wedding and whose family Priest will say the Mass!!

Karen, if you haven’t done lots of research on Gerard Butler then get your booty over to youtube and start! You can find lots of very funny interviews! Not to mention his GREAT Scottish accent. *Sigh*
And yeah, being the kids of the Brangelina’s would be one wild ride. Son, it’s okay to leave your wife for another woman, as long as she’s a really hot “humanitarian” or a goodwill ambassador for some underpriviledged foreign nation. Oh, and did I mention she should be HOT?

This is hard! I keep changing my mind. Jen Jackman has a great ring to it, so one of the Jens has to have Hugh. I’m going to say Jen Aniston and Hugh Jackman. Drew Barrymore seems to the only one with a spirit free and forgiving enough to handle Jude Law. Brad and Julianne because I think he needs a strong, mature woman. Jen and Jake because Jen Gyllenhaal sounds almost as good as Jen Jackman. And finally, Pierce and Halle, because they did work together on a Bond movie and who knows, maybe they have been carrying on in secret all this time.

Sorry, Twolilhahas, but Hugh (either Grant or that guy pictured up there) does nothing for me. It’s Gerard Butler, then Christian Bale, then Rob Niedermayer for my Celeb Top Five. Um…I’d say the other two, but they’re not male.
I would totally put Jake Gyllenhaal together with Hugh Jackman, though. I think they look good together.
Drew Barrymoore and Brad Pitt might be an interesting couple. Seriously.

I’d like to match Pierce with myself but if I must share him then Julianne can have him.
I’d console myself with Hugh and lend him out every third year to Drew Barrymore because I think they both have incredible smiles. They should make a movie together…don’t ya think?
I think Jennifer could use a Hot Scot like Gerard. If she doesn’t find him ‘just the thing’ I’d have to direct her to http://www.dateahotscot.com. This is Scotland’s tourist bureau’s brilliant idea for getting lasses to Scotland. It really is a website. The men are hot, in kilts and still favor Highland Games as a good time!s A win=win situation all around.

twolilhahas-did you ever see the funny interview that Gerard did after “300″? It was hilarious. He was talking about his sex scene, and he’s all, “I #%$& her. Yeah. It was hot. I was fantastic, she was great. Well…that’s a lie. One that I #%$& her, two that I was fantastic. Women tell me I’m horrible in bed. I don’t know how they can tell after only three seconds, but that’s what they always tell me.”
I was instantly in love. Also, I think we need to do some field research on this. Is he really bad, or just self-depricating? Is it only three seconds, or maybe three minutes? Hours?
Obviously, there’ll have to be a control group and an experiment group. I think there’d be enough Scotsman to go around…

I had no idea Gerard Butler has such a great, self-deprecating sense of humor! Don’t you LOVE a man who can laugh? *happy sigh* I think I’ll waste my morning looking for interviews with Gerry.
And he has to be kidding about the three seconds. I refuse to believe otherwise. In fact, I will volunteer to to be the (ahem!) research subject. Anything to answer the burning questions of my fellow goddesses!

I enjoyed everyone’s matchmaking so much I’m not even gonna try! but hey! Hugh Jackman did that Prestige movie where he made more Hughs. Can we do that? Then we can each have our own!
And I so agree on the yummyness of Gerard Butler! I’ve been sighing over him since Timeline and Dear Frankie. big sigh!

First off I have to say that I don’t think Jude is attractive. Sorry. Onward and forward; here is my list of matches.
Pierce w/ Drew. (Her funny would compliment his serious.)
Brad w/ Halle. (Both have gorgeous bodies and she’d keep him in line.)
Hugh w/ Jen. (He seems kind of quiet and her liveliness would compliment that.)
Jake w/ Jen (G). (Both tall, funny; but can be serious too.)
Jude w/ Juli. (Don’t know much about these two so I stuck them together.)
