DH saw the trailer for the new Yuma movie and grumbled, as he usually does when someone re-makes a movie. “Why?” he’ll say. “It was great the first time. Why remake it?”

I can think of one very good reason why. Thanks, Goddess Karen H!!

Can Mr. Bale act? I guess we’ll have to see the flick and judge for ourselves.

I was planning on seeing “3:10 to Yuma” anyway because, well, it has RUSSELL CROWE in it!!! I mean, let’s get real here, ladies!! But now, after looking and drooling over the above shots (didn’t realize that Christian was an “innie”), I can also say that I am seeing it because Christian Bale is in it!!

Dang, but it’s hard to type when you drool all over your keyboard . . .

The second picture makes Christian Bale look like a Good Ole Guy. The third, a good reason to see 3:10 To Yuma, apart from wondering about the remake as KarenR pointed out.

But the suggestive pose in pic one, OMG!!!

I’m going to see it this weekend, too! I googled about a million pics of CB (what a HORRIBLE job I have here at tgb, hm?) and oh my! What a hottie!

Woohoo! Christian AND Russel IN THE SAME MOVIE! Eye candy for me, and a cowboy story for my dh! I predict a very nice evening at the movie with satisfaction all around!

  7. Karen Rose on 09 Sep 2007 at 8:14 am #

Oh, KarenH, what difficult job the gods have bestowed upon you. Scoping out handsome men… Now, you’ll have to add the official review of this remake to your already staggering burden.

However do you bear it? Just be careful of your health, my dear. I’d hate for all that eye candy to give you a sugar rush that raises your pulse too high. But your DH probably has some remedy for that, I’d imagine ;-)

Thank you, Goddess Karen, for these yummy pics of Christian Bale! I’ve always liked him since he played Laurie in Little Women. He was very sexy as Batman, and yes, Karen Rose, he is an excellent actor! Combine that with his good looks, and mmmm mmmm, you’ve got a winner! :)

  9. Karen Rose on 09 Sep 2007 at 10:33 am #

I loved Little Women! Didn’t realize he played Laurie. Now I’m going to go back into my DVD collection and find LW and watch it again. Of course he’ll be much younger in LW - that movie came out in ‘94. The last 13 years have been more than kind to him, I must say

I’ve also never seen Batman Begins, but I’ve heard it’s really good, too.

I saw ‘3:10 to Yuma’ yesterday and really liked it! I won’t post any spoilers but getting to see both Christian Bale AND Russell Crowe all scruffy was truly a treat!!

Karen, you are in for a real treat getting to see ‘Little Women’ and ‘Batman Begins’ for the first time and seeing Christian Bale in those movies. He definitely is a looker!!

Christian Bale is an amazing actor. Yes, he’s handsome, but I have a difficult time crushing on him — the first movie I saw him in was “Empire of the Sun”, when he was about 10 years old. He was great in that too, btw. *g*

Now, THAT is what I’m talkin’ about!! YUM-O!! Thanks for the pick-me-up!

    MINE!!!

His very first movie was Rex Harrison’s last. It was a Hallmark TV movie called Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna and it’s actually going to be on TV this month on the 22.

I agree with Suzanne…it’s difficult to see him as a hunky man when you’ve seen him as a child actor . He can act, though.
Now luckily I haven’t seen Russell Crowe as anything other than a He man, so I’ll be sitting with my popcorn in the dark theatre with all the other sighing women!

  16. zambonigirl on 09 Sep 2007 at 6:01 pm #

    IT’S ABOUT FREAKIN’ TIME!

LOL. The picture of him without his shirt…yeah. I actually have that one saved on my hard-drive. Um…just in case I need to ever draw “hunky man shaving” or something. I think that one’s from American Psycho.

    *happy sigh*

    Thank you, goddesses!

Can Mr. Bale act? I guess we’ll have to see the flick and judge for ourselves.

Oh my gosh, Karen! He’s such a fantastic actor! You should see him in “The Machinist”. He’s not very hunky in that one, he lost somewhere around 80 lbs to act in it (and then gained it all back and more for Batman, then lost it again…oh, never mind. He becomes the role), and he was SO FANTASTIC. It is a great movie. It will really mess with your head. He is such a great actor, so believable and excellent. Even in “Reign Of Fire” which is hokey and about dragons, but he’s fantastic in it.

  18. Karen Rose on 09 Sep 2007 at 6:44 pm #

Excellent. Actually, I meant that line about seeing the flick to judge for ourselves more in the tone of, “Aw geez, we have to see a handsome man in a flick with other handsome men to go judge for ourselves.” Smirk, smirk.

But it’s good to hear he can act too. It’s like mocha chip ice cream in a waffle cone. I mean, you’d gladly eat the ice cream alone and moan in happy ecstasy while doing so, but the waffle cone just makes it all the better.

Maybe I’ll go by the ice cream place after I see the movie.

Well, you KNEW I’d be going to see “3:10 to YUMMY”…I mean with Russell AND Christian in it, how could I resist? And it was great! They’re both such tremendous actors. Just the things Russell does with his eyes when he’s acting amazes me. One reviewer described his voice in the movie as “Far off thunder wrapped in velvet” and I’m like, “Man, I’d like to steal that for one of my books!” I highly recommend the movie–for the story, the acting, and the um…scenery ;)

  20. Karen Hawkins on 09 Sep 2007 at 11:00 pm #

zamboni, of COURSE we had to have some Christian Bale!

And thanks for the review, Teresa! I should have known YOU’D go and see it! If anyone appreciated a ‘fine figure of a man,’ it’s you. Well, after me, of course! :)

Karen Rose-I didn’t think you were being snide or anything, I was just happy to champion my boy for the cause.

Yes, it’s such a horror to be forced to sit through a movie with great eye-candy in it. Darn! Look! There’s another Denzel Washington movie coming out! I guess we’re going to have to slog through that one as well…
