Welcome to the GODDESS BLOGS!

Your Friendly GoddessesGoddess Classics
Hello to our fellow readers, authors, and goddesses!
It’s a known fact that true love can lift you in many ways. Our love of books has lifted us out of the laundry room, the board room and the elementary school auditorium all the way to gorgeous Mt. Olympus where we are all goddesses!
Welcome to thegoddessblogs.com. We’re a group of romance and romantic suspense writers who decided to sponsor our own forum (note: ‘forum’ is a Greek word!) to chit, chat, and discuss life, love, and (of course) books. We welcome you, our goddess sisters, and hope you’ll make us a daily stop!
Here, we’ll even wait a few moments while you bookmark this page . . .
(imagine Jeopardy theme music here)
Now you’re hooked up for some true quality goddess time. Mt. Olympus is a lovely, happy, idyllic place. We won’t ask you to stand on your head, wear a toga (unless you want to — they’re really quite comfy!), or speak Greek (unless you decide to use the word ‘forum’ in a sentence — that would be ok), but we WILL ask you to share your love of books and life!
So help yourself to a glittering margarita goblet, recline with us upon our couches of gold, float away on the scent of incense and myrrh (what is myrrh, anyway? I hope it doesn’t smell like sausage.) and let’s chat about what’s what!!
WELCOME TO THEGODDESSBLOGS.COM!!!

Hey Goddesses! A lot of you are some of my favorite authors - Rachel, Nicole, Sabrina. The rest I hope to add to the list. Welcome to blogland, ladies. Let the fun begin.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Karen Hawkins on 14 Feb 2007 at 12:49 pm #
Welcome, my fellow goddesses! I am Karen Hawkins, a romance author who recently moved to FL (AND just hit the New York Times at #33 with my new book HOW TO ABDUCT A HIGHLAND LORD!). I’m vertically challenged, love to chat, write full time for a living, and have one dog, one cat, one daughter, and one (messy) son.
When you stop by, I hope everyone will post an intro. We want to know who you are!
KarenR on 14 Feb 2007 at 1:17 pm #
WELCOME! We’re so excited about our blog and about being goddesses. I’m Karen Rose, author of gritty romantic suspense. I’m a USA Today bestselling author and my new book COUNT TO TEN hit the shelves last week. Like the other Karen, I’m vertically challenged. Sigh, oh sigh. I have a husband, two daughters and my cat Bella, who is more like a dog than a cat, so we have the major pet categories covered. I live in sunny Florida where I now write full-time, but I’ve been a high school teacher and an engineer in my past.
We hope you enjoy blogging with us!

Hi Hi everyone! The place looks fabulous–I feel like I belong here. REALLY belong here, like that born-to-the-manor feeling I often get when in Europe. I have this theory that I was a queen or duchess in a previous life and my sister was my washerwoman. Funny, she has the same theory.
Anyway, I am thrilled to be here and look forward to making new friends and seeing some familiar ones!

Hello Goddesses! Congrats to you all on the big launch! I’m a huge fan of several of you and will probably be huge fans of all of you before long.
I’m really looking forward to visiting here often. I’m married with two kids and I LOVE to read romance. In fact, my current read is Karen Hawkins’s latest, HTAAHL, and I’m loving it!
Terry Jo on 14 Feb 2007 at 2:51 pm #
Oh, I am so glad you ladies started a blog! Suzie and Karen H rank among my fave authors, I just discovered Sabrina Jeffries and I am thinking I have read several other of you. What a great Valentine Day gift for us reading junkies.

Hi all! We’re so delighted you could join us and share in our new goddess status. If you’re like me, being a goddess is usually the furthest thing from real life!
I’m Nicole Jordan and I write historicals, mainly set in the Regency era. Writing romance is tons better than my previous life as a manufacturing manager/engineer making diapers and toilet tissue (seriously), even though it’s still nowhere near as great as being a goddess. I’m mostly a Southerner, but since my dh wanted to be a ski bum when he grew up, I now live in the Utah Rockies near Park City (he dragged me all the way out here from warm, humid Atlanta). I’m learning to love the mountains, though, and even like snow, as long as I don’t have to shovel it.
I’m so looking forward to getting to know all you new goddesses. We’re in for some great fun and some great times!

Welcommen, bien venu! We’re happy to have you here on Mount Olympus to join in our goddessness. Because if you’re here, you’re a goddess.
I live in Southern California where it’s supposed to be 75 today, and I write both humorous Regency Historicals and a humorous Romantic Suspense series about a reformed (mostly) cat burglar and her billionaire businessman significant other, who also happens to be a titled Englishman. I have to get maximum use out of all those research books on England. *g*
I’m looking forward to chatting with all of you!

Hey everyone, it’s great to be here amongst the Goddesses. I’m Rachel and I’ve published ten book and my eleventh will be out in August. Lets see . . . I have three children who’ve all moved out, moved back home, moved out again and have left behind their pets. So currently I have three cats and three dogs. I’m thinking I should buy stock in Iams.
I’ve been married or dating or living in sin with the same man for . . . 27 years? And my mother-in-law said it would never last.
Have fun and I’ll chat at you later.
Rachel

Rachel, I’m sure this isn’t the place for it…
Aw, hell, of course it is! You’re the goddess and I’m the supplicant, after all.
O, Rachel Gibson of the See Jane Score Fame, may you take pity upon us (me), and Post a Tidbit about Maddie, She Who Is The Most Wonderful of them All, and perhaps Adele the Last, Who Writes Great Fantasy.
Sabrina Jeffries on 14 Feb 2007 at 4:40 pm #
Hi, fellow goddesses! Remember, there are no supplicants here–if you’ve signed on to the site, you’re a goddess. We just needed a place for all us goddesses to get together, both reader goddesses and writer goddesses.
So here we are, and we’re psyched (that’s a Greek word, too, isn’t it?). I write Regency historical romances that vary in sensual tone from steamy to very steamy. I like steamy, in case you hadn’t noticed. I’ve come a long way from reading Barbara Cartland in high school.
Happy Valentine’s Day! May your goddess consorts shower you with chocolate and jewels, or at least take the garbage out for a change, and may you have all the goddess rewards you deserve today!
Laura T on 14 Feb 2007 at 4:45 pm #
Who do we offer our gifts to? LOL. This is SO much fun… Rachel, I was just saying to myself the other day…
I need a new Rachel Gibson book. I’ve read all of your books. All of a few of the other authors here as well. So glad you guys now live here on Mt. Olly where we can get tidbits about your writing!
Awesome.
Claudia Dain on 14 Feb 2007 at 5:07 pm #
Whew! Just careened in on my chariot, wheels smoking and horses frothing, but it was worth the ride. The air on Olympus is so much nicer, isn’t it? I’m pretty sure I don’t need sunscreen. I’m Claudia Dain and I write historicals. I’ve done lots of historical settings so far, but have just made the leap to Regency England and, I have to say, the view is pretty nice from there, too.

Rachel Gibson on 14 Feb 2007 at 5:36 pm #
Tangled Up In You is Maddie’s book and will be out in August. Tidbits… hmm. Let’s see if I can find the back cover copy somewhere. Here it is:
Maddie Dupree isn’t in Truly, Idaho looking for a husband, a boyfriend, or anything in between. Maddie is looking for the truth and is determined to uncover the untold story about the town’s sordid past—her past. As a child, Maddie lost everything, and now she’s back at the scene of the scandal—a local establishment that’s always belonged to the Hennessy’s—determined to uncover the truth, and nothing is going to stand in her way. Especially not a black haired, blue eyed Hennessy.
Everyone in Truly knows that the Hennessy men are irresistible, and the current owner, Mick, is no exception. His late father was a skirt-chasing-heartbreaker who ended up causing disaster for two families, So far, Mick’s managed to keep the ladies in line, but when he claps eyes on Maddie, with her luscious curves and tempting lips, he can’t resist getting tangled up with her.
But Maddie is keeping secrets, not the least of which is her true reasons for being in town. And when Mick discovers what’s really going on, there is going to be a whole lot of trouble in Truly.

Nicole Jordan, I covet your handbag
LOL! And here I was green with envy over KarenH’s champagne, JuliaL’s flowers, and especially RachelG’s gorgeous bodice and earrings. Carrying a purse, even if it’s an expensive brand name, adds years to my image. I wish my statue looked a little sexier *BG*. After all, if I’m supposed to be a goddess, I’d rather look like Athena or Aphrodite (how the heck do you spell that, anyway?) than the Elgin Marbles. But our webmistress has promised I get to be more svelte in our next header, which we’ll be changing every quarter or so to spice things up.
Great to have you here, Seton! Are you into handbags? Or shoes? In my plebian life, I don’t have many places to wear designer duds or fancy stuff, since I spend most of my free time out at a horse barn.

Thank you, Rachel! Maddie is totally my favorite, although I think that’s true of whoever has their book next! At this time next year, Adele might just be my fave…

Hmm, my previous comment is all messed up. Let me try again.
Nicole Jordan, I do admit that as a sexy author you should have sported the one-breast-bare-look that Karen Hawk and Claudia are sporting
As for your purse, I LOVE handbags. I collect mostly Hermes of Paris, here is a pic if you wants see — http://www.supload.us/free/setonbirkins.JPG/view/
but I’m not a big purse snob and like all types of bags

Hiya!
Everytime I swear I’m not going to add to the list of blogs I visit daily, there is another blog coming out or I happen on with a majority of authors that I read religiously. Oh well, there are worse obsessions, right?
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Nicole,
I am such a handbag ho. Just this morning I was looking for something and about twenty purses fell on my head. I forgot that I have some of the very first Kate Spades. I spent an hour in my closet revisiting old friends.

EEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!
Wait, no. There’s a tiny marble pastie there. Whew! Didn’t want the censors calling my house.

That’s so interesting, Rachel. I was never into handbags until recently, but its like I woke up one morning in a magical kingdom of purses, and suddenly I had to have them–not just any handbags, either. The really expensive ones! I swear its another hormonal change.

First of all, happy Valentine’s day! I’m a student majoring in English and Philosophy, but that’s really just to hold me over until I get published
I recently ran out of bookshelves (and space for bookshelves…) in my apartment, so my cat and I are looking to either find a bigger place or throw out the couch.

Wow, very cool…. er, at least I image it is since all I know about handbags is what I learned on Sex and The City…. But at least I recognize the names, Hermes, Kate Spade….
I once got to ride in an Hermes saddle and it was DIVINE. Does that count?

Hello, guys! I think I’m the first puertorrican to join the blog. This is a happy ocassion, I love your books, guys, and it’s so exciting to be able to chat with you. I live in Caguas, PR, and have been reading books since I was in 8th grade. Started with Barbara Cartland, then Harlequin, and now read all kinds of romance, with suspense, paranormal and fantasy, also some erotica. Have a very happy, happy Valentine’s day with your loved ones!

Hi all goddesses,
How nice to be in your company! I read voraciously and am always thrilled when you have a new book out.
One of my favorite lines from Indiana Jones is “Snakes… why did it have to be snakes?” I have my own story of taking part in an experiment to cure my snake-phobia. Let’s just say that I’m no longer afraid of pythons in plexiglass cases. You rarely encounter those in the wild.
And I do think of Hugh Jackman in “Kate and Leopold” when I think of some of your leading men, usually titled. He fits well into most of the well-cut coats. Although sometimes I like a little darker man, like the ones who come back injured from Waterloo and need me to nurse them.
Oh, this should be fun!

Hello all you Goddesses!!
It just occurred to me that I haven’t commented in the “Welcome” blog, but have commented in the goddesses blogs! How could I do that? haha Anyway…
I am Andrea, a 24-year-old college student in English. I just changed my major from Journalism….long story there. I discovered this site by getting an e-mail about it from Nicole Jordan’s mailing list. Nicole, my mom discovered your books at the library one day and she is the one that got me started on reading your wonderful stories. We love your books and can’t wait for new ones to come out. I plan on reading all the other authors on here books as well. It might take me a while, but I promise you all that I will get them read!
Hmm, let’s see, what else could I tell you about myself? I love to read….is it obvious yet? lol I love to write. I write mostly poems and short stories. I love hanging out with my friends, being outdoors, playing sports, (softball and soccer, to name a couple) hanging out with my family (Mom, Dad and brother, Brian) and a ton of other stuff. I am single and currently trying to capture the heart of the guy I like. I’m from Kansas and no I HAVE NOT met Dorothy or the Wizard yet! lol (Just had to tease and put that line in there! haha) I look forward to the future blogs and have to admit that I have been on here everyday since I first joined!
Thank you for The Goddess Blogs and good luck to you all with writing and everything in life! I look forward to getting to know all of you.
~Andrea

Oh my, I just discovered blogs! Thank you Sabrina for putting the link in your newsletter, I am just ecstatic! All of my fav authors, in one place, what more could a voracious reader ask?
My name is Dianna I am a 55 year old single mom. My daughter is 28, married and has a gorgeous little 5 year old daughter. My son is special needs, just turned 17 and the blessing of my life. I work full-time and I devour books every spare moment I have. I have been reading as far back as I can remember. I was an only child and books were my friends, they are still my friends and as I tell them at work they are my escape. When things get tough, I go away, to England, or Scotland, or wherever (hmmmmmm never did know how to spell that word) the current romance I am reading takes me. LOL
This will be a daily visit for me for sure and I am anxious to check out the visiting goddess authors too!

NICOLE GIRL, YOU CRACK ME UP. SO ONCE UPON A TIME YOU WERE A “manufacturing manager/engineer making diapers and toilet tissue.” I SERIOUSLY CAN NOT IMAGINE YOU DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT. WRITING ROMANCE IS CERTAINLY YOUR GIG. THANKS A BUNCH FOR REFERING ME TO THIS SITE.
I AM MEGA HAPPY TO FINALLY GET A HOLD OF JULIA LONDON. JULIA CHICA, I LOVE YOUR SCOTTISH BOOKS ESPECIALLY, THE THIRD OF THE LOCKHART BOOKS.

My grandmother was my goddess. Born in 1911 she saw many changes in the world and in the way women were regarded. I remember one time when a Platex bra commercial came on; my grandmother was shocked! This woman’s bosom was showing! But this great lady also taught me a love of reading. When I would stay at her house we would curl up on opposite ends of the couch and read. Total silence in the house, the passing of time and stories that brought tears to your eye with their happy endings.
