Sabrina JeffriesGoddess Readers Speak Out
Wow, y’all really went all out! 33 people entered a whopping 495 titles. This isn’t counting the two people who entered titles after the deadline. Sorry, ladies, a deadline’s a deadline (or so they keep telling me in New York), but if you want, I’ll include your titles in the master list I’m putting up on my site.
The main prize was chosen from among the 33 people. The name I drew was Kelly Ann. Congrats, Kelly Ann! E-mail me your info to get your prize of an autographed ARC of my book and an autographed copy of Karen’s book.
I also decided to give a prize of my own in two categories: Most Titles and My Personal Favorite. These two people win an autographed copy of one of my already published books, their choice. Just e-mail me your contact info, ladies, to get your prize.
In the category of Most Titles, the clear winner was Maggie Robinson with, gasp, 150 titles!!! Go, Maggie! Next time I need a title, I know who to call.
Personal Favorite was hard to pick. There were so many! Here were my top 18 in alphabetical order:
rumolay, Between a Rake and a Hard Place
Sara Lindsey, Earls Just Wanna Have Fun
ladydawgfan, Ease On Down the Rogue
Gannon, For Your Thighs Only
seton, Have My Rake and Eat it Too
Isabel, Here Comes The Pain Again
May, How Deep is your Lust?
Maggie Robinson, How the Breast Was Won
krissyinva, Kate does London
ladydawgfan, Moby Duke
Maggie Robinson, Phaeton Place
Maria Duncan, Ring My Bell
ashefrog, Romancing the Bone
Sara Lindsey, Ruts Like A Knight
Gannon, The Devil Went Down On Georgia
Isabel, The Viscount who shagged me.
ladydawgfan, To Sir With Lust
Brandy, Who’s Sari now?
But honestly, there were so many more I could have chosen, and choosing between these was hard. I finally settled on
Ease on Down the Rogue! ladydawgfan wins a book!
I like it because it’s suggestive, but subtle. But I swear, I had a hard time, and I would bet that any one author would choose another title.
Anyway, thanks, y’all, for giving us such a fun weekend with these! And I’ll let you know as soon as I have them all up on a page on my site.

Congratulations to the winners and everyone who participated. Thanks Goddess! I had so much fun this weekend because of this contest. Sabrina, you made my day, two of my “titles” made it to in your personal faves list. Yay!

You guys have had me giggling all weekend over these parody titles! I think my favorite has to be (for a Silhouette or Harlequin contemp, of course) THE DEVIL WENT DOWN ON GEORGIA

Some of my personal faves:
Unrake my Heart — I can’t find it again in the list, but I know it was there
Duke, Where’s my Carriage (ashefrog)
Achy, Rake-y Heart (Seton)
and How the Wench was Won (seton).
But they were ALL hilarious and so clever! I felt like a complete dolt. I can’t come up with serious or funny titles. Hats off to all of you and congratulations Kelly Ann!

Thank you Sabrina.
What to choose, what to choose?

I should clarify that the top Personal Favorite and the Most Titles person get a book. The rest were just . . . well . . . a list of my faves. I’d be happy to send them all bookmarks or something, but 18 books is a bit much!! Plus which, I probably wouldn’t have enough books to go around.
But if y’all want a little package of promo items, I’d be happy to send those to everyone. Just send me your contact info.

Thanks for the honorable mention! It was a fun contest, and I really enjoyed reading people’s contributions. Some of your readers are so creative. I love the title, Ease on Down the Rogue! A well-deserved win for that one!

Hi, Teresa! Thanks for coming by and having some grapes and ambrosia with all of us!

It’s sad when one has an addictive personality and too much time on one’s hands…I’m still thinking up titles, but I will spare you. Great job, everybody. What a fun contest, and who knows? Maybe I’ll write Phaeton Place if I ever get finished with Third-Rate Romance (my current WIP)!

Wow! Great titles. I almost choked on a couple of them - Have My Rake and Eat It Too was my favorite, although Romancing The Bone was right up there, or down, as it were.
I know where to come for titles! And welcome to Teresa - thanks for stopping by the Mount
Sara Lindsey on 26 Feb 2007 at 4:52 pm #
This was so much fun! And it has become something of an addiction… Just this morning I thought of more… Unlike Mags, I won’t spare you.

As the Earl Yearns
Laying For Keeps
The First Rut Is the Deepest
Aaargh - Must. Stop. Now.
For the record, though, my favorite title was Seton’s Guess Who’s Coming to Tup Her?

Ooooh, THANK YOU, Sabrina!!! Honestly, this was a GREAT contest, and not just because I won a book. I laughed my butt off reading the entries!!! We sure have some creative (and slightly twisted) ladies on this board!!!!
Now, which book to choose . . .

Congrats to the winners. I knew that Maggie had the most submissions. You go, girl. I had so much fun thinking up crazy titles. I’m glad, Sabrina, that you liked some of my titles. And thanks, Teresa, for liking THE DEVIL WENT DOWN ON GEORGIA–a little risque, but it was too funny not to submit.
