What Kind of Fruit Are You?

Nicole JordanWhen Goddesses Fall To Earth
Recently my dh brought home an article he found in USA Today about successful dieting. Reportedly, a study showed that not all dieters are created equal. In terms of losing weight and keeping it off months later, Apple-shaped people do better on low-glycemic diets than Pear-shaped people. Pear-shaped people do equally as well on low-fat diets as low-glycemic diets.
But I’m sorta shaped like a banana. So where does that leave me?
Dh must be an Apple, since he’s done very well on the South Beach diet, which basically emphasizes eating low-glycemic foods (minimal sugar, refined flour, certain starches) along with lower fat and higher protein and fiber.
But what does a Banana do? I’d rather exercise than diet, but I don’t always have the time. And I can’t stand to be hungry. I’m not giving up white wine, either, since at the end of a long workday, that’s how I unwind.
Enter diet science. The best diet tip I’ve ever found came from a personal trainer I hired to advise me a couple of years ago. (Even though I’d done aerobics and ridden horses since my twenties, I started working out with weights to maintain muscle mass and keep my
metabolism high, since the older we get, the more muscle we lose and the more our metabolism slows down).
He explained why protein is so important to maintaining muscle, why I should increase my intake of protein a little each day (about 30 grams), and why I need to eat a little protein every 3-4 hours to keep my muscles from breaking down.
Now eating every 3-4 hours is a program I could love!
He also told me about a certain brand of whey protein shake – a flavored powder you add to milk that tastes a bit like a milkshake. (I now buy chocolate and cafe-mocha, but I’m not hawking the brand, so I won’t put the name here in this blog. But trust me, some protein drinks taste so awful they make me gag.) Now my dh and I both drink a shake daily around 11 a..m. between breakfast and lunch.
I will always thank that guy, because his advice changed my life. I’m never hungry anymore. I have more energy all day long and rarely feel that 4 p.m. slump. My craving for sugar is way down. And my body will be better prepared to fight the natural process of aging over the next several decades.
So what shape are you? Apple, pear, banana, or something else? Does one diet or exercise program work better for you than others? And do you have a fave diet tip that might work well for the rest of us fruits?

I used to be more of a banana but now I’m getting apple shaped. When I’m doing well, one trick that worked to keep me from giving in to cravings, especially in the evenings, was to write them down and promise myself I could have them once a week. Then I would just have some tea with lemon and aspartame. When that once a week rolls around, it’s amazing what I no longer felt like eating, but if I still did, I could have some guilt free, whether it was pizza or a brownie. Or both.
I didn’t seem to binge, I think because I didn’t want to undo the good work I’d done all week.

Nicole, I’m a protein junkie. I do the protein shakes as well and make sure I have a couple of protein snacks throughout the day. I can’t remember the last time I felt hungry and the only time I feel a post lunch slump is when the day is dark and dreary and it’s clearly time to hibernate!
I could never make it in Seattle.
I’m a banana, but apples could be in my future. If I make it to apple, I would eventually turn pear. If I stay at pear long enough, I could conceivably hit watermelon.

i’m not really any of those… very much hourglass.
i’ve found that aside from breakups, (where i tend to drop around 15 lbs) my best diet is weight watcher’s point system. its easy and awesome. i also take taekwondo a few times a week and do a lot of walking.

Hi Nicole,
I read this blog with interest because I am constantly struggling with my weight. In my younger years I was a pear but now as I am getting older, I am more of an apple. I loved Claudia’s remark about the watermelon. I expect that is next….watermelon on banana legs!
Anyway, since you refrained from mentioning the brand name of the protein product you use, I sent you an email from your website begging for the product name and where you buy it.

I’m a mango. Little, round, and have to wage war to Keep A Waist.
I hate being a mango. I want to be a lithe carrot!
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 8:59 am #
Audrey, that sounds like a great way to maintain self control! My problem with being hungry is that I can’t seem to think about anything else. Plus I get really witchy. When we were first dating, my dh learned very quickly that he had to feed me every 4 hours.
Cail, I’m so envious about your hour glass shape. And I’ve never tried Weight Watchers, but I think it sounds really sensible along with your classes and walking.
Claudia, we could be sisters. And the fear of Watermelons is what keeps me excercising regularly *G*. That and the fact that I feel better if I do a little each day. One of my vets (who did chiroprotic and acupuncture on horses) once told me that endorphins are like 1000 times more addictive than morphine, so if I can get in a regular habit, it really helps.

Karen in NC, I’ll reply to your e-mail as soon as I dig the info out of my files. I don’t mind posting it here, but I don’t want to start the habit of hawking products unless it’s books!
And KarenH, I think it’s very exotic to be a mango. I love mangos. But I hear you on the waist thing.

As a dyed-in-the-wool pear, I don’t have to worry about losing the waist. Why? Because the hips *always* expand at a greater rate than the waist. Not that having 46-inch hips is a fun thing, but even if my waist hit 30 inches (please, Lord, no!), it still looks small in comparison. *g*
The frustrating thing about being a pear is that it’s much easier to lose “belly fat” through dieting than it is to lose fat from your hips and thighs. Exercise and very strict dieting for lo-o-o-o-ng periods of time are needed. It’s enough to make you run for pie! Mmm, pie…
But like you and Claudia, Nicole, I’ve found the lean protein thing is the way to go. Never feeling hungry is the *only* way I can stick with any eating plan. The South Beach Diet is great for that and eating smaller meals more frequently is exactly what it recommends. It’s not a diet, it’s a way of life. And a heart-healthy one!

I’m an hourglass, no fruit for me. I don’t really diet. I never used to work out, but this summer I have gotten down to business and go most days during the week. I do 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, then weights. I’ve been doing this all summer and eating slightly healthier (after a while, though, I break down and go on a fast food/junkfood binge for about a weekend. So not good). As of right now, I’ve lost zero weight, which is very frustrating. I’m way more active than I was before, so I figured I could at least lose a couple pounds. No such luck, though.
My whole problem with food is that I love the act of eating and I eat when I’m bored. Or when I’m doing something sedantery (sp?) like watching TV or reading. I’ve tried finding healthy stuff to munch on like strawberries (so delicious), but I always end up craving something more substantial like bread. I don’t really know how to fix that. If anybody has any tips about this, I’d love to hear.
Julia London on 27 Jul 2007 at 9:22 am #
Nicole!! No, no, no, no….you can’t dangle that carrot in front of people like me, who popped into an apple shape over night around 2004 and can’t figure out how to get it off. I had never heard that about the low-glycemic diet vs. low-fat (is there a link?) And the protein shake? protein snacks? Pleeeeeeease! Hawk a product! Maybe they will send us cases of the stuff and the goddesses can do a product test for them!
PJ on 27 Jul 2007 at 9:59 am #
I guess I’m somewhere between an apple and a mango. Short…big boobs…skinny hips…lost sight of a defined waistline about 15 years ago. You can imagine how much fun I have buying jeans. Oh, and don’t get me started on “sets” that include a top and bottom. My hips are a small, my waist (on good days) is a medium and the top is a large (or sometimes XL). Oh yeah, those “sets” work real well (NOT!) for someone like me. The only “diet” that works effectively for me is Weight Watchers. I need to be held accountable and the points system combined with the online journal fits the bill for me.
Nicole, please post the name of the protein shake? Pleeeeeaaase?
Patty L. on 27 Jul 2007 at 10:13 am #
I should just take Caren Crane’s post and post it hear. I am a pear shape. My hips and butt are so big that my waist and really my entire top half look small in comparision.
The worst part of dieting is that I have a thyroid condition and whenever I try a diet to lose weight it throughs my body’s chemistry out of wack and I have to get more medicine to counteract the change in the thyroid hormone. The only way for me to lose weight is exercise and as soon as I get the okay from my doctor from my back surgery, I will be back on my exercise ball fighting the width of my hips. LOL
zambonigirl on 27 Jul 2007 at 10:27 am #
I honestly have a mango sitting on my desk right now, ready for my mid-morning snack…
I’m an upside-down pear. Large shoulders and breasts that taper off to smaller hips. I do not have a waist to talk about. I look ridiculous most of the time. I have a personal trainer, and with him, I’m actually starting to lose a lot of the extra bulk on my shoulders, chest and back. He also recommends eating every few hours, which I do. I take a lot of fruits and vegetables, though. I have animal protein only once a day, the rest of the time, I eat vegetarian protein-cheese, nuts, soy beans, etc. I’d love to go completely vegetarian, but I really can’t with the weight training. I tried. I fainted.

Patty. that doesnt sound fun at all! Jesse, I’m like you- i love to eat. They’ve had this farmers market in rockefeller center outside my building all summer, and the brownies there are like a magnet that just pulls me towards it. definitely not good for my diet. and yes, hips and thighs are totally the hardest place to lose from. just gotta convert it all to muscle i guess. i’ll be watching pigs flying when that happens
all i have to say, is thank goodness i’ve got a small waist

I’m a pear. There was nothing more depressing as a teenager than having an ample behind and realizing that my chest would never get any bigger. *sniff* As far as keeping my weight down, the only thing that has ever worked for me is running. I have tried the healthy diet without running, didn’t work. I have tried calorie restriction without running, didn’t work. I have a huge elliptical machine in my basement, it gets me through the winter, but doesn’t work nearly as well as running. Luckily, I actually enjoy running.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 10:30 am #
Julia, as CarenC said, South Beach is a great low-glycemic diet. You can buy a copy of the trade paperback for like 14 bucks. Just Google it and I’m sure you’ll find an on-line link.
But the basic premise is to keep your blood sugar stable by not eating foods that quickly turn to sugar when they’re digested. Also to slow down digestion by eating good fats, protien, and fiber. And to eat smaller meals more often so blood sugar doesn’t spike.
When blood sugar goes up, or when you starve yourself, your cells automatically go into caveman mode and start storing fat. Which totally defeats the purpose of dieting and trying to be good!
SBeach has worked really well for my dh. And unlike Atkins (which says you can’t eat carbs, even good carbs like tomatoes and onions) SB is a very healthy way to eat.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 10:34 am #
Ok, for all you goddesses who asked about the brand of shake I buy, it’s called Dymatize Elite Whey Protein. I order 5 pounds at a time in Chocolate and CafeMocha, but it comes in a lot of different flavors (berry, banana, etc.) and I think it comes in smaller sizes. It tastes a lot like Carnation Instant Breakfast, if you like that. I add it to about 5 ounces of milk.
You can order it on-line at http://www.discountanabolics.com or directly by phone from Rocky Mountain Sports Nutrition in Colorado at 1-800-475-7975.
But you have to promise that Zeus won’t strike me down for hawking brand names on Mt. Oly!

Ouch, Patty! It’s really the pits when you have physical problems that screw up your body in other ways, too. Hope the back surgery recovery goes well!
>>> I eat vegetarian protein-cheese, nuts, soy beans, etc
I agree, Zamgirl! Those work great as snacks. We buy the frozen shelled Edamame (cooked soybeans) and put a little salt on them. I’ll also do an egg, a bit of turkey, low-sugar peanut butter, honey roasted soy nuts, almonds… and if I can’t go without chocolate, I’ll at least eat a few nuts with it.
>>>craving something more substantial like bread.
Boy, do I hear you, Jessie! Eating fruit alone just makes me hungrier. And I adore bread — would rather have that than desert. But bread and sugary fruit just hikes your blood sugar and then when it crashes, you’re starving. So that’s why nowadays I always reach for protien first or in combo with fruit or bread.

warning, SB isnt great for everyone. I put on 10 lbs the first week of it. Apparently my body doesn’t do so well with the whole SB diet concept. I followed the rule book to a T!! Apparently there is a blood type diet that indicates which type of diet is best for you. My blood type gears towards more of a veggie diet, with fish, isntead of red meat etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type_diet

cail, I had to laugh when I read your post about the brownies. It’s a cheap trick to sell delicious brownies at the Farmer’s Market! So no fair.
Karen Hawkins, that carrot comment made me think of a cowboy. lol They always have really wide tops and little tiny bottoms…at least the ones around here do! Maybe they’re better in Texas. At least, all the Texas cowboys in the romance novels are sexy.
But, around here, the little baby wranglers are just pitiful!!!
At the moment, I’m an hourglass. I’m starting to get some extra padding around the love handle area, and some icky cellulite on my behind and hips. So, I’ve just started going to the gym. I’m a lazy dog, though, and really don’t spend much time at the gym once I get there. lol I have never liked the cardio part of working out. I love and adore weight training, but running or biking off fat really irritates me.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 12:14 pm #
>>>cail: warning, SB isnt great for everyone.
You’re so right, Cail! That was the whole point of the USA TODAY article. That different people respond in different ways to certain diets. And why when everyone jumped on the low-fat diet craze, we ended up with a lot more weight gain.
I also recently read an article about the Blood Type diet but I can’t remember what it said. But it’s great that it works for you and that you posted the link so goddesses can decide for themselves what to try.
Oh, and I sure hope the laser surgergy goes well, Cail! I hear it’s a piece of cake, but I’m a wimp when it comes to messing with my eyes.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 12:17 pm #
>>>I’m a lazy dog, though, and really don’t spend much time at the gym once I get there.
LOL, Two. I rarely go to the gym cause I can’t afford the time. So I’ve got some free weights and resistance bands at home. Plus several different tapes for cardio and weights. I would much rather get out and do something out of the house like ride or hike, though.
zambonigirl on 27 Jul 2007 at 12:23 pm #
Okay, I checked out the blood type diet, and I’m already doing everything it says to do for type A blood.
*ponders*
Wow, I might actually be doing something right for once!
I think that exercise programs should be as personal as diet programs. For myself, if I exercise at home, I’ll never do it. Some people are just the opposite, the idea of going out to the gym is just too much added work. I think it’s just you and your motivation and activity levels. As long as you’re active and taking care of yourself, that’s what’s important.
Julia London on 27 Jul 2007 at 12:24 pm #
Nicole, I have the South Beach Diet. Its in the stack of all my diet books. I have them all. I guess I’m just not that good about following them, :-).
Pj and Caren, at least with fat on the hips and thighs you don’t have to worry about your health like you do if its on your belly. And hip and thigh weight seems easier to camouflage than the watermelon look.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 1:06 pm #
>>I think that exercise programs should be as personal as diet programs.
Boy, that is so true, Zam. You have to do what works for you. It can be the best program in the world but if it doesn’t fit your lifestyle and motivation, etc. it won’t help you.
And yeah, Julia, you have to actually implement a plan for it to have a chance of working, LOL.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 1:15 pm #
Hi all, and especially Julia, just got this e-mail from a friend:
“There are a lot of low glycemic diets. I’m hypoglycemic and every time I go off it, I gain weight. There are a ton of sites, but the one I can think of right now w/o googling is lowglycemicdiet.com. It’s pretty easy to follow, too.”
So that’s another link you can check out.
I was really surprised to learn that some things I though were ok to eat had really high glycemic indexes. Some of the things to avoid if you don’t want to send your blood sugar through the roof:
Sugar
Refined flour (which means white bread, most cookies, cakes, pastas, and crackers not made with whole grains,).
Potatoes (its actually better to add butter cause it slows down the conversion to sugar)
White rice (Brown rice is ok)
Pineapple
After my dh went on SB, I started cooking differently. Did you know they now make pasta with extra protein? And it actully tastes very good!
Caren Crane on 27 Jul 2007 at 1:43 pm #
Nicole, you’re right about the high glycemic foods fooling you! I know the premise of SB is to keep people’s blood sugar from rising, etc., but that part didn’t effect me. I’ve had Type 1 diabetes since I was 16, so I was all too aware of what makes my blood sugar spike. It’s a great motivation for people with a tendency toward Type 2 (formerly called “Adult Onset”) diabetes, though. The more important aspect of SB is that it calls for lean proteins and reduced fat or low fat dairy products. People can eat high protein and high fat if they’re not careful.
I, too read something debunking the Blood Type Diet. Plus, the recommendations for Type O wouldn’t work for me because I have diabetes. But as zambonigirl was saying, everything should be whatever works for you. There are no universals. Even on SB, my apple husband dropped weight like crazy and my weight loss was excruciatingly slow. I also have thyroid problems like Patty (hey, maybe we’re long lost sisters!). (cont.)
Caren Crane on 27 Jul 2007 at 1:46 pm #
The thyroid thing makes everything harder. But SB works when I follow it (and don’t get distracted by things like Thanksgiving and Christmas *g*). But I can’t live life on Phase 3, it has to be more like Phase 2-1/2. Should read, “You can have whole grain bread every third day and a modicum of brown rice twice a month.” *g*
But what I know from all these years with diabetes is that the two absolute worst things for my blood sugar (besides any sort of pastry with a glaze) are: white potatoes and white rice. There is a reason they feed them to those starving children, you know!
Keri Ford on 27 Jul 2007 at 1:59 pm #
I DID have a nice hourglass figure all the way around then I had a baby and now I’ve got this pudge over my belly. So I’m a watermelon coming and an hour glass going
However pregnancy did teach me one thing. FIBER BABY. I take (if I can remember) a fiber pill every morning with my breakfast and it leaves me feeling full nearly all day.
I’m a big bread person, but I made my self adjust to wheat and eating regular white just doesn’t hit the spot anymore. Wheat is MUCH more filling.
ps. but be careful with your fiber, cause it keeps your system moving!
Claudia Dain on 27 Jul 2007 at 2:07 pm #
I’m hypoglycemic, too, which I think means that you learn very quickly what foods process to sugar the most rapidly. Most fruits do; grapes are like little sugar pills. Bananas go almost immediately to sugar, at least in my body.
The thing about the urge to eat is, unless it’s purely a habit, protein kills hunger very effectively. Sugar spiking up and down in your system is what causes all those hunger pangs and need-to-naps.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 3:05 pm #
Babies will do that you, Keri, LOL. All bets are off when it comes to pregancies. When you said FIBER BABY, is that a certain brand that you like? I’ve heard that fiber pills are supposed to make you feel fuller, but didn’t know they worked that well.
>>> But as zambonigirl was saying, everything should be whatever works for you. There are no universals.
So true! And a modest plan, be it excercise or diet or eating habits that you can stick with, is usually better than a fab plan where you fall off the wagon frequently.
I think that why Weight Watchers works for a lot of people. It’s pretty easy to stick with and it’s based on regulating calories. And Audrey’s plan of letting yourself binge once in a while (or promising yourself a binge time) is great for boosting your motivation.
Keri Ford on 27 Jul 2007 at 4:01 pm #
Nicole- I take one Citrucel in the mornings with a full glass of water. the bottle says not to take for longer than 2 weeks, but my doc said it was fine. And besides, how many commericals are there on tv preaching how we don’t get enough fiber in our diets?
And then there’s that one week in the month where it seems you’re never full–I take two then.
zambonigirl on 27 Jul 2007 at 4:35 pm #
I’ve heard that WW is a good program, and my mom even asked if I’d like to do it with her. I told her yes, and I’m just waiting for her to decide if she actually wants to do it (she’s kind of in a bad place right now, and I don’t want to add any pressure to her at the moment, and diets can be *really* stressful at times). I think that the most important parts of dieting consist of being realistic in your choices-like not limiting yourself to only 500 calories a day or thinking that you’re going to make it to the gym five days a week right off the bat, enlisting a support team, and forgiving yourself for any transgressions.
Funnily enough, my girlfriends are all going to meet up tonight, and we’re going to discuss our goals for the future, and health/fitness is really high on the list along with finances and personal improvement. I have a feeling that we’re going to end up sounding like Cher and Ty from Clueless by the end of the night…but we’ll be supporting each other!
Sabrina Jeffries on 27 Jul 2007 at 4:42 pm #
Well, I’ve been trying to find my way through the dieting maze for years. One thing I’ve found (I’m very definitely a pear) actually sort of supports the research.
I tried Weight Watchers three separate times, and lost weight initially in some cases, not at all in others, depending on how much carbs it allowed. I do well on low-glycemic index diets like Sugar-Busters and probably South Beach (although I haven’t tried it specifically, but it sounds a lot like Sugar-Busters), but only if I stick to lean meats and less fat. I tried Atkins and gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks. Not good.
I’ve been walking every day (although conference screwed me up as did this book deadline), but even then, except for conference, I’ve walked at least every OTHER day, which is pretty good for me on deadline. I find that the walking keeps me from getting very hungry.
And I LOVE edamame!! It’s my new favorite snack. Just had a half a cup of them about an hour ago.
Brandy on 27 Jul 2007 at 6:59 pm #
I tried to diet a couple of times, but there is a reason DIE are the first 3 words. *g*
I’m not a fruit shape either, more a large, short hourglass. The best thing I have found, is watching everything you in, eat in moderation, and exercise. I started a Yoga class this week and it’s FUN, and kicking my butt. And did I mention FUN?! *g*
Karen Hawkins on 27 Jul 2007 at 7:00 pm #
I love edamane, too! It’s so nice that it comes frozen so you can pop it in the micro and snack whenever you want. Gotta love that!
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 7:24 pm #
>>>Brandy: I tried to diet a couple of times, but there is a reason DIE are the first 3 words.
ROFL!! That’s what I thought, too, until I started the higher protein kick.
>>>I take one Citrucel in the mornings with a full glass of water.
I’ll have to keep that in mind. I have Fibercon and some generic fiber pills, so I’ll have to see if the fomula is similar.
As for low calories diets, I remember years ago when I quit smoking I gained 5 pounds in the first month… my dh said I finally figured out what the word “calorie” was. So that’s when I started aerobics. But each year that passes makes it hard to keep my metabolism up.
Some facts I’ve heard over the years (of course, these could be wrong):
– 100 extra calories a day will make you gain 10 pounds a year
– after age 30, you lose about 1 pound of muscle mass per year, and it turns to fat!
– Fat tissue burns calories at a rate 100 times slower than muscle tissue
– keeping up your muscle mass is the best way to keep your metabolism high. You even burn more calories in a resting state.
– If you move around every half hour, you keep your cells from going into fat storage mode. That’s why hyperactive people tend to be skinny. So if you can keep active in your normal life… i.e. pace when you’re talking on the phone, you can keep your cells revved up.
Nicole Jordan on 27 Jul 2007 at 7:29 pm #
And one diet guru (Lo-Fat Living) recommends getting a couple of minutes of exercise when you first wake up to jump start your metabolism for the day. And I think it works, at least for me. It’s free calories.
Also, I just remembered, one of my vets put her husband on a a NO WHEAT diet, and it’s worked wonders for his serious heart problems and his pre-diabetes condition. Of course, she also milks her own goats and drinks it, which is a bit further than I want to go, LOL.

Cail, you’re so good! Taekwondo?! Geeez! I am waaay too lazy for something like that!
You are so good too Nicole! I’m the opposite… I would much rather diet than exercise. I know that’s the wrong way to be. I’ve been a vegetarian for 13 years now… and have always struggled with weight since I was a kid. I recently lost 22 lbs by doing the Lindora diet on my own. Then I gained back 15.
But THEN, I did the Lemonade Master Cleanse and lost 13. I still have 22 lbs. to go in order to be that string bean I’ve always wanted to be!
I’m an hourglass too… big, little, big.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to lose my hips even when I’m a bean! Lindora is a very good diet though, don’t get me wrong. Pie every day for a week, and leftover holiday muchies will sabotage even the best of them!

I was THIN until menopause, after that, I gained 45 pounds in two years. ARRRHHHHH!
DH and I are getting a personal trainer as a gift to each other. He only has about 10 pounds to loose. At least he is willing to do it with me.
I have just rejoined Weight Watchers, too. The last time, I lost 8 pounds in two months, then life got in the way.
I hope that the combination of WW and exercise will help.

hmmm…when i was approaching this question i couldn’t pinpoint the exact fruit i looked like…
so i came up with a combination…
i’m a strawberry on the top, well partly because i like strawberries and also because i have a chest which is tres the annoying… sometimes, in this context especially, i which i could be a slice of cheese or something equally flat.
i’m a mango on the middle because i’m like ….pudgy *sigh* i have what looks to be an inkling of a waist..but still pudgy sort of belly.
and i’m like two carrot sticks for legs on the bottom…. which is anything if not completely upsetting when considering i’m practically out of proportion in vegetable & fruit world…not to mention i’m a fruit salad.

Pri, I’ll bet you make a delicious fruit salad, lol.
Kay, Very cool about partnering up with your dh to tackle the new program. Support like that is a tremendous help. I think that’s one reason my dh was successful on the SB diet… because I aided and abetted him *G*.
I’ve never heard of Lindora, Ellen. But anything healthy is worth looking into. And yes, pie will kill your hips every time!
That’s one thing I’m thankful for when we go to the in-laws for the Xmas holidays. I don’t care for my m-i-l’s Xmas cookies and she puts peanut butter in her fudge, which I think is a terrible tragedy and ruination of good fudge. I like Peanut Butter M&M’s, but not pb in fudge!!!!
